Natasha came off so uncaring by putting a microphone to her puppies mouth while dog was suffering. Maybe give dog some cbd to relieve pain. So upsetting
My 12 year old baby girl Doberman passed away on Sunday morning on the couch, she didn't seem to be in any pain, but her breathing that morning was very shallow and labored...luckily she went very quickly and it was oddly very peaceful...sending all my love to you two and Mayor Cutie...love you all

It's a matter of quality of life. If she's in pain and has no quality of life, it's cruel to extend her suffering.
Awe so sorry to hear about Cutie.
When we had to let our last dog go, our vet told us when they get to the point you're not sure if it's kind to keep them hanging on, then it's better to let them go a little sooner than than too late.
If their quality of life has decreased, why let it get to the point they're in severe suffering when you can help them go peacefully before that?

Listening to some of the calls, you can tell some people just don't have a good friend to talk with.
It's definitely time, I think, for Mayor Cutie, who we all love. The most selfless thing we can do for them at the end is let them pass peacefully. I'm so sorry, guys. 💕

My friend has a oncology vet for elderly dogs and dogs at the end of their life. She makes house calls. It was a game changer for them. They hv two elderly dogs. One who is blind and howls and the vet says it’s dementia. The other has tumors. And stopped eating. Eats hand fed only. Ham. And chicken and fast food. And terrible unhealthy but tasty
snacks. Crazy. They gave the dog two months and she’s been hanging on and walks two three days a week. It’s been 6months since the cancer diagnosis. Car says both look like they still have a lot of life in them. Wag their tails. Etc.

You don't need to get rid of a dog who won't let you hang out with a friend.. You train them.. You put them in a crate.. You deal with it.. Pay a trainer if you need

IF It's kidney failure which most Chi's get in old age (blood work will tell you) they will lose interest in dog food. I found mine would eat only people food, and different kinds depending on day that she never ate before (hamburger, even spaghetti). They will shake or whine as they're body is essentially shutting down. One doc gave my dog 3 months to live after she stopped eating dog food.. Edema in legs and diarrhea are the later symptoms.
If it's kidney failure you can also can inject liquid IV bubble into her back neck skin daily that sustains them longer but realistically only a few more months.

I think you do whatever it takes for her not to suffer. Either increase her pain meds. And if she passes, she passes without pain. Or consider putting her down.
If I’m in a lot of pain at the end, that’s what I would want. Comfort even if it hastens the end.

If your dog bothers you exercise it into submission once or twice. I feel like a lot of people's dogs have never been exhausted let alone off leash. Take it for a 3+ mile walk on or off leash and see how much attitude it has left. All love good memories and chi to and from sweet girl Mayor Cutie
