Who in their right mind joins a military that has abandoned soldiers in a hostile foreign country and left them to die?

I left the military shortly after one of their diversity trainings where I discovered that my boss by virtue of his skin color couldn't be racist because he was at such a disadvantage in the world. Dude went to Ivy League.
I went in the USN in 1979 and they were already moving to AA.....while I was in they started transitioning to women at sea with their first experiment in that on the West Coast the USS Gompers resulting in 40+ charges of prostitution under the UCMJ and over half the women pregnant returning from a 6-month deployment........not so much women yet as I was on a ship, but you could see the double standards and hypocrisy in advancement between Caucasian and "POCs" even then 40 years ago

The American military is simply a mercenary force. I believe we are now the only country on earth that does not require its citizens to serve time in learning how to defend the country in the event of an attack from outside. A citizen that will not give of his time and energy to serving some time in the defense of his country does not deserve to be defended. Pretty much. Its one thing to Join a military that probably doesn't have your interest in mind at all times. However its another to join a military that not only appears incompetent but is proactively setting itself up for worse standards and functionality. I wouldn't be surprised as time goes on that they might change up to the draft-mandatory service model since alot of people outside maybe foreigners wanting citizenship or people looking for a paycheck or the occasional patriot seem to be the only people who actually are willing to swallow the BS of the military that seems to be working against itself and the national interest.

There is no "misreading" of what they are trying to do as the man suggests. We know what's going on.
Recruiting numbers suck not just because of the politization of the military but because it's now taught in schools to hate the United States and the military. A lot of my generation didn't wait for a recruiter to walk up to us to try and sell us on joining. We loved our country then as much as we do now to walk our own butts into that Recruiting station and sign up. We did it because we were proud of our country and the freedom it gave us all. If you're taught to hate American values, then there will be no one left to preserve such values.
that's what I did, walked into a Marine recruiter's office a few days after my 18th birthday for the same reasons.

That man's replies were ripe for a driving followup cross examination and she let him get away with dodging every time. Pathetic. Proving this entire exercise isn't about ability (as the USAF has weakened measurably under his watch) but instead about checking boxes like "first" (insert color of skin, sexual condition, mental condition , preferably all of the above) to be whatever. This agenda and the people behind it need to be hung out to dry.
We decreased barrier to entry while being able to meet the standards. How can that be a true statement? Either you meet the standard or you don’t and are disqualified.
They probably just lowered the standards. That way they both decreased the barrier to entry (standards) while at the same time meeting the standards (the new lower standards).

We’ll I’m here to tell you the ANY DEI training is inherently divisive because it is telling all of us servicemen and women that we are inherently racist…which we are not! And we know it! It didn't forbid standing armies but many of the Founding Fathers were worried about their potential threat to the nation itself. Ironically it was the single worry of all that they had about future internal threats that never materialized.

I retired from the Corps in 2020 right when all of this crap started and there is no way I would be able to take it seriously now. The military is the most diverse and equitable populace out there, because everything is based upon merit. Not your skin color, where you come from, gender you are, it's what you can do. That how the military is based and when you change that dynamic you ruin everything that has been built since 1775.

As a military retiree I've never been more proud of our forces. They actually care for the men and women in the service.

In case anyone hasn't detected it, a DEI proponent will define the term "equity" differently depending on the audience; specifically, what level of sympathy/indoctrination is assessed. Be careful... the end game is reparations, or at least, take from the haves to give to the have-nots, based on the good will of those in power. Which creates more power, and dependent masses. If you haven't already recognized that as the ideological threat of our time, take the time to think where that is heading. Most of us aim to defend this nation from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I'm a retired law enforcement person and grew up in a family that had several generations in service for the US Military, so what I'm about to say should not shock anyone. If anyone I know or meet questions me about either of these career paths for their children, I simply tell them to guide their child(ren) into something else as a career.

I can't say about law enforcement, I only did that long enough to get off probation and then quit. I just didn't like wearing a costume with a badge and a gun and the power of the state behind me.

My Dad retired from the USAF as a bird colonel. As he served in WWII, I am well familiar with the "fruit salad" displayed on a uniform jacket. This is another "perfumed prince" of the pentagon. His top award is the Defense Distinguished Service Medal for distinguished performance of duty contributing to the national security or defense of the United States in a non-combat role. He does have a Bronze Star Medal, however, which can be awarded for meritorious achievement or meritorious service in a combat zone. Easy for a general officer to pick up just by visiting a place like Bagdad during our stay there.

There are people from all walks of life that serve. Military politics have been on the rise since the 1970s and it started with the officer corps. It has since devolved to the recruiters who are told to force DEI (or better put DIE) in their recruiting practices, meaning that not all the best are joining up and it has gotten substantional worse over the past 15 years, or since the Obama regiem. They don't want men and women who believe in the rule of law and honor to be holding the guns that may turn on turncoat officers who betray their sworn oaths like Millie.
Social engineering by the government is easiest to do in the military because you follow the orders of those Generals above you. More tiresome briefings on all sorts of topics to waste your work time. See what is being taught to NCOs at their Professional Military Education schools. The NCO is the backbone of the force, taking orders and implementing them.
I am a USAREC survivor! The all volunteer force is and was a good experiment! It’s long been past time for a conscript military. God Bless the volunteers! Our country needs allegiance to the nation. I imploy all Officers and Enlisted to re-read the oath they took prior to going to bootcamp/basic training, and on the very day they reenlist. No where does it state that we are beholden to one party. We are to support and defend our Constitution from enemies both foreign and domeatic so help us God. Our military is not a political engine nor do we serve to protect them but America as a whole. These Generals are a disgrace to the branch they serve and the uniform they wear. Tyranny is punishable by death and yet they fail to uphold the oath they took.

@@Dan-sc7us you’re probably right. There is a uni party. They’re both controlled bought and paid for by the highest bidder. Trump wasn’t though. That’s why he was crucified and hated. He wouldn’t tow the line for the military industrial complex, the pharmaceutical industrial complex. He’s against racism in the form of DEI. He’s against the homeless industrial complex. He’s against victim ideology. Therefore he must be stopped because he couldn’t be controlled. It worked pretty well. He was a Republican though. That’s why I say for the most part, It’s Democrats. However there’s a lot of Republicans and that mix as well.

Non union, great benefits, good pay based solely on petformance.
Then came diversity goals.
Slowly watched promotions based solely on diversity. Beginning of the end. Managers not knowing thier work, caring less about employees.
The exodus and lower performance began. No one striving for excellent reviews. Just accepting getting by.
Then the higher ups went to plan B, golden parachutes, immense salary and bonuses.
Took buy out. Contracted back, for more than my salary.
Then worked for competition. Thier focus on winning over my former company showed poster of Titanic sing, with name of former company.
Was overheard saying, ""Why are you doing all the negative things so and so were making them fail and trying desperately to become them ?"""
Regional mgr sitting behind red with rage. But knew i spoke the truth.
Miltary now doing same.
More generals than soldiers.
Better pay and benefits than soldiers.
Better advancement than soldiers.
Final straw, mandated, unproven vaccines, ESG thier new core value.
Totally a losing strategy and if nothing is done to turn this around a weak military regardless of how great we are thought to be.
