Alison Moyet is perfect for interpretation of this marvelous song. An underappreciated artist here in the United States, I've been privileged enough to have been listening to Alison since the early eighties. She and Cilla both are amazing.

Not sure how I feel about this performance. I love Alison Moyet but this isn't her best performance. Guess I'm just too in love with Cilla's flawless classic version from a million years ago.
It sounds very nice, but it's just a little out of Alison's reach. It's a very difficult song and her voice just can't move quickly enough - she's constantly chasing it. Cilla's voice is much more nimble and the higher register also allows a more bell-like resonance and dimension to the delivery..... Cilla's approach isn't perfect but the song just suits her better - she's superior on this one.
Alison Moyet is one of my all time female singers , but I don’t think this song suits her. In my opinion the best performer of this song is Josie James. She toured for years with Burt Baccarat.
Is he the same fella as Burt Bacharach? I've never heard of Burt Baccarat !! Still you obviously know enough about music to think that this song doesn't suit Moyet but not quite there on knowing the name of one of the most legendary composers of the 20th century. Keep up the good work with " Baccarat" 😂😂
Wrong song for her. 3/4 is too hurried for Moyet’s slow vibrato. She can’t get comfortable with any one note because the time signature is stealing one quarter note per bar. No grace period.
