OpenAI o1 appears to be a "mid-cycle refresh" featuring chain of thought (CoT) built-in so the user doesn't have to do as much prompt engineering to get similar results.
The cycle prediction makes sense to me from HW perspective, I think forward looking FY26/27+ we need to expect an expanded revenue from the APP Store from all things GenAI, that expansion could increase the revenue to offset part of the cool down in HW.
Are you all not familiar with the new Audio feature on Google Notebook LM? That is the huge breakthrough of the week and just last night they made it available for mobile. I seriously don't understand what this new OpenAI model is supposed to improve upon.
So for my pitch - I think WWDC25 will be similar to the introduction of the AppStore. Using Apples AICloud and their models - developers will able to train models and integrate them into Apps. Apple should provide an AI platform to assist developers in data formatting, training and testing.

I think Anthropic needs to be in Larry Ellison's list of contenders. I also think Anthropic gets acquired by AMZN at some point.

Don't think the AI features will drive significant sales growth. Moreover, all of the polls I've seen show lackluster interest in the new models.
