    Which of the sprinters at the Abu Dhabi Tour has impressed you the most this week? Let us know your thoughts!

      Global Cycling Network kittel

      Ewan against Kittel, Cavendish, and Greipel? Most definitely Ewan.

      It has to be Kittel for me. He only contested one sprint, but he won that one from a worse position than the people he outsprinted. He may not be the best tactician among the sprinters, but he certainly has the greatest power.

      15s power of both is really high. But I expected the peak to be much higher... I do 15s with 780W but peak is at 1260W which is nearly the same as Caleb Ewan...

      @elijahwilkey8036 7 років тому +2

      But remember Ewan weight 61kg. Mark Cavendish's peak is around 1400 in a race and I know quite a few people with peaks between 1500-1800.

    My brother and I were at this stage in Abu Dhabi. After a enjoying a lap on track in a support car behind the riders, we walked around the start/finish line area and spotted Matt and his camera crew member in the pitlane around 15 km before the finish and had a word and a laugh with him. All I can say is- what an absolute gentleman he is in person! Not only a legend in cycling and now a celebrity, this man is as friendly off screen as he appears to be on screen, (and something tells me that would have held true if any other GCN presenter had been the one we'd spotted). A big thank you to GCN for doing what they do so well, being so awesome, and being so humble about it too!

    Very comprehensive coverage! Definitely delighted by the numbers and the full coverage of the award instead of only top 3 podium! Keep up the good work GCN!

    i like the race reports. id like to see more races on car race tracks like this. id like to see more performance breakdowns such as what cadence and watt, effort etc riders are at in different sections of races and how a shorter race compares to a longer one, hilly vs flat etc. thanks

    The power numbers were neat, but a better comparison between Greipel and Ewan would've been watts/kg since their size is quite different...

    Impressive wattages. My 15 second PB is 886 watts (peak of 1006). My higest wattage is 1358. Weight 70kg. Strangely enough I did it at the end of a 24 hour race (I did 503 km).

    Do pros use tires with grooves in them during heavy rain stages to prevent aqua-planning thus tires sliding? Or is this exclusive to race car wheels? #torqueback #askgcnanything

    I have never compete, but I can generate even slightly better numbers than Caleb (at least at turbo, I have no power meter) and from time to time win green jersey in Zwift. Would I be a valuable competitor? #torqueback

    • @lucianonarno1408

    • @lucianonarno1408
      @lucianonarno1408 7 років тому

      Drew Labat I think our beautiful sport is growing in the sense of making it more equal towards women. We're seeing more and more races and tours being included in the women's pro calendar too. I don't know if this exact tour will be made available to women racers but I'd love to see it happen! We're growing out of this "cycling is for men" mentality and I'm very happy about that.

    • @andrewlabat9963
      @andrewlabat9963 7 років тому

      Luciano Narno that's kind of what I meant, if the women of this free world I aren't good or equal enough to have their ride then it should be abandon..
