I was experiencing the same black screen but it was working fine a day ago. I washed the car and moved some stuff around in the trunk. Think I knocked something loose. But thanks to your video I just fixed it. Just seeing your video of the structure and placement of the helped. Good looking out!

Hey same thing happened to me I washed my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and back up camera stopped working.
Love the video all the other’s dont have good lighting so I couldn’t really tell what’s going on but i’ll be replacing my camera soon very helpful 💯

I had the same problem with my 2012 300S after the second year. All I did was purchase a new camera for $169. Go through the same process but just replace the camera in the rear tail light instead of the whole unit. Took literally about 30 - 45 minutes to do.
So all you got was the camera took off the old camera and put it all back having same problem lol

Dude! That looks awesome, clear view all the way back.. Our Pacifica backup camera view is blurry as hell. I'm thinking it's the lens itself that's dirty/oxidized, but replacing the whole camera makes more sense. I wonder if Best Buy would have that special connector.. Thanks for this video, will give this a try. Great job!

2015 through 2021 have the same setup for what is commonly called high mount brake light. The cheapest I've found OEM new was $211

Actually what I snip was the old camera, I believe when you buy the new camera and harness you don't have to do that, I did that by accident because I thought that all I needed to replace was the camera itself but it comes all together with the light. The whole red piece that you saw me holding that s what it all comes with so you don't need to sniff anything just pretty much remove the old and put in a new one.

Do you know if Chrysler 300C has a front view camera? Not talking about front view camera that is on windshield. Someone backed into my front end and messed up right front bumper. It had to be something with a hitch because of the location of the damage. Bottom of bumper where light is.

My car did not have a factory installed camera, so I am installing an oem camera in my 2014 Chrysler 300. Do you remember which (color) of the wires from the connector went to the backup light and which went to the radio.
Actually it was just one connector going directly to the radio. Are you installing a aftermarket camera?

You would have to remove the connector first and see what color and type it is

I drive a 2013, I got the black screen sometimes but disappeared when I just shut off and turned the car back on. Now my camera is inverted and the guide lines disappeared, anyone know if its a wiring issue or actually requires a replacement

Sounds like it could be, It's probably slowly going out. If not it might just be something going on with the electrical wiring..
I have a 2017 300C and mine works sporadically too…….it either works fine, has the blue screen or the camera is distorted. This must be a common glitch so I wonder if there should have been a recall.
The reverse cameras in Chrysler's are the worst, Mine is doing the same thing. I got to open the trunk and slap the camera from the inside, to get it to work.
