Awesome rant my friend. We're getting our first significant snow in Wisconsin, light and fluffy now and going to get wet then crunchy by Monday. All the tires I have are 4.65" or smaller 1.7 & 1.9, even the 2.2s I have are small Baja MTXs, so it makes snow driving way more challenging and fun. The Proline bodies have gone down hill in the past 5 years, if I'm going to spend big money on a "scale" lexan body, I'll go Vanquish. That duratrax is a cute little piece of history.
Thanks buddy! Agreed smaller tire are more fun in the snow! Can't remember the last time I bought a new body 🤔 with the crawlers ii like to just repaint the old ones
Great Video as always… I agree seems like Proline has slipped a little bit in regards to having exact dimensions but I’m an old-timer I find myself gripping about quality or whatever about something for everyone’s product these days… But this hobby has come a long ways since I started back in the 80’s. Blows my mind really…
Great stuff, thank you. My dad loves the FMS Atlas!. He has neuropathy and still loves to drive the truck. Chases the grandkids with it too. One of the few things he can do. Its such a good hobby.
Thanks for the run footage of the Traxx. I’m definitely ready to see some 8x8’s in action. As for the Optic Kit, I get the idea but it’s still an expensive “kit” and I’d hate to pay that money and get a livery I didn’t want. I have mixed emotions there. Thanks for the video.
Great video. I really like what you're doing with the course over to 4 wheelers. That's pretty cool and clever. Your wife sounds just like my wife. I think they might be sisters. Lol
It's been in the teens here in Co. All week, balmy by your standards but cold just the same, I agree about the body thing don't like jconcept their scale is off and everything is pinched and now like you said Proline is off too. Nice let it fly have a good weekend.
That Vanquish kit reveal just had me all upset…. I bought a RTR swapped motor, servo, electronics, put on new wheels and JConcepts tires, you know all the things a KIT needs and boom they drop a kit 😤, so now I have to change things up (and it’s in the works). Guess the holiday threw a wrench in the regular Let it Fly Friday, seemed more informative that rant but I still enjoyed. Also thanks for stopping in on my regularly schedule Wednesday night livestream, I feel like I might be getting traction when the Big Guys start showing up 😎
🤣🤣🤣 if I was big I could figure out a livestream!🤣🤣 but really thanks. Vanquish does seem to be taking a new direction it's different for sure but it is nice to take care of the masses. I enjoyed the livestream.
@ you are the big guy on my feed 😎 but really I do watch a lot, but mostly smaller channels where I feel like the content is not “sponsored”, perfect example is Easyboy, I used to enjoy watching his channel because you never knew what he was going to drive and he always had fun…. Now it’s like a Redneck (and I mean that respectfully) FMS commercial, I ain’t knocking the company but I sure would like some variety again. If you want to livestream I’ll send you a link for a Wednesday night and we’ll figure it out 🤙
Proline doesn't pay Attention to detail like they used too ! I can't wait till you run them 8x8's 😊 As for the Optic kit , I think it's expensive for a barebones kit & you may not like the color panels that you get . In the snow which 6x6 is best , traxxas hauler or the axial unimog ?
Agree on the kit and proline, the unimog has better clearance but no 2 speed and the hauler is heavy so it can muscle its way though. But overall the mog does better
In regard to all the winter ahead, I wonder if a truck or two could have a plow installed and run it as backup for the Kyosho Blizzard in a mini plowing operation? What do you think?
Finally watching let it fly on a following Tuesday 😂, cold and crap weather has set in here as well sadly. I don't mess with lexan much mainly hardbody when it comes to scale for me. I feel Proline lexan bodies have wemt down hill to me. However the clucked up looking comp stuff still looks ok lol! As far as lexan FMS, Traxxas, redcat Carisma for me thats the better looking brands to me. As far as the Optic goes I personally feel people are just wrong calling ot a rock bouncer its actually way more of a crawler unless you really change the gearing. Honestly I'll take the optic over the VS4 I had I absolutely hated my VS4 lol!
@gerrysoldguyreview I have several videos of my optic up, truthful it's a fantastic crawler. I don't know why guys say rock racer unless you vet very creative with gearing or a high KV brushless system its definitely not a rock racer, definitely way more crawler to me. I'll be working on a video soon breaking down thoughts on it now that I have wheel time and I've been running a 2n1 2300KV system in it.
Hey Gerry hope you're doing well. I always enjoy your content and your collection. Out of 9 comments I read before I gave mine, no one even cared about the Duratrax Cliff Climber thats placed on your right. Ive always wanted one but never took the opportunity to buy one. Glad you own one, good to see it again. I would love to see a running video though...just a thought. 🫤
Well it's not Friday but I'm still enjoying the show with an adult beverage. Great show as always. Love the gelande mat. Never noticed that before!
Glad you could make it my friends!
Can't wait to watch after work. I work at the Zoo in Santa Barbara have a good day & congrats to the Lions.
Hope you enjoy it! And thanks

Seeing traxx and snow runs was cool.
Thank you buddy!
Bring it back to life!
Just need to grab a receiver and it's done!

Totally agree, I am still in awe some times with current electronics compared to what we had in the 80's!

Thanks friend, prepping the 8x8's this weekend hoping for some running next weekend!
Have you looked at FPV cameras for the crawlers? The pile of batteries on the shelving, I'm not the only one😂😂
I've made a few fpv videos pretty cool 😎
Great video. I really like what you're doing with the course over to 4 wheelers. That's pretty cool and clever.
Your wife sounds just like my wife. I think they might be sisters. Lol
Thanks 👍 wish I could take credit but it sure is nice for extra room. I think all RC wives are similar 🤔

Well thank you for sure!
Just finished my first kit, and would love a suggestion on a 2-speed trail truck that isn’t pro level
Hello Zachary 👋 what kit did you build? So far my most reliable 2 speed rigs are trx4 and trailfinder 2
@ I went big and built a AE T6.4 to try and race with. Want to build more than race is what I found out! TF2 is on my radar
Both excellent choices 👌

Have already started checking out plow kits!

Now I might have to try the optic! Totally agree on the bodies company's they make some fine rigs! I have been thinking about getting some comp bodies
