Right! It’s a common misconception. The expensive food is the vegan substitutes like vegan mince and cheese etc.. Whole Foods are most often budget friendly 😁
I absolutely love this video! Being on disability I really have to pinch my pennies! And I'm always looking for ways to save on groceries and I find that being vegan is already a cheaper way to eat but I do really have to watch what I spend so thank you for sharing this video! Do some more I would love it!
I like this type of "On a Budget" videos. Not just for the economics, but usually these kinds of recipe have fewer and easy-to-find ingredients. (All Alexangra's recipes are great though)
More of these please! Other ideas would be a week or day of following "doctor greggors daily dozen", 3 different meals using the same core ingredients, 15 min meals, dinner party ideas that look fancy but are actually easy...
Alexandra, honestly at first I watched the video because you are simply gorgeous, but after seeing your recipes I just spent 2 hours watching your videos. Great recipes, my diet matches yours, whole food plant based, minimal processed food. Thank you for posting, I’m going to subscribe to your app.
Hello I am a new subscriber. I came across your channel a couple of days ago and I am loving it! I love how all your meals are plant based. All of the meals I’ve seen on here and on your Instagram look so delicious! I have been vegan for 5 months and want to eat a healthy vegan diet and this channel is very helpful in teaching me how to do that! I would love to see more budget videos 🥰
From Chicago Long live Sweden. Love your videos. Found them today. Started Whole food plant based 4 years ago but keep getting lazy with it. Lately bought many frozen whole food dinners but too much salt. Your videos are re introducing me to the right way to eat. god bless youuuuuuuuuuuuu Laird
You can find tapioca starch in asian supermarkets (I just discover this)! And also if I don't have it in the moment I use corn starch, works the same for me :)
Hello. Very nice. What could you use to replace the nutritional yeast with? My husband cannot stand the taste or smell of nutritional yeast, so I could not get away with this. Thanks.
Tell me please 🙏🏻 do you have specific pan for pancakes? I tried different pans, but everytime my pankes was too hard remove from the pan. They were not so good looking like yours 😥
Love the mac & cheese! I sometimes also put chickpeas in the "sauce" for a bit more protein. It's like veggie hummus & macaroni then haha Btw, how long do you bake that for?
It's very different on about how many calories different people need. But if you eat a whole food plant based diet (minimal processed food and oil) it's hard to gain weight because the calories are pretty low compared to processed food or animal products :)
TIP if ur copying her meals - use kale instead of spinach (except in smoothies of c). She doesn't get enough calcium sometimes and eats a lot of spinach which puts her at risk for calcium oxalate kidney stones. Kale is a good source of calcium and doesn't have nearly as many oxalates as spinach.
You shouldn’t go overboard with the spinach no 😊 if you are looking for calcium rich foods then tofu, edamame, collard greens, tempeh, tahini and bok choy also have more and the same as kale 👍🏼
Almond butter is super expensive. Kale is not easy to find organic et. I would focus on beans, frozen green veggies, carrots and potatoes as well as seasonal fruits. These would be cheaper and more nutritious.
That’s why I made my own almond butter 😄 I could have skipped but decided to have it in there. It depends on where you live, in Sweden it’s very easy to find cheap kale. And I agree with frozen veggies, they’re often more cheap and even more nutritious! 😊
$200 a MONTH?! for all the produce I buy, it would be more than that. Produce where I live is expensive. I mean, sure, add in the beans, rice, Lentils, etc but I'm celiac so I can't get inexpensive pasta and most everything I have to make sure it says gluten free.

Hello
good health for you
In the bean dish, add spinach and red pepper in order to protect the blood from breaking down and hemoglobin in the future.
You can find tapioca starch in asian supermarkets (I just discover this)! And also if I don't have it in the moment I use corn starch, works the same for me :)

WHAT kind of pan is that to make the pancakes that do not stick! INFO please.
I’m impressed
Thank you 😊
On the California central coast, it is expensive
One of the reasons I love your app is creamy dishes without cashews. I kept trying cashews and just don’t like them 🤷🏻♀️
Yaay! Happy you like them 😊 myself love cashews but beans and potatoes are also sooo yummy to make sauces with 😍
Hello. Very nice. What could you use to replace the nutritional yeast with? My husband cannot stand the taste or smell of nutritional yeast, so I could not get away with this. Thanks.
P.S. He also does not like chick peas, in case that is a substitute.
Tip for those who don't know..put the banana in the oven for a few minutes..it will ripen quick
thank you @N0hopeleft! I didn't know that trick 😊
Tell me please 🙏🏻 do you have specific pan for pancakes? I tried different pans, but everytime my pankes was too hard remove from the pan. They were not so good looking like yours 😥
Dear Alexandra, could you let me know what app you use to create videos?
I edit them in Final Cut Pro 😊
I live for Alexandra's videos! 🥺❤️
Sweetheart ❤️ lots of love to you!
What pan did you use to cook the pancakes?
It’s from a Swedish brand called Duka 😊
Love the mac & cheese! I sometimes also put chickpeas in the "sauce" for a bit more protein.
It's like veggie hummus & macaroni then haha
Btw, how long do you bake that for?
Hummus with pasta is great so I bet that tastes amazing 🤤 I bake it on 200c for 20 minutes 💚
This Video was amazing, as always🥰btw what is the name of your coffee machine and would you recommend it? it looks so cool
Thank you sunshine! My coffee machine is from the brand De'Longhi ☺️ It's a nice machine for a beginner like me, turns out great
😍😍😍
Don't you have to count calories if you are going Vegan to loose weight?
It's very different on about how many calories different people need. But if you eat a whole food plant based diet (minimal processed food and oil) it's hard to gain weight because the calories are pretty low compared to processed food or animal products :)
ehehehe, I did the same vídeo yesterday 🥰😍❤️
En 350 SEK för en vecka challenge vore kul också! X
Kul idé, tack! 😁

6 dollars a day isn't cheap I live on less and have a very healthy diet
