I'm glad that Montana picked up on all might actually just not being the most practical person. He DOES waste time just using his abilities sometimes but I think it's just meant to be a character flaw. He has a hard time not acting like he's always at the top of his game.
6:39 That's simply because horikoshi ( the creator of mha ) is like , A HUGE Star Wars fan he has dropped references to that franchise in his series here and there since day 1 and is still doing it ever since :)
God, I love One For All. On so many levels. At first I liked it because of how unexpected it was. If you told someone the basis of Deku’s character, “Boy without powers who dreams of becoming a hero”, and asked them to develop his character from there, I’m willing to bet they’d either have it so he actually had a super cool super hidden power that only showed up now, or have him be a Batman-esque hero, who fights with no superpowers and relies on his smarts and gadgets and whatever. What are the chances they’ll have it so All Might actually inherited his power and chooses to pass them on to Deku? So already, MHA has an original aspect to it which I really appreciate. Second, One For All is really cool. The name is cool, a reference to The Three Musketeers and to the fact that this is one power meant to save all people, the image of the colorful lights connecting to each other is cool, and the very concept is cool. This inheritable superpower passed down through generations, which, in the Japanese dub, is described as “the crystallization of power that spins together the voices of those who need help with a courageous heart.” How cool is that? Not as cool as what it symbolizes. It’s frustrating how little I can talk about it without giving major spoilers, but One For All embodies elements from basically every central theme of the story. For now the most obvious one is that, as a power meant to save people, it represents the spirit of a hero, the same spirit Deku showed when he ran to save Bakugo. And just getting One For All is HARD. Can you imagine training for TEN MONTHS by cleaning an entire beach? I wouldn’t have lasted one week. But Deku shows just how determined he is by not only doing it, but going further beyond (or should I say Plus Ultra) and training even more on his own, to the point that All Might, the person who pushes himself to work as a hero and appear invincible even though he has several organs missing, scolds him for overworking himself. Which clues us in to an interesting and crucial aspect of Deku’s character, which ultimately leads to his greatest internal weakness: his disregard for himself. It’s clear Deku has very low self-esteem. That’s to be expected, after all, he has been bullied and harassed for his entire life, with everyone around him constantly reminding him he’s worthless and can’t do anything. Bakugo even nicknamed him after a term that literally means “someone who can’t do anything” (dekunobou). Of course Deku internalized all this, which basically destroyed his image of himself and his sense of self-worth. Then you add in his huge sense of altruism, desire to help others and insane determination, and you get someone who doesn’t really think about himself. If someone is in danger, he doesn’t think, he just acts on instinct. If there’s something he wants to achieve, there’s no amount of danger or exhaustion that’ll make him quit. That makes him heroic, sure, but it also means that, as Montana pointed out in the last episode, he has no sense of self-preservation. It makes you wonder when this sense of duty is too much, how far Deku is willing to go to save people, and how far is too far. I can’t elaborate on this now, but Kenny and the people who watched season 6 already know the answer. To further drive the point home, look at how Deku reacts upon finally being able to receive One For All after _ten months_ of excruciating training which impressed even All Might: _“I feel like I’m cheating. (…) I’m too blessed.”_ It’s very interesting to think about why that is. The short answer is clearly impostor syndrome. Like I said, Deku has a very poor image of himself, and you can even say internalized self-hatred, thanks to all the bullying he endured. So when he gets the chance to pursue his dream, he comes to the conclusion it’s just because he got lucky and All Might blessed him with power even though he doesn’t deserve it. Interestingly, there are some “fans” who believe this as well, that Deku just lucked out and was “handed” his power. I hope I don’t have to explain extensively why that notion is laughable. Especially when you remember that, with the exception of exactly four characters (one of whom is a manga spoiler, so I can’t say anything), _everyone_ in this series was _born_ with a Quirk. But the guy who was handed his power on a silver platter is somehow the one who had to train ten months to get it after showing he had the heart of a hero even without any powers. Yes, Deku is extremely blessed to have met All Might and inherited his Quirk, but he’s absolutely not cheating or being handed anything. Deku meeting All Might is a stroke of luck. All Might choosing Deku as his successor is a recognition of his heroism. And Deku receiving One For All is, as All Might himself pointed out, the result of his own efforts. And the only way you can’t see this is if a) you’re a moron, b) you watched the show with your eyes closed, or c) you have an extremely poor sense of self-worth due to years of harassment, and when given the chance to pursue your dreams, you develop impostor syndrome and attribute your success to luck and/or the help of other people. That third one is the only acceptable view, even if it’s wrong. Also, All Might saying _“Eat this”_ is funny. We get our first look at U.A. High and of course, the best girl! I really like her, and she and Deku are my OTP! I’ll try to keep my shipping out of these comment-essays, but given certain developments for both of them, I think it’s fair to point out why -they’re perfect for each other- they feel the way they do about each other. For now, what we can see may look like just a joke of “Haha, look, Deku can’t talk to a girl”, but if you think about it, Deku is used to being ignored or bullied. Yet this stranger helped him, was kind to him, and wished him good luck, probably not something he usually experiences. His mother cares about him, but can’t support his dreams. All Might believes in his potential, but has a rougher way to show affection. This girl didn’t know him, but showed him kindness and didn’t look down on him, even after he tripped on his own foot and acted like a -adorable- dork. And let’s not forget the hilariously earnest guy who also comments on Deku’s outbursts of mumbling, and Present Mic, who delivers the series’ first “Plus Ultra”, has a very funny and energetic demeanor and explains the entrance exam with video game graphics. Fun fact, in the manga, the artificial villains are actually represented by images of Super Mario enemies, but it seems Studio Bones didn’t want to risk Nintendo getting lawyers involved. Also, looks like Bakugo does feel like he owes Deku for saving him after all. What other reason would he have for stopping his bullying and simply taking to ignoring Deku’s existence (while still being his usual “DIE!” self)? He has a funny way to say thanks, that Bakugo. Once again the music is great, this time the highlights for me are “Plus Ultra” (from All Might’s explanation of One For All), and “HERO A” (from Deku’s training montage). Also, I write most of these comments ahead of time, so I’ve decided to post them before the videos premiere and then make a follow-up comment about Kenny and Montana’s reaction.
Great explanation into the small details of One For All, Deku’s bullying, it’s affects and his training and how Midoryia absolutely earned OFA through his efforts, action and who he is as a person. All without any spoilers! As a fan who’s caught up to the manga and the anime, it’s so refreshing to look back at the start of the series and just appreciate it even more. I also forgotten how the soundtrack is just so damn amazing.
This was a fantastic explanation of OFA. This is genuinely impressive. I love how you approach this from the narrative standpoint. When I approach it, I look at it from its functional standpoint with a side of narrative. I won’t spoil my thoughts because I can only go one step at a time like the show does for reactions. I also want to bring up that OFA is the ultimate learning superpower. Deku and All-Might are BOTH doing a trial by fire since All-Might has likely never taught anyone (and I mean VERY likely) and Deku has to learn how to use what is pretty much an entirely new aspect of his body he’s quite LITERALLY never had before. And that feeds SO well into a show that is all about learning physically, mentally, and ESPECIALLY emotionally. And that plays a MASSIVE part in the functionality. Which…I’ll say that it’s gotta be one of if not THE most complex superpower I’ve ever seen. And it does NOT take long for that to sink in. I do think you’re giving Bakugo too much credit though. Which is a trap MANY fall into. 10 months is a long time, but the guy himself is trying to accomplish the same thing. And Bakugo cares what the school thinks of him so he can get in the school. (Like how he knows he can’t ditch to “pick up chicks” with his bully friends because how it could make him look as he’s trying to apply and study/train.) There might be a BIT of that but there’s no way Bakugo isn’t focused on himself considering what we know of Deku and Bakugo’s dynamic. I want to elaborate but I have to leave it at that and wait for context to help. I get the hunch we’re going to have some interesting conversations going forward.
Unfortunately, One for All isn't THAT original of an aspect, as one of the top rated, most popular of all time, anime/manga, and one of the top cartoons use something akin to it, but it's still pretty cool. The manga one could potentially be a spoiler if you don't know it, but Avatar is still a much better comparison anyway. It's a neat concept that the past holder is still there when the current holder is inheriting it, I guess would be the new concept, though I wouldn't really call it new as its function of mentor works regardless and one is not more inherently interesting than the other.
Horikoshi is a _masive_ Star Wars fan. Most of the places in MHA are named after Star Wars locations (plus Ojiro's robe and the droids, probably; maybe even Shigaraki's relationship with AFO, which is quite similar to Vader's relationship with Palpatine). Also western comics; All Might's hero form is drawn much closer to American style, and a good portion of the characters (Kamui Woods, Tsu, Sero, even Deku himself, eventually) are essentially Spider-Man expys.
kenny be like "how dare you call me out on the thing i freely admit about liking all might" :^) im so glad montana likes deku already, he can be super polarizing at the start
I wouldn't say any of the other options for passing One For All is much better. - You could have an old man make a kid drink his saliva. Not great for many reasons. - Having him drink his blood also has a weird vibe to it. - Taking a bite of his flesh might give Deku a weird vibe. Really eating his hair is the most efficient and clean way to do it.
A small comment. In the manga, when explaining the robots, the author drew what is essentially Goombas, and Koopas from Mario. The Video Game comparison was way WAY more blunt because of that.
Spoiler for Montana: to answer Kenny about why All Might wait until the morning of the examn is that he never had the issue Deku has, he used OFA instantly. Since he used it for so long, the power grew stronger so the version Deku recieves is way stronger than the one he got at first. So, TLDR: he didnt knew Deku would get broken :P
I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. (To a certain extent absolutely considering the time difference between All-Might’s training and Deku’s.) All-Might said the 10 month period was a rush job regarding Deku’s growth and he says outright you can’t inherit my full power set. Which is a line so INCREDIBLY vague I can’t even with All-Might sometimes. And it even takes a DIRECT comparison VERY soon to show where things are between the two of them. But based on that and what we know of All-Might, doesn’t his access to all of OFA have to do with all the training he did PRIOR with the person who WROTE the Aim to Pass American Dream Plan? (Which DEFINITELY wasn’t All-Might based on how he talks about it. It was originally made FOR the guy.) I think it’s more to the point because of timing, All-Might has to take a whole new approach. And if All-Might truly had no idea that Deku would break, wouldn’t he I don’t know RESPOND when he sees it happen? The fact the guy doesn’t and waves it off tells us EXACTLY how much trouble this could cause the poor kid. I’m not trying to be condescending at all btw. OFA has a MILE of nuance to look at and when you ask yourself the right questions, you might notice a few common assumptions actually can’t stand firm. And I actually fully intend to address that as they sprinkle in the pieces of this quirk.
Seeing Montana's reaction of realizing Iida has the same voice actor as Erwin (J. Michael Tatum) was priceless! I wonder what if Kenny knows that Tokoyami has the same voice actor as Armin, and what would Montana's reaction be to that.
AS A LONG TIME FAN OF YOU GUYS! IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU TWO TO DO THIS ANIME. I know kenny is a fan already but MONTANA youre absolutely going to love this show
The writer of My Hero is a huge fan boy over nerd culture in the west, hence the locations being named after star wars locations. there is also a lot of DC influence on quirks for some of the heros.
I love that you're watching the dub. I saw the first 2 seasons of Netflix and they don't have the dub so it's very refreashing to hear the same things said in a different way, also the whole expirience with the dub is better. I watched all seasons after that in dub and I love it. (Please sub watchers don't come at me, you watch as you like I'm not trying to make everyone watch it as I do)
6:30 “Those are both Star Wars names, that’s gotta be on purpose.” Yes, it is. Kohei Horikoshi is a pretty big Star Wars nerd lol. Mans likes a lot of western pop culture in general, which is how he ended up writing his own take on our style of super heroes, but there are Star Wars references all throughout this series.
I can't with the comparison of commander Erwin to EDA 😂 I'm rewatching mha with you guys and I previously watched AOT with you guys! Love your channel, keep it up guys 😊
Ah the training arc of Deku and All-Might. Months upon months of having a man who has lost the use of at least 2 body systems screaming at a kid about lifting a TRUCK up a trash pile. It’s easy to forget how strong Deku is natural. And All-Might of course starting to show off how TERRIBLE he is at teaching. “Look at you being pathetic! You aren’t ready to inherit my power! I meant your body!” Or how he only gives Deku the ABSOLUTE BARE BONES explanation of what the power is, with no sign that anything was ever clarified once he accepted. And just going to say this now, no nothing was explained, this is a pure trial by fire for Deku. Not what the power is, not what the other facets are he will have to learn, not the fact that there is possibly someone out there with the power that can ACTUALLY wound All-Might at his BEST who is all but indestructible, none of that is answered. I will say that I have zero doubts that the “Aim to pass American Dream Plan” is WAY too well thought out to not be All-Might’s predecessor’s doing. Especially since All-Might said he edited for Deku’s body type in mind. And then All-Might has to just off-handedly belittle Deku later when he’s jacked. Another hit to Deku’s pride. But he hasn’t lost any sense of self miraculously. Still muttering away analyzing every possibility…including eating hair. Good job Deku. And what does he get when he gets to UA? He meets his love life. Doing the one thing NO ONE thus far has done for him yet. Give hope, support, and kindness UP FRONT. She doesn’t care if he didn’t talk back, she just wanted to comfort the nervous boy. Which is PRECIOUS. And Deku is BLOWN away. Not just because female exists near him, but because among the people that don’t give him kindness and the benefit of the doubt up front, are his own MOTHER, and his master All-Might. Soooooo good start? (Yes, Deku’s mom is kind, but her lack of belief her son could be a hero without a quirk is what broke Deku as a kid. And that’s why she let herself go out of guilt.) Point being, floaty girl is ultimate sweetheart. And we get introduced to crazy calf man. He has a stick up his butt and he is PROUD he got it in that far…not exactly good wording, but as of now, there’s no better way to talk about him. This is inevitable for a hero school to get kids like this. You’re a cop, a 1st responder, and an actor all rolled into one so the kids with the highest expectations are going to show. There is Deku’s very down low courage. Sitting next to Bakugo because familiar face is a VERY gutsy move. We know how terrible he is already and he STILL does it. Sad but true aspect of empaths, empaths can frequently be drawn to their bullies in hopes of becoming their friend so they stop bullying them. And…that is SO much harder than animes have told you in the past. Do NOT look at Goku and Vegeta or Naruto and Sasuke for good examples. They are NOT. Also, Present Mic! He is the announcer and he has THE most convenient job of all characters for reactors, analyzers, and just viewers alike. And he is a BIG reason I got so good at this. Through him, a great amount of this show gets extra depth. It’s a bit sad no character names matter until season 2 basically. One of my complaints about season 1. And…I have to admit season 1 is my least favorite season by a WIDE margin. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. But now we have the 1st test in front of us!
Not gonna lie, I’m happy that I’m not the only one writing really long comments on the MHA reactions. The training regime originally coming from Nana never crossed my mind, but it makes a lot of sense. Maybe Gran Torino was involved too. One of my favorite things about All Might is that, despite being the number one hero, the strongest character in the story and the hero’s mentor, he’s still a flawed character. I don’t think I’ve ever saw a mentor character who is _bad_ at mentoring and it is recognized in universe. I also love how, despite being the strongest of the cast, every fight he’s in still has tension thanks to his time limit. I didn’t realize how much I valued tension in a fight until I watched the teacher character whose name I don’t remember from Jujutsu Kaizen get his moment to be established as the strongest character by wiping the floor with some bad guy in an episode-long fight that I found SO BORING. Like yeah guys, I get it, the sensei is super strong and the animation is good, but where is the tension? Can you at least try to make it look like sensei might lose? I dropped the series after that fight and eventually remembered MHA, and how All Might’s power was established in his fight with Nomu while still being a tense fight because we know he’s at his limit. I’m not trying to start another MHA vs JJK argument, just talking about one of the reasons why one works for me and the other not quite.
@@dekuisagreatmaincharacter well Gran Torino was the physical side of All-Might’s training. Nana was said to be essentially his mother. So the fact that she had meal plans in there likely means she actively cooked for him while training the guy. Which she practiced with someone else. I won’t deny I have a VERY strong love/hate relationship with All-Might. His flaws in teaching I love how it works narratively because it shows how much of a super genius Deku is while he learns from trial by fire. But I HATE how damaging that has to be emotionally for Deku because he ALREADY gets enough crap from others. That being said, when looked through the lens of being Deku’s essentially dad, All-Might is TOP-NOTCH. Sadly, he’s training a successor…and that’s where the REAL problem is. But it’s that depth that makes him my 3rd favorite character of the show. Behind Deku and Uraraka. The depth of this show is INSANE and I LOVE exploring it’s depth. I can’t wait til it’s true complexities really start to kick in.
7:46 idk if he understands the question Since the answer would be that he's generally _not_ draining it, not quickly 8:50 sectiom 10:33 and Katsuki not saying anything 11:43 it's so funny but less likely
Montana: "Superpowers are ideally something you should earn." Funny you mention that. I forgot if you guys reacted to the MCU movies or not, but one of the themes of Marvel comics is that the villains largely believe that the universe owes them power because they are special, while the heroes are people who are constantly trying to prove that they deserve the power that they have.
Horikoshi (MHA creator) is actually a MASSIVE fan of star wars, hence all the references. Even a certain character's special move in the future had to be renamed to avoid copyright.
to simplify it there was this guy lets call him AFO and his brother shiga Afo had the quirk to take and give quirks shiga was quirkless his brother gave him a quirk lets call it OFA and that quirk is like you put stuff into a garage then you sell it then the buys put more stuff and sell it again so that is one for all
14:12 (section) OH MY OH MY GOOODNESS 16:24 like his skin? 18:02 not even easier, straight up left him alone iirc 19:40 and his radio show 20:10 not even looking forward hehe but yee I like how Katsuki looks at his card, makes his deduction out loud, and then tells _Izuku_ "If you look/don't look, I'll kill you" Like, 😂
6:27 good eye on picking that up. It just so happens that Horikoshi the author of the manga is a BIG fan of Star Wars hence why most of the location names are based off planets from the franchise. There's a theory he my be implementing elements of the Skywalker saga into the story too.
I am a new watcher of this channel btw ^^ You guys seem like a nice couple, I will enjoy watching you react to this. I don't really understand those "counter" messages popping up all the time xD But it's ok
i think a great show for you guys to react to (if you've not already watched it) would be One Punch Man, its currently only got 2 seasons so its relatively short with a third season coming out either this year or next year, the animation is great, the characters are great, the show as a whole is hilarious
That's it, everything you need to know about Deku is here, if people had it in mind they would understand his actions so much better in the future seasons ...
Yes. I believe the original voice actor got sick for a while, and had to step down from the role. I am pretty sure he recovered, but he was down for several months to a year if I remember right. (I am being vague because I only heard about it third hand, and don't remember any details.)

Also Ep 13-22 of Demon Slayer!
not sure if you know but the writer is a huge fan of star wars, as you go through you see more and more star wars references.
I like how both Deku and Tanjiro have an extended training period in the span of one episode, and yet both still feel natural and earned.
Both in the third episodes too
Well, the first chapter of MHA released on July 7th 2014 whereas the first chapter of Demon Slayer didn’t release until 2016, so if one copied the other (not saying they did btw) then DS defo would have been the one to copy MHA
Tanjiro training took years took a year just to slice the boulder and 8 months if working before
tanjiro mid though

The “Deku Negative Rizz Counter” was a great idea
The story does a great job at immediately making you interested in All Might. He's so endearing as a character and his hero persona seems like an ideal hero, but his struggle makes him feel infinitely more human.
Though he's like Superman and Cap, he also has this beaten down sense of self that's so Spider-Man which makes sense given Horikoshi
HELL yea, that's one thing I love about Spiderman, he makes everything his fault even when it clearly isn't (always up for debate but just follow me), and uses that feeling of failure to win AND save everyone (if you know you know, not spoiling anything)
Midoriya hyping himself up and then tripping and saying “or I’ll just die” is relatable af.
Anyone else feels called out…?
relatabe
Midoriya is clearly Gen Z
I'm glad that Montana picked up on all might actually just not being the most practical person. He DOES waste time just using his abilities sometimes but I think it's just meant to be a character flaw. He has a hard time not acting like he's always at the top of his game.

i just love Montana's reaction at the start to all might offering his quirk
Always funny to me how strong Ida comes off initially in the show, when he turns out to be a pretty good guy and enjoyable character.
Yeah, I've seen a TON of reactors get pissed at Ida in these early episodes lmao. It's funny because he becomes one of Deku's first friends.
“EAT THIS” 😅😂
That is such a meme 😅
At least it was hair...
16:25 Yes, there are other ways to consume DNA
Kenny: We’re not gonna discuss them
I giggled with Montana like a teenage kid 😆
How is it that I've been in this fandom for 6 years and I've never until now heard the take "I love Deku. He's hydrated" 🤣😭💚
All Might is the perfect combination of earnest and insane. I love him.
Ah yes, the return of Kenny clenching his jaw to not give out spoilers.
the star wars references are on purpose the creator is well-known for loving star wars and adding references to this show
Pretty slick with the “Bakugo’s B*tch” prompt slid on there👀😂
Montana asking questions and immediately exclaiming “you can’t answer” will never not be humorous
12:39 it's like Kenny fell in love with Montana all over again😂

I'm really happy to see that there is an entire channel dedicated to explaining Deku's character in an incredibly well thought out way.
I salute you.
This was great! I'm glad I spent 10 minutes to read it lol. I'm sure it was a lot of work but I would read more of these comments so thanks!
I do like the slow smile trying to hold it in Kenny does when Montana perfectly predicts something thats gonna happen
Its shows like this that take everyday objects or phrases and literally turns it into a whole universe. Really influences and inspires me creatively.
I mean... yes there *are* options aside from eating a strand of hair... most of which would definitely land Allmight some kind of list.
12:45 "I'm fucking obsessed with this show?" "REALLY? @ U @" Oh my god, so precious. XD
God I love this show so much. I get goosebumps like 12 times per episode
"Presentation Michael"😂
13:38 "Hey, you're on the beach, not in the woods, Tarzan."
The writer of MHA is a huge Star Wars fan! You'll see all sorts of little tidbits, references, and inspirations throughout the series
Present Mic is a professional hero, a radio broadcaster and an english teacher.
The Writer very clearly chose to say "You have to consume my DNA" and left the door open... They could have done anything else!
It’s even worse when you realize there’s no DNA in hair
@@Microme955tbf, that's only true of hair that falls out or is cut. If you pluck a growing hair, there will be DNA at the root.
@@dynamicworlds1 Not always
If you don’t end up plucking the follicle with it there will be no DNA
@@Microme955 true, I did oversimplify slightly.
It makes me happy to see someone enjoying the show from the beginning, cant wait to see the rest of the reactions!
kenny be like "how dare you call me out on the thing i freely admit about liking all might" :^)
im so glad montana likes deku already, he can be super polarizing at the start
I wouldn't say any of the other options for passing One For All is much better.
- You could have an old man make a kid drink his saliva. Not great for many reasons.
- Having him drink his blood also has a weird vibe to it.
- Taking a bite of his flesh might give Deku a weird vibe.
Really eating his hair is the most efficient and clean way to do it.
You're forgetting... the forbidden source.
@@SubzeroBlack68 The way he describes it is that he has to ingest it?
A small comment.
In the manga, when explaining the robots, the author drew what is essentially Goombas, and Koopas from Mario.
The Video Game comparison was way WAY more blunt because of that.
i am so happy u guys are doing this show it's honetsly one of those life changing experiences
It was originally made FOR the guy.)
I think it’s more to the point because of timing, All-Might has to take a whole new approach.
I love watching the 2 of you interact and come up with theories. Keep em coming
Deku pushing himself beyond his limits to make up for the many year's behind he is, is always inspiring
Itadori had to eat a finger. Deku getting off light with hair.
Montana's weak, disgusted little "oh no" is the single funniest reaction to that scene I've ever seen. She sounds so genuinely disturbed for Deku 🤣
Seeing Montana's reaction of realizing Iida has the same voice actor as Erwin (J. Michael Tatum) was priceless! I wonder what if Kenny knows that Tokoyami has the same voice actor as Armin, and what would Montana's reaction be to that.
I'm so glad you caught the Star Wars names of locations.
"there are other options" 16:24 im dead lol
J. Michael Tatum (Erwin / Iida) also voiced Scar in FMA:B.
Deku 🤝 Montana
Over analyzing Quirk
I love that you're watching the dub. I saw the first 2 seasons of Netflix and they don't have the dub so it's very refreashing to hear the same things said in a different way, also the whole expirience with the dub is better. I watched all seasons after that in dub and I love it. (Please sub watchers don't come at me, you watch as you like I'm not trying to make everyone watch it as I do)
Yup Deku is certainly a member of the overthinker gang, we grow in number every day :D
11:10 that "umm excuse me?" look 😂
4:44 domain expansion "MUMBLING SPIRAL"
6:30 “Those are both Star Wars names, that’s gotta be on purpose.”
Yes, it is.
7:54 i cant with the edits 🤣
Ah Present Mic the first of 2 of the Dub VA we meet who will be recast in season 2
You guys are quickly becoming a favorite reaction channel for me
I can’t believe Kenny never noticed the Star Wars references. I mean, Kamino Ward???
7:46 idk if he understands the question
Since the answer would be that he's generally _not_ draining it, not quickly
8:50 sectiom
10:33 and Katsuki not saying anything
11:43 it's so funny but less likely
19:15 for a second there I thought that was actually apart of the show 😂😂😂 but that’s just a SpongeBob dub. Bro for a second I was about to lmao😂😂😂
The whole training montage is an homage to to Luke and Yoda
Montana: "Superpowers are ideally something you should earn."
Funny you mention that.
I forgot if you guys reacted to the MCU movies or not, but one of the themes of Marvel comics is that the villains largely believe that the universe owes them power because they are special, while the heroes are people who are constantly trying to prove that they deserve the power that they have.
One day I was cleaning a beach when an old man asked me to swallow his DNA. Just anime things.
I can't wait to see Montana's reaction to Gun For All and Itchyman.
They are star wars references and theirs quite a few more including a city named after kamino iirc
0:32 PAAAUUUSSSEEEEEE naw I'm playing lmfaooo
Horikoshi (MHA creator) is actually a MASSIVE fan of star wars, hence all the references. Even a certain character's special move in the future had to be renamed to avoid copyright.
Montana that girl is the future MR.S Midorya
"Negative rizz"???? LMAOOOOO
I can’t wait for y’all to see the rest 🙌
I love the training montage so much
The Author is a big fan of Star Wars so lots of places names are refrences
Also really big on spider-man
to simplify it there was this guy lets call him AFO and his brother shiga Afo had the quirk to take and give quirks shiga was quirkless his brother gave him a quirk lets call it OFA and that quirk is like you put stuff into a garage then you sell it then the buys put more stuff and sell it again so that is one for all
This series is so effing good. I really need to pick it back up again it just start it over. Deku ❤
She is absolutely going to love this show
14:12 (section)
OH MY OH MY GOOODNESS
16:24 like his skin?
18:02 not even easier, straight up left him alone iirc
19:40 and his radio show
20:10 not even looking forward hehe but yee
I like how Katsuki looks at his card, makes his deduction out loud, and then tells _Izuku_ "If you look/don't look, I'll kill you"
Like, 😂
Yeah I know what you were getting at with that there are "other ways" of inheriting One For All, Montana
6:27 good eye on picking that up. It just so happens that Horikoshi the author of the manga is a BIG fan of Star Wars hence why most of the location names are based off planets from the franchise. There's a theory he my be implementing elements of the Skywalker saga into the story too.
There are a ton of Star Wars references scattered throughout the series; have fun spotting them.
I am a new watcher of this channel btw ^^ You guys seem like a nice couple, I will enjoy watching you react to this. I don't really understand those "counter" messages popping up all the time xD But it's ok
It's a counter for everytime something occurs with the show or with Kenny/Montana
Wish I had the money to do Patreon so I could see the uncut reactions.
Would love to see a reaction to the alternate voice over of Deku's tripping scene.🤣
About the star wars names, the manga author Horikoshi is a fan of Star Wars.
IDA AND COMMANDER IRWIN THE SAME?! How did I never know this
i think a great show for you guys to react to (if you've not already watched it) would be One Punch Man, its currently only got 2 seasons so its relatively short with a third season coming out either this year or next year, the animation is great, the characters are great, the show as a whole is hilarious
I guess I’ll be rewatching the first season with you guys, and in English too. It’s interesting. The dub’s actually nice ☺️
The creator of My Hero Academia is known fan of the Star Wars movies and some of the plot of My Hero is similar to the movies if you think about it
Imagine if the hair just fly away
That's it, everything you need to know about Deku is here, if people had it in mind they would understand his actions so much better in the future seasons ...
I fell in love with this show after 3 episodes, JJK is still the real peak tho
Did Present Mic change va's between seasons I hardly recognize his voice between this season and the latest.
Yes. I believe the original voice actor got sick for a while, and had to step down from the role. I am pretty sure he recovered, but he was down for several months to a year if I remember right. (I am being vague because I only heard about it third hand, and don't remember any details.)
is it just me or does the dj sound like chuck e cheese
Bro clapped his own cheeks at the end of the episode 💀💀
you know it's gonna be a good anime when there's 0 parent's concent.
major plot hole lmaoo uraraka can only make him float if shes holding her breath XD
That's not a plot hole since it's not one of her weaknesses
The creator of Mha is a huge Star Wars fan so there are a lot of references!
I love this show :) my favorite
I'm surprised you're this much of a mha fan and didn't know Horikoshi loves Star Wars lol.
The author of the show is a big fan of star wars maybe thatswhy he put the name of beach and market from Star Wars
My top 3 anime right here
