Carpathian Forest interview - talking drugs, sports and black metal with Nattefrost

  • Carpathian Forest is one of the oldest yet also one of the most original black metal bands from Norway. However, they have been on hiatus quite some time and it's not very common to see them play on stage. That's what they did, however, at Steelfest 2017. That's exactly when we managed to interview Nattefrost - the only original member of the band. We talked about music, drugs and black metal. Check it out and comment the video on our Facebook page, / rautametal

Brave of Rauta to ask about the drugs. Some people get real shitty about those types of questions. But Nattefrost seems really open about it. I hope he gets 100% better again. Seems a decent guy.

easily my favourite black metal act of all time, so many amazing albums which I'm very proud to own.. And morbid fascination with death was easily one my most listened to albums for many years... However (I'm sorry guys).. This still seems like a case of someone who should know when to stop. So many really.. sad to watch live performances over the past few years, would almost have been better to end the band on a high note (Not the live vocal highs... sorry). An inevitable conclusion to a truly legendary, inspirational man's life, worn out.. not a young man anymore and it shows, the sheer nastiness of C.F caught up with him. Strap up a hammock between those trees nattefrost, shove on some old albums, through a stereo... and chill with a beer. Your legacy is strong, you're allowed to relax a tad now :')

Nattefrost will always be a legend and major influence for me, since his early days of C.Forest and Grimm! I would never judge a man like him, like I would never judge Lemmy for their lifestyles! I know exactly where is coming from and its clear that his influences comes from early hard rock, punk, crust and heavy metal the cover in the C.F. compilation proves that! he's making something out of his art rather then putting an end to it! Fuck you all!!! is another great example no more need to be said I'll end up beeing misundestood! Keep up the great work Rauta your work is one of a kind!

In my opinion, Nattefrost expanded the genre into nihilistic rock n roll art, perversions. Only true to the cause, no matter the cost! Nattefrost- no regrets! Many have fallen off the (band)wagon-- pun intended, but NF's vision remains true to himself. Many are saying poor Strange Old Brew, doesn't age well! Hmm.. Fine by me, I'll have it served cold, with a blackened heart! 👌🏽

well depends on what kind of drugs and how much one takes. cocaine once a month. a joint here and there won't make any difference. but abuse of certain substances does destroy you more or less if too much taken on a daily basis.
i wouldn't demonize drugs in general.
