Lou, aren't you the lil genius! ❤ I never would have thought of that. I agree though, a mold should be able to hold its own. That would have been very disappointing. The Jaquard paints you have used are gorgeous and applied so beautifully may I say. 😊 A wonderful tutorial as always sweetheart, thank you so much! 😘 👌
Thanks for showing us the difference in painting before or after sealing, Louise, and the tip about supporting the underneath. Your feathers came out beautiful!
Oh my gosh! You did it! Thank you so very much for demonstrating that, yes we can add additional details by painting on Aqua Cast and for answering the question of to seal before or after. Your feather is absolutely GORGEOUS!
Can *definitely* tell a difference between the two castings, Louise! How clever to use a plaster of Paris support! 👍😊
Those paints are *gorgeous!* *LOVE, LOVE* the second leaf! The soft colors and chrome are perfect together. 😘 Love the brighter colors on the first leaf, too. I think I just like color! 😅
They look beautiful together. But i love the paler one the most ❤😊
I also like the practice feather most. Thanks for informing us about building a support foundation. Great tip. 😊
Those pearlescent paints are absolutely beautiful! Both feathers are amazing but I think my favorite is the light blue one.
Thank you so much for showing how to make a support. I needed that info. Thank you so much, Louise!! And as always you rock!!❤
I really love the way you painted the first one but yes I do like the proper dish shape of the second one.
Great save! You always think out of the box! Pretty results.
Just the video I was waiting for. I needed to know more about painting these pieces.
the practice feather was pitiful when it came out of the mold, the extra support was genius! both are lovely after painting and gold leaf. thank you for the "sealing" experiment!
Both the feather dishes turned out so beautiful, Ms Louise 😍 💖, your painting is amazing 1💜💜
Thank you ever so much xx
I like them both but I like the second one with the silver better. Really pretty.
I was dying to see you demould that! I'm sure you're in my head sometimes as this was another thing I was wondering! ❤
Wonderful tutorial Louise! I certainly learnt a lot from it, especially the name of the feathers rib! I’ve had my mould a few years now and only used it for resin with good results. I’m yet to try this method, so your tutorial is saved. Thank you.☺️💐your painting is beautiful on both feathers! ❤
I JUST looked for this info last night. Way to read my mind.
Thank you for the experiment. They both turned out nice. It’s good information to have. Mold problems and all.
Brilliant idea! These colors are beautiful. Excellent video.😘
Amazing. I have the mould and haven't used it yet. So seeing your video has been so useful. Thank you ❤
Hi Louise great video, beautiful feathers 🪶 😍 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
I have a similar feather mold, although I purchased mine through amazon, I didn't have a problem with it, but I did use it for epoxy resin...these came out beautiful Louise...totally gorgeous painting! Thanks for all the great information!
These are gorgeous
What a wonderful tutorial. You answered my questions also. Love 💕 the colors of the feathers. Thank you Louise
You are so welcome! ❤️
As always hun a fab educational tutorial, love the end result
I have a similar feather mold and I believe, one like this. Those are GORGEOUS Louise. Thank you for a wonderfully informative video. ❤ Gail
Thank you ever so much Gail ❤️
Than Ypu Louise! I've been coveting that mold for a couple years but now know what to look for when I finally get one. I guess the bottom needs longer support feet to rest flat on surface while still providing the concave effect. I love both of your outcomes, just stunning! Al
Love this, I prefer the second one however, both are lovely. 😊
Brilliant work around. I will keep it in mind for any issues I may have with soft molds.
I bought that same mold from Temu! Thanks for the tip for keeping its shape!
I have a mold like this. Now I know what to do if I have the same issue. I never would have thought to add the support. Thank you
Looks stunning Louise beautiful job and thanks for sharing
Lou , Brilliant move on making a Support! Great job on the final product! I'm so glad I found you today! I have some catching up to do. Thank you so much !
Thank you very much Charlene ❤️
I made a support for my mold too but I made mine with resin 😊
Great video Louise, love the feathers 😍
I love them both. The colors are beautiful . Thank you for the tutorial. it is very useful information.
Love it!! ❤❤❤❤ you answered my longing question on when to paint. THANK YOU LOUISE ❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome!❤️
That was a great tutorial and thanks for all the tips😀❤️
Great video! I always enjoy them. I also learn too.
The shoring up of the mould was just a perfect tip for me! I am not able to get decent moulds where I live and have been racking my brains for a solution to this very problem. Love your content....but feel like a complete idiot for not thinking of this myself!!!! Keep up your fantastic tips and tricks Louise.
Oh wow, thank you so much for that, I’m really happy I helped 👍
Louise this is a great video and turned out gorgeous. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much 😊
beautiful both of them, and nice fix
That's the problem with the mad rush to get things out into the market. There is no full testing of the products to work out all the kinks and bugs.
I have a small vase mould that collapses in the middle, so I have to pop a tube into the centre to support it while pouring
Temu may be selling "seconds".
Defective molds that they obtain really cheap.
I've got the same mold from another source and don't have those issues.
Also the weight of the Aqua Cast may have been a factor as I've only used resin in mine. 🤷
The colors turned out beautiful. ❤
Thank you, very good points 👍
Thank you so much for doing this. I have this mold and it doesn't have the same problem as yours. I think i got mine from Amazon but I have one from Ali Express as well. We have a summer place in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, US and was thinking of making these for a craft fair. I love the way the paint came out. I actually had not thought of painting. I'm a crummy painter but I think I can rewatch this and do a good job.
😍😍😍
That’s a brilliant idea for the craft fair! I’m not the best painter either but not much can go wrong, you should have a go. ❤️
Very useful information. Thanks ❤
So beautiful.
Love it 💙
Beautiful!
very beautiful
I bought a mold from Temu but after making the swan trinket box I noticed a flaw in the base. Asked for a refund and threw both the mold and two lots of swans away. A lot of resin was wasted. So disappointed, I will not be buying anymore molds from Temu. The feathers are lovely.
Beautiful
I have the feather mould I found one side has come out thicker than the other
Mine also spilled out so I ended up holding it in place for a few minutes
I quite like the unique wonky shape
Your colours are beautiful x
Thank you Diane ❤️
Hi Louise, can you add pigment paste or mica powders in aqua cast?
❤❤❤
Hi, is aquacast better than resincrete?
Hi, I haven’t actually tried Resincrete so I can’t compare them, they seem very similar though.
Amazon sells this mold if you don't like Temu. My mold is not like this one, my mold is not even like this one. I got my mold on Amazon.
TEMU sells utter crap. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything from that Chinese organisation!
