*JUST REALIZED THIS IS MY 100th VIDEO FOR THIS CHANNEL... GREAT TIMING WITH MY 65TH BIRTHDAY TODAY.*

*ARTHUR BROWN DROPS BY OUR LIVE CHAT:* ua-cam.com/video/o08HU_ONV9U/v-deo.html
Fantastic! Congrats on everything
I bet I know which song was constantly in your head on the same day one year previous. And no, it wasn't Fred Wedlock's Oldest Swinger in Town 🙂
I've been a Beatles freak since the age of 14, but unlike the majority of Beatles fans, I tend to favour the early Beatles catalogue over their middle and later period. My absolute fave Beatles album is Beatles VI, the American version of Beatles for Sale. Every song is a gem, and some are simply spectacular in their brilliance ("Eight Days a Week," "Kansas City," "What You're Doing," "Yes It Is"). This album and A Hard Day's Night to me represent something of an acme in the Beatles artistry. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed Larry's presentation and found myself mostly nodding in agreement to his choice of favourite songs for each album. Well done, sir!
1 Northern Songs
2 Rubber Soul
3 White album
4 Let it Be
5 Revolver
6 Sgt. Pepper
7 Help!
8 Beatles For Sale
9 A Hard Days Night
10 Abbey Road
11 With The Beatles
12 Please Please Me
# 1 is a my fantasy hybrid of Magical Mystery Tour & Yellow Submarine. Happy Birthday Larry!
Happy OFFICIAL birthday Larry! Hope you're having a really great day. And congrats also on reaching the "Century" mark...in videos anyway...As for those folks who claim Sgt. Pepper sounds "dated," you have to wonder what they'd say about Beethoven's Fifth Symphony or Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture since they were written way, WAY before 1967...As for favorite Beatles albums, my two favorites are Rubber Soul and Revolver.
Wishing a fabulous 65th Birthday to the wonderful Larry Graves, who continues to produce great videos and topics every day. As someone who has reached this milestone myself , I can testify that the best and more rewarding years are still ahead of you . Cheers Larry
Many thanks!
Happy Birthday Larry, you're getting better all the time!,and I think Sgt.Pepper is the Beatles best album although the American Rubber Soul is my favorite Beatles album. Bob
Hi Larry. Aussie Vinyl Guy-Wayne here. Loved your ranking and I tend to agree with your order except one 🤣. Beatles For Sale I love so much because I grew up with it. But apart from that I like your commentary. Cheers. Glenn kellaway messaged me recently and I was so glad to hear from him. I will do my ranking next week. Keep up the great work.
Nice response Larry, I had no idea this would become the thread it became, so many people have reranked the catalog. The White Album? Never heard it, who knows, maybe it'll be my favorite when I hear it! Thanks for the shout out.
Thanks Sam! I figured it was you that started it, as Glen never thinks of his own ideas, ha ha ha!
That's why he claims the Beatles are his favorite, it's because everyone says that
Happy birthday! Nice way to celebrate it 😉 If I had to rank those 13 masterpieces today, I think my favorite would be With The Beatles. I was listening to it this morning and had a fab time.. 4 highlights : It Won't Be Long, All My Loving, Please Mr. Postman and You Really Got a Hold On Me. But that's just today. I'll probably change my mind about everything tomorrow... 😁
Happy bday Larry! You stayed pretty consistent over the years with your picks. As is the case with their catalog, there are no wrong answers...
Happy Birthday!! Thanks for the vids:)
Happy birthday Larry. I cant argue with your rankings at all. I ranked them about 6 months ago so Im not doing it again but Ive got a different Beatles ranking planned…..
Great to see you join in on this Beatles thread. Enjoyed seeing your spin on these classics. The Mark Farner interview was awesome regardless of what that "Negative Nancy" said. Happy Birthday Larry.
Happy birthday Studmuffin❤

Hey Larry, I just saw your rankings today and I see you included the two albums of fave songs.. I agree..in some ways all the Beatles songs have been favorites over the years. My daughter and I loved Magical Mystery Tour and played this album when she was young back in 1986 or so, we just got so much out of the album. I had a nice copy with the Red Capitol label, very thin record but the stereo was fantastic !! I loved the Flying instrumental and then into Blue Jay Way, I loved the movements on that album as much as Sgt. Pepper. Abbey Road SIde 1 and the White album Side 1 are unbeatable !! Good rankings. I got to get caught up on your other shows. Take care. Thanks !!
Happy birthday! And many more! It’s snowing here too.
Ok I’ll try a quick Beatles ranking for this second in time…

Nice Beatles Album Ranking And Ofcourse Happy Birthday Larry 👍✌🎉🎁🎊🎂🍰
I know this is an older video, but here is my ranking
13. Yellow Submarine - Love hey bulldog, nothing else stands out to me
12. Please Please Me - I like it, but i like what they "evolved" into more
11. With the Beatles - Same thoughts as please please me
10. A hard day's night - I like it but the others more
9. White Album - A lot of incredible songs, but too many skips for me to put it any higher
8. Abbey Road - I get why other people like it, but idk, nothing really sticks out to me on it as much as the others
7. Let it be - i like it idk what else to say
6. Magical Mystery Tour
5. Beatles for Sale - underrated, i used to play this album all the time up until a couple of years ago (still listen to it a lot)
4. Sgt pepper - Such a fun psychedelic pop - y album
3. Help - got me into the band and has so many fun, underrated songs
2. Rubber soul
1. Revolver - So many songs, and a wide variety of masterpieces, the album is an adventure that feels like an acid trip to listen to
Happy Birthday Larry. They look a little chunkier on Beatles for Sale.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARRY!!
Wow! I just completed a ranking recently and we have a similar list. I even made the same "number 9, number 9" joke and talked about how Revolution 9 used to scare me but now I enjoy it. Picking 4 favorite songs off each LP was a nice bonus!
Happy birthday❤❤❤❤Sam was the first to get this going..maybe that guy should hone his commenting skills before embarrassing himself as an idiot…With The Beatles seems to get ranked low by lots of people..I love that album..great Beatles sings and amazing covers..Pepper is number one Larry!!! The greatest album of all time..great job Larry..enjoyed your ranking👍❤glen
Yeah, "Pepper" is #1. 😁 Rolling Stone magazine used to rate "With The Beatles" much higher than most would. I think that album holds a special place in Beatle fans' hearts who were there at the outset of their popularity in North America. For many of those late '63/ early '64 fans, "With The Beatles" (or actually "Beatlemania! With The Beatles" or "Meet The Beatles") would have been their first Beatles album. And they would equate that with The Beatles first appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show". "Sgt. Pepper" holds a special place for me, as that was the first full studio album I ever bought with my own money. Where "Meet The Beatles" or "Beatlemania!" probably was for those early Beatles fans.
Happy Birthday mate!
Happy birthday Larry. Great to see your Beatles ranking and we have a lot of albums in the same position. I won't join the thread because I only did mine a few months ago. Enjoy your day
Happy Birthday Larry! Really looking forward to that Michael Noland crossover. His channel has grown so much lately, and both of you have been entertaining me for a long time!
Thanks. He had to cancel due to construction noise outside but we will set it up again for sure.
Happy birthday Larry
Yes, I think the White album wins, but Revolver sneaks into second place for me. Ramsey Lewis does a really nice instrumental version of ‘Julia’ from the double White. I’m putting Magical Mystery Tour third because I find myself humming more songs off that than off Sgt. Pepper or Abbey Road, those being ‘Fool on the Hill’, ‘Your Mother Should Know’ and ‘Baby your a Rich Man’.
Happy birthday Larry. It's not grey. It's free organic hilights. I've got them too. Great video. Hard Days Night is my favourite then Abbey Road.
White Album is also my favorite. It's just got everything. And Revolution 9 is phenomenal.

For me: 1.Revolver-it changed albums forever. 2.Abbey Road 3.Rubber Soul 4.White album 5. Help!
Hey 65 year old Larry! Congrats!!
My favorite album will always be Revolver from 1966. Let's face it, that was the album that changed it all.
1966 was also the year of Pet Sounds.
You did great reviews of both albums, thanx for that!
BUT!!!!! 1966 Was also the year when The Rolling Stones released "Aftermath".
I would SO love to hear from you what you think of that record.
You mentioned in a previous Rolling Stones video that "Aftermath" is not in your CD collection. It's worth the purchase!
In conclusion... (and that's a bit cheeky of me) could you please do an album review on "Alpha Zulu" by Phoenix?
If you are a SPARKS enthusiast, this should be turned on (VERY ,VERY LOUD🤣🤣) in your car, right?😋
Thank you fot all your great videos, I'll be watching them over and over again!
On to the next 65 years!!!
Happy birthday, Larry! Great ranking!
My ranking:

Hello Sir
I would like to wish you a very happy birthday and I hope that you have an awesome day with your loved ones
Ranking The Beatles albums or John Lennon’s solo albums is a very difficult task because they are all wonderful so I congratulate you for making this video
I agree with you about the White album being their number one album only because it is a double album, but in general, they are all awesome, except for the Yellow Submarine album
Anyways, happy birthday once again, and I will hear you on the next video
The BEATLES is a great pick, I'd agree. It has everything you want from the band in one package, hence the title. Makes for a great yin and yang relationship with Sgt. Pepper. And happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! Have a Fab birthday!
Happy birthday mate. I hope you have a good one.
I agree with your top pick but I tend to prefer the earlier albums, although I am not too keen on the early singles..... perhaps it's to do with overfamiliarity.
1 White album
2 Rubber Soul
3 Please Please Me
4 Revolver
5 A Hard Day’s Night
6 With the Beatles
7 Let It Be
8 Help
9 Beatles For Sale
10 Sgt Pepper
11 Abbey Rd
12 Magical Mystery Tour
13 Yellow Submarine
Disclaimer - I agree that Sgt Pepper and Abbey Rd are two of the greatest albums of all time, it's just that I never have the desire to play them.
I like the my favorite today idea. When I think of the Beatles (today) I think Revolver, Rubber Soul and Sgt Pepper. Thought provoking stuff! Thanks! 😎
The White Album is my number 1 too .I got it when it first came out and memorized it, it taught me that you can play any style of music...there is no filler.A true work of brilliance .
Missed this one. Fun discussion. For me:
1. Revolver
2. White Album
3. Abbey Road
4. Rubber Soul
5. Magical Mystery Tour
6. Sgt. Pepper
7. Help
I always want to list Beatles For Sale higher because of No Reply but it's second to last on my list.
1. White Album
2. Revolver
3. Rubber Soul
4. Abbey Road
5. Sgt Pepper
6. MMT
7. Hard Day's Night
8. Help
9. With the Beatles
10. Please Please Me
11. Beatles For Sale
12. Let It Be
13. Yellow Submarine
Happy Birthday, Larry!
My favorite Beatles currently is "the white album" - The Beatles.
This is a great list Larry! I'm more of an Abbey Road guy myself but The White Album is a great pick. I think that the 'dated' argument is valid tho. I don't think it applies to Sgt. Pepper (one of the GOATs of music), but there are certainly some albums that have used certain topics and language that haven't stood the test of time, which is how a quantify dated. For instance, I don't think Abbey Road is dated in the slightest because all the songs could be applied to someone's life today and still work. Nevertheless, it's nice to know that The Beatles are still resonating with fans to this day.
The White Album is also my favorite Beatles album. I love it so much. My top eight would be Dear Prudence, Blackbird, Julia, I Will, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Helter Skelter, and Revolution 1.
Happy Birthday Larry
Are you going to re rank all the songs again?
I loved it when you did that, but I guess it’s a one off
Yes... never again. I was pretty wiped out by the end of the series, thanks.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday 🎂🎉.
Thank you! 🤗
Happy Birthday Larry, you look 10 years younger than your age. Enjoyed your ranking, its virtually the same as mine, the only difference is, being from the UK, I don't consider MMT an official album, I see it more like Past Masters, so I wouldn't include it. Everything else I agree with. The White Album has always been my favourite album by anyone, although Abbey Rd is only a whisker behind. Peace!
Happy 65th Birthday, Larry
It's hard for me to rank them. But If I had to pick only one Beatles album, it would be the White Album...
Hi Larry I have loved these albums all my life revolver was greatly improved on the Uk version I have a hard time ranking them I just love them all. I was wondering why you didn't include the past masters that has all the songs that weren't on the albums.
1. Magical mystery tour 2. Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band 3. Revolver 4. Abbey Road 5. The Beatles (The White album) 6. Rubber Soul 7. Help! 8. A Hard day's night 9. Let it be 10. A Beatles for sale 11. With the Beatles 12. Please, please me 13. Yellow Submarine
The White Album is the Bible of modern music. The most extraordinary rock'n'roll album ever recorded.
Very similar to the last list. I expected "Let It Be" to be much higher. I would've had it right near the bottom, before the "Get Back" documentary. It's a few notches higher now. I've always had "Sgt. Pepper" at #1. But, it was the first Beatles studio album I ever heard, and my first studio album in general. It just so happened to always be #1 on most all-time albums lists as well. Sadly, not anymore. Happy Birthday!!
Happy birthday Larry (even if I'm a little late)
1. Abbey Road (Come Together, I Want You, Something)
2. The Beatles (Helter Skelter, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Dear Prudence, Julia)
3. Sgt. Pepper (Lucy in the Sky, A Day in the Life, Within You Without You)
4. Revolver (Taxman, Love You To, Tomorrow Never Knows, Here There and Everywhere)
5. Rubber Soul (In My Life, Michelle, Girl)
6. Let it Be (For You Blue, Let it Be, One After 909)
7. Magical Mystery Tour (Flying, Strawberry Fields Forever)
8. Help! (Help!, Another Girl, I Need You)
9. A Hard Day's Night (I'll Be Back, Can't Buy Me Love, And I Love Her)
10. With the Beatles (Hold Me Tight, Till There Was You, I Wanna Be Your Man)
11. Please Please Me (Boys, Twist and Shout, I Saw Her Standing There)
12. Beatles for Sale (Eight Days a Week, I Don't Want to Spoil the Party, I'm a Loser)
13. Yellow Submarine (Hey Bulldog, It's All Too Much, Only a Northen Song)
Now I'm really fully appreciating George Harrison, both in the Beatles and his solo career❤
Edit: man, I've just noticed you don't consider Abbey Road as your favourite Beatles album😮😮😮😮
Larry: All the best. A lot of health. The Beatles' discography is incomparable to any other band. Your ranking is perfect. What is your opinion on The Beatles albums published after 1970? I mean: compilations, anthologies, bootlegs, which of these albums would you recommend to someone younger?
I think the best anthology is the red and blue albums.
5:17 to 5:40 good argument. Perhaps they wanted a little break at the year end '63 and' 64 but were forced to write more songs for a christmas release. It's so hard for me to downjudge those two albums. They're usually ranked very low on most lists. But I love early Beatles more than late Beatles so I cherish every one of their first 4 at least.
My ranking:
1 Sgt Pepper’s
2 Revolver
3 The White Album
4 Abbey Road
5 Rubber Soul
6 Help!
7 A Hard Day’s Night
8 Beatles For Sale
9 Please Please Me
10 With The Beatles
11 Magical Mystery Tour
12 Yellow Submarine
13 Let It Be
Lookin' good for 65
Thanks very much, Michael and thanks for all the support!
13. Yellow Submarine
12. Beatles for sale
11. With the Beatles
10. Let it be
9. Help
8. Please please me
7. Magical mystery tour
6. Rubber soul
5. A hard days night
4. White album
3. Sgt pepppers lonely hearts club band
2. Abbey road
1. Revolver
Hi Larry, Unlike the critics back in the day, I'm pleased to see you still have a little more love for 'Beatles For Sale' than 'With The Beatles,' which always gets more than its fair share. My one issue with the latter is, while the self-penned tracks are typically great, I've never really liked their choice of covers.
Will you still need me when you're 65?
Happy Birthday!!
I think yours is a great list, including WHITE ALBUM due to all the great songs. I would put REVOLVER at the top, but other than that, we're pretty much dead-on.
Happy Birthday, Larry! I like your list. Mine is fairly similar:
Abbey Road
White Album
Revolver
Magical Mystery Tour
Rubber Soul
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Help!
Let It Be
Please Please Me
A Hard Day’s Night
With The Beatles
Beatles For Sale
Yellow Submarine
Besides switching With the Beatles and Please please me, and switching Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper, I 100% would rank mine just like you man!!💪💪
Any album with John Lennon comes in at #1 for me.
BTW- have you ever done a video on the Eels?
Nope... never got into them, sorry.
Agree about your top 5 except take Pepper out and switch it with Rubber Soul. Magical Mystery Tour would be my #1. Id rank- With the Beatles- much higher though. I guess its the covers that put people off...
Why dont we do it in the roooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE that song
I don't know anything about the Magical Mystery Tour being officially recognised as an album now but I think it is interesting to note that none of your favourite songs from that album actually appeared on what was originally the double EP as released in the UK. When I rank it below, I rank it as I've always known it, as just the double EP and without all the singles lumped in with it as it now is on the album.
1) Revolver
2) Abbey Road
3) Beatles For Sale
4) Rubber Soul
5) Please Please Me
6) The White Album
7) Sgt. Pepper
8) Help
9) Hard Day's Night
10) With the Beatles
11) Let It Be
12) Magical Mystery Tour
13) Yellow Submarine
Magical Mystery Tour is now known as an official album worldwide since The Beatles box set was released in 2009. Thanks!
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin I'm sure you're correct. For me though, putting Strawberry Fields & Penny Lane in with the Magical Mystery Tour songs just doesn't feel right. As I'm sure you know, they were early recordings from the Sgt. Pepper sessions (recorded back in November '66). All You Need is Love, Hello Goodbye & Baby You're a Rich Man were at least from the Magical Mystery Tour sessions. Whatever way you look at it, the addition of those songs certainly strengthened it's qualities as an album.
1. White album (9/10)
2. Abbey road (9/10)
3. Magical mystery tour (8.5/10)
4. Sgt. Peppers (8.5/10)
5. Revolver (8/10)
6. Rubber soul (8/10)
7. Help! (7/10)
8. Let it be (6/10)
9. A hard day's night (6/10)
10. Beatles for sale (5.5/10)
11. Please please me (5.5/10)
12. With the Beatles (5.5/10)
13. Yellow submarine (5/10)
The clip from six years ago- I didn’t realise you talked so fast.
My five:
The White Album
Revolver
Pepper
Rubber Soul
Magical Mystery Tour - side 2
As I look back, The Beatles were a great Pop band. Not really Rock for the most part.
The Stones were a true Rock Band. Aftermath thru Exile. Great rock songs and by far better that the Fab Four.
Just turned 73.
My god, "by far" is crazy. If the Beatles are "by far" worse then the Stones... then your Stones are a roaches turd compared to Led Zeppelin.
I’ve always preferred Abbey R over White Album as being their best; that said, the White Album has some essential classics. For me, if it were a single album, it would be #1… But, to each his own, right! I enjoy your videos…
How about here there and everywhere? Surely you love it
I love all 14 songs...
Here, There and Everywhere is Macca's Beatles favourite song
Happy bday and for me white album would be somewhere in the middle mine would probably be rubber soul agree on yellow submarine being last my 12 yr old age at the time loved the Monkees Motown pop I'd hear revolver or sgt Pepper's I didn't get the songs my friends my age didn't get it either I could now on course but 12 years olds was over their heads great show or is it shooo as ed Sullivan would say
It’s hard to rank the Beatles albums- but St Pepper and Abbey Road are my favourites
George Martins biggest mistake. The Beatles were putting out multiple albums per year but Sgt Pepper too a while understandably. and because it took so long the Record company pleaded and begged for something and then this happens. 2 songs that were to be on Pepper get released as a double sided 45 rpm and its Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. and because they were released and OUT there Martin decided NOT to put them on the album. UGH, big mistake. Certainly 2 weaker songs on Pepper could have been replaced and these 2 titantic Beatles songs go on that album to make it the Number 1 album of all time. 2 songs I'd take out from Pepper would be With in you, with out you .and When I'm sixty four. Imagine Strawberry Fields after Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Penny Lane after its Getting Better?
Putting aside the largely non-Beatles Yellow Submarine, I'd like to comment on your favourite and least favourites-
I too think that of all the fully Beatles albums With... is the weakest. In fact I've done in my head many times a top three tracks for each LP, both in entirety and also their originals only. Sadly, in the latter category, I can only come up withy two that I actually like and enjoy on this one, All my Loving and It Won't be Long. As for the cover and serious-faced comparisons with ...For Sale I think this one is meant to be artistic, the other a deliberate comment on their weariness and impatience with the music business machine driving them to such a point for their own ££££/$$$$ ends.
As you say, some people love The White Album as a whole and find it sacrilege to consider reducing it, others - obviously George Martin included - would have seen it cut to a single disc, but I am just about in the middle. One-and-a-half would be my baby bear. There would be far too much genuinely excellent music lost to us with such a cut to halving but I'm not really much of a fan of any of side four beyond the wonderfully creepy Cry Baby Cry, including the equally unsettling outro (which leads perfectly into the even more ominous next track, even though I'd be axing this one) and possibly what is for me, along with All Together Now, a guilty pleasure which is Goodnight. Guilty or legitimate, these two? And beyond side four, each other side has at least one song I can do without.
I like The Beatles up until '65. I *LOVE* them from Rubber Soul onwards. Only Dylan's three pre-motor bike crash, electric period and The Kinks when going into that late '60s concept album phase can even live with them in my book.
12. Yellow Submarine: Hey Bulldog, It's All Too Much
11. With The Beatles: Till There Was You, Please Mr Postman, You Really Got A Hold On Me, Not A Second Time
10. Help: Help!, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Ticket To Ride, It's Only Love
9. Please Please Me: Anna Go To Him, PS I Love You, A Taste Of Honey, There's A Place
8. Let It Be: Two Of Us, Across The Universe, I've Got A Feeling, The Long And Winding Road
7. A Hard Days Night: I Should Have Known Better, If I Fell, And I Love Her, I'll Be Back
6. Sgt Pepper's: Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Fixing A Hole, Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite, Lovely Rita
5. Beatles For Sale (sorry, not sorry) I'm A Loser, Words Of Love, Every Little Thing, What You're Doing
4. The White Album: Dear Prudence, I'm So Tired, I Will, Yer Blues, Mother Nature's Son, Sexy Sadie, Helter Skelter, Revolution 1
3. Revolver: I'm Only Sleeping, Here There And Everywhere, She Said She Said, Tomorrow Never Knows
2. Abbey Road: Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Oh Darling, I Want You, Because
1. Rubber Soul: Nowhere Man, Michelle, Girl, In My Life.
I'm always surprised how different people's musical tastes are. Maxwell is the worst Beatles song in my opinion, the only one I hate.
@olavirannisto3552 Yea, to me, I never got why it was so hated. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. One of my least favorites is Martha My Dear.
@@anironiccoolness Hate Let it Be
Yes!! Beatles For Sale deserves a high ranking. It is a fabulous album - and a REAL progression from what came before!!
Beatles for sale is incredibly underrated. No reply, I’m a loser and Eight days a week are classic Beatles tunes ! The harmony on Mr Moonlight rocks ….. I love Rubber Soul better than Revolver by a hair .
Abbey road is my favorite .
it's a 10 out of 10
Honestly you are 65? If you told me you were 45 I would have believed you
I'm 66. Thank you.
