As someone who’s run forklifts in multiple applications, and was one of the main reasons i bought a tractor, this is an awesome design, if i didnt already have a set of forks this would be top of my list, the modularity, and versatility and thought put into this is amazing…really making me think how to justify having a second set🤔. Great job guys!
@@jeepjeffy04 yeah pretty well right. Look at the loader of a typical modern compact tractor then compare them to the loader or mounts for a real earth moving machine.
@@jeepjeffy04 You're just now tell me I shouldn't be using a 2 bottom moldboard plow on the FEL of my BX Kubota? Dang, guess those weird ball things on the back have their use after all! ROFL
I purchased a set of these a month after I bought a tractor from good works. (I know, should have bought them at the beginning). My feedback is the parking stands are fantastic for when you need to switch back and forth between bucket and forks several times doing one clearing tasks. Chain hooks are great too. The bolt on headache rack I would buy and use it as needed. My only negative is that the JDQA top hooks are at an angle where they hit the piston sleeves when you pull the forks all the way in. But they had to cut the weight so I get it. Only happened to me once or twice. These are excellent forks though! I’ve carried some small logs on the back while carrying a load of split firewood in the bucket. Cut my trips in half!
I just received my order, can't wait to try these out! Of course now you have green! I should have waited a week. I actually probably would have picked black anyway if I had the choice.
What would be swell is if you could add a set of those upper JDQA cups on the front of the fork set frame/bulkhead, this would allow you to pick up the forks BACKWARDS on your front end loader so you can now fit your forks & tractor on a trailer without spinning the forks around by hand. I work for a tractor dealer moving tractors & implements all day everyday, my only complaint with forks is they make the tractor 2-4 feet longer than it was without anything on it so unless you set them on the trailer then break your back turning them around to fit under the front of the tractor (TWICE since you get to do it again to unload) you'll need a longer trailer. I think this improvement solves a big issue few have considered but all would envy. And all it takes is mounting 2 more of those JDQA upper cups directly opposite of the current ones so someone can pick them up backwards just long enough to park on the trailer - or in the case of shed storage you can now have the bulkhead against the wall to consume much less space.
Just got mine in last week and immediately used them the break down the rest of the pallet of goodies. Loving them so far. Glad to know that I can leave the lower 3pt links down on my JDQA. I noticed the tines hit them when they are up. Also, that will keep them in a position where they are always ready front or rear. Really love the design.
Shouldve put a 2nd receiver tube in the same spot as the one you have put on the top of the center bar. Some trailers sit higher than what the 3pt goes up.
Clever design. Mine are JDQA only. I bought them to help move materials for when I was building my deck... definitely a back saver. I've found that I've used them for a lot more than I thought I would.
I just bought one for my JD tractor and absolutely love them so far.. I have already used them for pallets, downed limbs from storm damage, moving logs, and corner posts.
Vert nice. I'd like to have this attachment. However, I need hay bail spears too. Maybe on the next design, add the sleeves for hay bail spears? Then I would buy ASAP.
Good to see the progress you've made. I'm working on finding some IBC totes to use for various projects (firewood, brush bins, water totes, etc.). This would make "flip-flopping" forks for other uses much easier
I'm glad you made the idea happen, and US made too. I've been putting off getting forks, waiting for these. In addition to forks, a tow hitch receiver, and weight rack, they'd make a great base for a heavy duty carryall that could be easily dropped and recovered, very versa...
Wild guess that you may be into honey bees? I just setup my first hive today. Well, I had the hive ready, but my nuc was delivered. New adventure for me :)
Some ideas: chain slots on the top, similar to the Artillian frame. A hook like add on to the top rail, that would catch the lip on a trash bin. Something similar to the edge tamer add on for trash bins. I realize I could put the bins on a pallet, but what fun is that? For one bin, I use my quick hitch’s hook and a 1/2 pipe across the bottom slots.
What a great product you really put a lot of effort into getting it right. I am definitely going to order one and if you design a rack that can be added I would definitely order one as well.
I have some static solid steel rear forks that weigh a metric ton but don't bat an eye on lift - these are much more usable haha - on my LX2610SU I can't get the tips all the way to the ground though like you can
Well that is interesting. Having been a forklift operator anong other things in my life idk of i would want these on the back of a forklift because while driving i couldn't see the load
I guess I don't get it... I see a lot of positive comments below but you couldn't unload a truck or trailer with this limit in lift height. So it's just for moving stuff around on the ground?
I tend to store a ton of stuff on pallets and move them around often during the season. I don't need much more than a few inches of height as it's repositioning, not loading. Perhaps others do similar tasks where height is not required.
You can pick more with your 3 point so if you did have something dropped on a pallet , you could move it around. It could be handy, without hydro top link could be a pita, not real sure.
Forks are a poor man's grapple. You could essentially double the load you're moving if you had forks on the back. Load up with the grapple, then slide the forks under another log or brush pile. Point being, if you didn't have forks, why would you not want a set that is more versatile? At least, that's how my mind works. More options, the better.
I notice that you have the rear forks on the JD basically hanging off the top hook, which puts all the weight on the two pins in the hook. Is this considered "correct", or should the pins be fully seated in the pin carriers at the bottom, and the hook should be in the set of holes that give the fullest seating without carrying any weight? I also usually use a bushing on the top link pin so it fully engages front to back in the hook and doesn't bang around.
Just had an idea: What if you applied this same concept to a box blade? 3 point mounts for use spreading/grading material in the summer, SSQA for snow removal in the winter. Skid shoes could be attached with pins. Just give me a discount on it if you make it lmao
Add a headache back with a second row for forks. The upper set would help to stabilize the load and also be used as a spear mount. Using the lower forks for weight and the spear more for stability of load. The upper forks would help when moving saplings with a big dirt ball. The bags of sand and gravel handles go on there and the lower forks carry most of the weight lower.
4-6k capacity (just for peace of mind) and a headache rack and they would be perfect. Unfortunately I’ll probably be buying a set before that happens.😪
Won't be building a version at that rating. No compact tractor lifts 4k lbs. Hardly 3k on the biggest. Even more rare for compact tractors to actually lift that much...most loads are under 1,000 lbs...big loads 1,500-2k lbs.
Is it the tines or the frame or both with the 1 ton weight limit? If I started with these on a >1 ton lift capacity tractor, could I simply upgrade (or increase the number of) the tines to safely lift more?
