  • @Cephalopod51
    @Cephalopod51 3 роки тому +5

    This was one of my favorite Marvel vs DC skits from ItsJustSomeRandomGuy. The clash between Rorschach and Wolverine, the inclusion of Sabretooth, and the dialogue were perfect. And Sabretooth's question about the whores in Rorschach's iconic speech was inspired.
    But in all seriousness, a combination of the X-Men's and Watchmen's sensibilities would be sheer awesomeness. I don't think Dave Gibbons ever did an X-Men comic, but I could see his art style for Watchmen suiting X-Men perfectly. While Alan Moore never wrote for Marvel, I could see someone channeling Moore's writing style for a Watchmen-like X-Men without turning into imitation. I can already see how the X-Men, the Brotherhood of Mutants, Magneto, the Morlocks, the Sentinels, William Stryker, and others could be portrayed in such a comic book series.

    • @VisionQuest057
      @VisionQuest057 10 років тому +12

      It's true they dropped the original ending in the movie, but can you imagine Hollywood trying to faithfully re-create a 9-dimensional (or whatever) hyper-intelligent Eldritch squid-monster on 2D film with CGI? Especially after all the dark musings and heavy drama of the movie up until that point? It would come out as unintentionally comical for sure. It _is_ the rightful and true ending, but ya know they would have bungled it all to shit, and even if they didn't, no one outside the original graphic novel's fandom would "get it" at all, and would probably laugh their asses off at the end and then give the movie shitty reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. It was probably the better choice to go the way they did, but I feel your pain. We all do.

    1:12 - WOLVERINE: Guess what? When you make a franchise movie, you want the most possible people to see them so you can make more of them.
    DEADPOOL: (Comes in, petting Wolverine on the head) Awwww that's soooooo cute Jimmy, believing you need to cater to younger audiences just for higher box office results. (Wolverine grunts in frustration as Wade removes his hand away) No see what you want to do is advertise your awesome tacular property so regardless of what it's rated, everyone's gonna want to see it.
    WOLVERINE: Yeah that still only goes so far bub.
    DEADPOOL: I'd be down for an X rated X pick but eh maybe I'll just release the uncut takes of me and Vanessa's holiday sextacular to the local porn hub. (Points at Wolverine) Point is, and see how I used point like in the paranethesis action, that PG-13 excuse is kind of an outdated crutch... well now, not in 2009 with the original video but yeah you get people pumped enough for it and you can get an R. Heck I think I'm going to get you an R for your final outing so you can actually use those claws of yours to cut foes up however you wish.
    WOLVERINE: (Sighs) Yeah I'd probably be for that.
    ROSEARCH: Hghmmmm and then you can sell your generic 90's action plot around disguised as a super hero romp to whoever you want.
    DEADPOOL: (Shrugs) Eh my comic origin story isn't terribly that different anyway and really the awesomness of me is... moreso me then whatever story I'm stuck in so it works out whatever I'm in.... you know full potential not "why are you screwing over the best aspect of this movie that might of salvaged it" thing that wound up happening first.

      @@XX-sp3tt DEADPOOL: Uh why are you acting like I'm dead when I'm clearly not? Not in the comics or the movies or shows or well any medium due to my still uber popularity. Plus wrongly spelled Rorschach, yes Di know she misspelled it as well so she's being hypocritical again, even if you are as important as the supposed actually about to end Doomsday Clock says you are, considering you aren't apart of HBO's Watchmen series I don't think we'll see any video version of you for oooh say maybe a decade at most.
      RORSCHACH: And what does that have to do with my pursuit of justice?
      DEADPOOL: Eh probably not much but you ain't making that bank. *twirls gun* While I... have to probably re talk to Disney Marvel again about what my place will be coming up. And it better involve a third movie or at very least Disney+ series getting an upcoming announcement. Ryan Reynolds isn't getting any younger and if the only thing he has coming up is the Hitman Wife's Bodyguard, any more relevant.

Like seems the only actual watchmen around are Jean Smart's take on old Silk Spectre the second and possibly a Dr. Manhattan cameo and... that's it. Otherwise seems more a Regina King/HBO trying to find it's next Game of Thrones hopefully with a good ending this time project at this point.

    @MetalChickenStudios Um Siegel and Schuster (Superman's creators)
    tried to sell Superman to the syndicate newspapers and to Will Eisner,
    they both declined, they then took the character to DC
    (who eventually shafted Siegel and Schuster in regards to profits from the character copyright etc, see Men Of Tomorrow)
    DC actually had some doubts about Superman in the beginning,
    and Timely (Marvel) Comics was a pulp company and didn't start creating comics until 1939 when Superman was already

    Moore seriously needs to just to give it a shot. It is easily one of the most impressive adapations ever made. Seeing how it was everything Moore claims movies based off his comics can not be. He often states that everything can only be done in comics as he writes them, but the "Watchmen" movie was all of that and more. Being very immersive and very faithful, "Watchmen" has easily exceeded most expectations and Moore should atleast acknowledge the film's nearly divine existance.

    You said the movie was boring. Up until the events towards the end, however, it more or less followed the comic; to say that the movie was boring is the equivalent of calling the comic boring, if not more so, because they cut out some things. Like most of Moore's work, this comic was made for people who like to think; it's not going to be action packed.

    Logan- Don't you ever shut up?
    Wade- Only when I'm asleep.
    I also liked Gambit. He at least did stuff like fight Wolverine for a bit. Overrall, Wolverine isn't great. But it's still pretty good.

    i enjoyed the Watchmen movie, to which Alan Moore had no part in and was firmly against making; he even asked for his name to be taken out of the credits. And I was unaware of this new series, so i'll look it up (i guess i was't left wanting, huh).

    (I'm finishing my comment because I ran out of room from my last comment)
    People should be lucky that Wade Wilson was wisecracking, sarcastic, and funny in the movie and not just a random swords guy with no personalty. Therefore, if there was a Deadpool movie. It will show Deadpool's full costume and more of his origins. Him wisecracking as Deapool, breaking the fourth wall even more, etc...
    I think Wade Wilson was not the full Deadpool in the movie, but he was "Weapon X1"

    I don't get the Alan Moore thing. Aside from a few minor things, how different was the Watchmen screenplay from the comic, REALLY?

    I wish they would make more R rated superhero movies. The intensity the rating allows adds so much to the characters personality. Continue making the PG13 for the younguns but us True Believers from the old days can handle the moe gritty storylines.

    @MetalChickenStudios Cont
    established at DC, DC was by this time already starting to build its superhero franchise with the creation of Batman in 1939 so I don't think Marvel could have exactly "bought Superman out" by this point although Martin Goodman who ran the company would have loved to have copied the character (except for the fact DC would go after any company that tried that with a vengance like they did with Fox Comics in 1939 when they tried to copy Superman)

    He's liked a few adaptations. IIRC he liked the Justice League cartoon's adaptation of For The Man Who Has Everything, and Saturday Morning Watchmen if you count that.

    Did anyone else catch that "possibly homosexual, must remember to investigate further" is a direct quote from the watchmen book. I mean he wasn't talking about wolverine in it obviously but he says it about veidt i think.

    The first X-men movie did have a lot of Wolverine but it was also about Rogue. And X-men 3 was also kind of about Jean Grey.

    Yeah, speaking of end results, how long did it take you to end the conversation with that approach, 3 or 4 pages of nonstop bickering?
    Good job there.
    They could've done a better job on the trailers, but I'm not going to hold that against the movie.
    I suggest you try JTHM anyway. There are a couple of depressing parts, but there are plenty of manic portions to compensate, with a majority of the story being...
    introspective dialogue, that's right.
