If you stream this on the regular, I will absolutely watch. This is extremely entertaining to watch, and seeing the sheer joy you have as a tank nerd warms my dead heart.
Agreed this is a fantastic game and the development is slow but very rewarding to follow. I asked the dev a while back for access to the dev build on Steam and they gave it to me (I am a kickstarter backer too) so they're very open to feedback and support. Honestly can't rate the devs highly enough, they're so open with everything they do.
I think that once they get the system (battles, reports, etc) to work properly, the development of the content will go rather quickly. Maybe they may get bogged down in the development of realistic effects for modern ERA, optics, etc, but other than that I think that the game mechanics will take much longer than the models and their game values.
Isn't that how it always work with these games? The models are (relatively) easy, but to make the code work right with all variables AND make it match with the models is a headache ( talking as someone who is not a game developer, but wishes to become one ).
@@danielm.595 Depends on game type, this one will definitely have a lot of code problems because it’s so big but otherwise it’s just a matter of figuring out the balance, the math, and just overall code to make things work. Models will not be that easy, but depending on how much they already have and how much they need to finish it could take a good couple of months or maybe even a year just to organize everything and stitch together a good part of the project (keep in mind I’m not a dev myself but I do have slight insight into these kind of things from watching a lot of devs and being in an IT shop in school) The hard part about this is that unlike normal tank games with little actual modularity you’ll have to constantly connect the code to different models and make sure they fit into another model, like putting in Biritsh guns on German chassis. This might be simple if the guns themselves weren’t also modular. Unless they are okay with clipping and stuff, then most of this isn’t quite necessary but that would probably make the game look unpolished and broken. Basically, you can’t have a tank with a gun sticking out of nowhere because the gun wasn’t designed with this tank in mind.
I can already see modders adding classified modern tank design and technology to the game, and the Army struggling to decide weather to arrest everyone involved or adding them to the staff
I randomly found this game a few years ago on Steam, downloaded the demo, played it, and I was pleasently surprised. I never heard anything from the game ever since until I found this video. I really hope this game takes off like Sprocket because until I found out about Sprocket this was one of my favourite games to play
Honestly this seems more interesting to me than Sprocket. I'd the "proving ground" section to be more refined with a little combat thrown in or maybe even just let us shoot at stationary enemy tanks or our tanks to test weapons and armor. More detailed post battle reports and how they worked in the field would be amazing. Crew comfort would be a HUGE thing like how brits have tea makers or you could have AC that improves crew longevity and function. Maybe have a maintenance section where the materials or way you design the tank makes it require more or less maintenance or makes the maintenance take longer/be more difficult due to location of parts. Otherwise so far I'm absolutely loving the game. I hope they push even further than modern tanks with some speculative stuff. Things we can see being worked on but maybe haven't been used yet. Would be interesting to see how that goes
I like the complexity of the contract awarding system, it's a lot more realistic as it's a chaotic process IRL. Like the Germans lying about the actual weight of the Leopard 2AV when submitted for US trials, or the M14 rifle getting adopted over the better FAL, or the L96 being made by a few guys in a shed and setting up a fake factory. It's a giant can of worms every time.
I am SO hyped for ATT. You wouldn't believe how many hours I sunk into the demo, to the point where I could confidently speedrun the demo multiple times in a row with zero failures. Can't wait for the release of ATT, and congrats on the sponsorship!
A tip. you can predesign parts and tanks. Save the parts in engineering without assigning worker. Head over to tank design. You can then design the tank, with the parts you pre made. That way you can make sure the tank is not over weight, or requires too many crew members. After that you can go back to engineering, and finish the designs.
As a Proud backer of the game: It has both Schnider tank and Saint chammond, alongside confirmed A7V, FT17, and as seen here, LK2. Like, the game do be fun, when you sell your tanks to EVERYONE, and as such you suddenly see your older design in conflict with your newer ones...
It didnt suck, and was actually better then henschel tiger (both were quite the disaster during testing). Even after 100mm of extra armor and full-sized 88mm.
13 more days. i played the demo back a year ago or smt when phly daily made a vid abt it, and i really liked it then, can't wait for it to actually release
To paraphrase Potential History, there is much debate about who invented the tank first, and by extension what is categorically recognized as a tank. Since the British were the first to actually shoot at someone with a tank, the credit should go to them.
now someone needs to model the module-designer of ATT with the armor shape designer of sprocket into hoi iv tank designer (with factories assignable to producing prototypes)
I recently picked up Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnaughts and played the hell out of it getting 30 hours on steam in a week, im sure i'll do the same with this game seeing as it decently similar but with my favorite history facet, tanks! (who could ever of guessed that!?). Who has 140 hours on Sprocket? couldn't be me...

Question: with the series on reacting to tanks in games, will you react to IL-2 Sturmovik: Tank Crew? It's one of the most detailed tank game of time up to now. Actually, I know it isn't your thing, but it is also one of the most detailed plane game of all time, too. Just remember though, if you do buy it for Tank Crew, buy 'Clash at Prokhorovka' DLC. Standard game has tanks, but those are the low detail early dev tanks. There's stuff like Panzer's, KV-2, T-34/76 (i think it's 76, one of the midwar turrets before the 85 at the least), SU-122 and 152, and a lend lease sherman. Also there is a StuG, but it's collector DLC so yeah. (ok there is also a Sd.Kfz AA and soviet AA trucks DLC but AA is kinda boring compared to the tanks)
I would like to make a suggestion for a game. Gunner, Heat, PC. It is a cold war tank game with M60s, M1s, T-72s, and many (many) more. still an early access game but it really good.
This game is an amazing game! My only gripe is that they had the release date set for Q3 of 2023 since 2021, and suddenly they removed it when the release date approached without any word to the followers. Now they’re giving out press releases again which seems odd, since they also gave functional press releases two years ago. I would really love to play this game, but this game is REALLY still in such early development. How did it take them one and a half years just to realize that the game wouldn’t be able to be released on time just 4 months away from release. Keep in mind, this is nothing against the developers, but how have they not gotten any slight bit farther than they were literally one to two years ago?
They’ve made tons of progress. The game is set to release in early access in just over a week from now. They’ve also changed a lot from the public demo that was available to the public earlier this year.
