Heading to Stavanger first and then traveling up the unbelievably beautiful West Coast. This video is only a montage, a taster of this incredible journey. Great video, good humour too. You are one of the few youtubers who points the camera in the right direction.
    The majority barely remove the camera from themselves. Even when they are in some of the world’s most beautiful scenery all I can see them. Even if they are beautiful it’s still tedious.
    Thanks.

      I couldn't agree more. I'm just 1 out of 8 billion people on this planet. The nature I cycle through is unique and beautiful and far more important to viewers. My channel is there to inspire others to go off and have their own unique experience on a bike.

      @@matthewnorway it certainly was inspiring. I got and cycled just under 50 miles today around the Exe estuary.
      I’m hoping to attempt to complete European divide trail in 2024. Some weather advice would be very helpful. As in what to wear for setting off from north Norway (kirkenes) possibly in April or may. I’m presuming it’s warmer then and the snow has gone.

    Hands down the most beautiful cycling country I've seen... except for the tunnels.

    Thank you for these videos & all the info on ferries & routes Matthew. My wife & I are heading over this summer,
    & you have made so many of our decisions 'invalid'. lol We will try to stay away from tunnels as much as possible.
    I'm appreciating your facebook page also for extra info. cheers.

      Unfortunately, a few tunnels will be part of the ride but you'll find many you can go around. Just ensure you have good lights and reflective clothing and all is good. Safe travels.

    Wow! Love it! - Planning something similar for this summer. Starting point Stavanger ending in Tromsö. But one of my biggest fears are those tunnels along the way. Scary stuff to bike through those. - But seeing that you made it might just mean that it is possible for me also.

    It looks like you've taken much of the trip I'd like to do, Oslo to Trondheim to Lofoten, then to Nordkapp before going to Oulu and ultimately to Helsinki. However, the big trip would start in Berlin (or other German city), north to Rostok, then Copenhagen, Malmo, Stockholm, diagonal to Gothenburg, then to Oslo. From Helsinki, to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and back to the beginning. OR ... make my way southwest to the south of Portugal for a vacation.

    Do you bring a bike lock? Ever scared of someone nibbing the bike when you're in the tent?

    • @matthewnorway
      @matthewnorway  3 роки тому

      I take a hiplock with me but only use it when buying food. I find campsites in Norway pretty safe. I have it by my tent at night and bring all valuables into my tent. If some came close to my tent I would wake up.
