- We visit Blue Hawaiian Helicopters at its main base in Kahului, Maui to learn more about the company's helicopter tour operations using the Airbus H130 helicopter.
Established on Maui in 1985 by David and Patti Chevalier, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is today an independent subsidiary of Colorado-based Air Methods, LLC, a prominent provider of air medical services. About 80 percent of company revenue is derived from public sightseeing tours, with the remaining 20 percent coming from private tours and charters.

Blue Hawaiian is a wonderful operator. The H130’s are a great way to see the islands!
Beautiful machines!
I've done multiple tours on different islands with Blue Hawaiian. It's an amazing experience. Every time I take someone to the islands, I always insist we do one of these because it is an experience that should not be missed.
What is your favourite island to fly over with Blue Hawaiian?
@@Verticalmagmedia Definitely the Big Island. But all the other islands are just as good!
@@ChickyTV Not too many bad places to fly in Hawaii!
@@Verticalmagmedia Absolutely agree!
Love this helicopter 🚁😍❤️🔥
What's your favourite thing about the H130?
@@Verticalmagmedia they offer a really good view, are not that loud, have a good capacity for sightseeing flights and I especially like the design.
@@captn_railaviation Couldn’t agree more! We always get excited about photo/video shoots involving the H130, especially in places like Hawaii!
Have you flown one or gone for rides as a passenger?
@@Verticalmagmedia yeah. With Niagara Helicopters last year. Was an unbelievable experience 🔥
@@captn_railaviation Niagara Helicopters is a great operator! Did you see the announcement about their fleet? You can see that here, big news! verticalmag.com/press-releases/niagara-helicopters-renews-fleet-with-order-for-six-airbus-h130-helicopters/
Amazing private chopper
It sure is! What is your favourite thing about the H130?
This is a beautiful video! Great flight footage of these really beautiful helicopters in and above the breathtaking landscapes og Hawaii. Great voice over narration by the pilots. Thanks a lot, it was a pleasure to watch your video!
Thanks for watching! Have you had the chance to fly in a helicopter over Hawaii?
@@Verticalmagmedia Not yet! But I was flying several times as a passenger in a Bell 206 here in Europe. The best feeling ever. Now I am enjoying to fly my RC helis. My deep passion!
@@RCCopterLove-helis4ever That’s great that you got to experience helicopter flight in a 206!
We just posted a video you may be interested in… Bell 206’s with fixed floats landing on water int the Everglades. Take a look and let us know what you think!

@@RCCopterLove-helis4ever you are welcome. Let us know what you think of the 206 with fixed floats in that video!
Nicely done! It was a pleasure playing a small role in the creation of this.
Thanks Shane, it was great flying with you!
Okay, how cool is that job ?
It's pretty cool!
Took a flight with Blue Hawaiian back in 2015 or so with their Kiwi pilot at the time . Fun flight (I’m also a Kiwi and ex heli pilot). Was sad I left the USB recording of the flight on my plane home.
Sorry to hear that! What helicopters did you used to fly?
@@Verticalmagmedia mostly Hughes 300s. A little bit of time in the 500. Never completed my CPL, which I later regretted. I was actually the first NZ helicopter pilot to go solo at 16 and pass PPL on my 17th birthday.
@@MeppyMan That’s awesome you had time with the 300s and some with the 500. Must have also been fun as a 16 year old flying helicopters!!
Did you go to the Great Kiwi 500 Fly In? verticalmag.com/news/the-great-kiwi-500-fly-in/
@@Verticalmagmedia sadly not, but saw the video and I know a few of the pilots (from a long time ago…I’m old now). Haven’t flown in a long time (hence my comment about regret). Recognised a couple of the regos too. Was always my favourite machine to fly in the limited experience I had.
Better than T.C.
