My wife of 53 years was in a coma for 3 weeks and I sang this to her EVERY day. She passed 5 years ago but It still bring tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. Miss you sweetie
I don’t think the guy was disrespecting, I think they meant like “man up, you can get through this!” Or something it was a bad choice of words but I don’t think they were trying to be disrespectful
@henderson6904 man up?? You're about one big POS! This man lost the love of his life and put him self out here with raw emotion to express his sorrow and it was most likely for himself to reflect and not for assclowns to bash him. So disrespectful and your mom should've swallowed you or at least did a better job of raising you. To the gentleman that lost his wife, thank you for sharing and I'm so sorry for your loss and pain. I've been married for 28 years and cannot imagine the hell that you must have gone thru and most likely still go thru. I pray that you may find some peace and happiness knowing that you will be reunited and see your "sweetie" once again some day. I hope you sir, have a blessed day. ❤
Im a 76 year old male and as. I watched and listened to this wonderful old song, tears came to my eyes thinking back 51 years ago when my Sunshine was taken from me.It is no easer this very moment than it was thoses 51 years ago, i'll always hang my head dear and cry!I still love my sunshine!
I used to sing this to my little sister. She's 7 years younger than I am. The other night she came into my room crying and asked me to sing it to her. She's 9, and she misses her friends. It seems to have helped her, and i just keep listen to it over and over again. It makes me happy.
Every thing will pass and you will be ok again just hold on for this period I know this because I was suffring from OCD and depression but I got through all of this and now I get better and I could find happiness again so I can tell you that there is a light in the end of pass just be patient and fight to reach the light
This song is smashing me to bits.. Reading all the attached stories of sadness and grief has opened up my emotions ....I offer prayers for all in need, including myself,,....
@@susiezienko8219 Hello Susie, Thank you for your kind words.. You are a sweet lady.... We are all GOD's creation, and His Love shall reside within us for ever and ever,,....
This was one of my dear grandmother’s favourite songs, she would always sing along when my dad played it on his guitar. She passed away on Christmas Day. At the funeral, the entire church sang this song for her and it was so so beautiful.
Hello! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy, just wanna give a word of condolence bout your grandma, I do bet you gonna miss her. But it's alright. So, how are you doing?
I have an 18 month old granddaughter and since she was just days old I'll rock her while she drinks her nap or bedtime bottle and I sing along with this beautiful version and rock her to sleep. She's learned how to hum along to it as she's falling asleep. Old grandpa loves rocking this precious little baby!
My aunt sang this to me every day when I was through the ages of 0-4. She died when I was 4, I still cry and can't get over her. This song is the only thing that helps me.
I sang this every night to my dog when he was sick, he loved it. When he passed, I tried to sing it, but broke down. Still makes me cry, but I need it right now.
I did exactly the same thing! I knew he was dying of cancer and so spoiled him rotten for an entire year before having to let him go. I sang it around him (never to him, he was a proud alpha male who didn't do soppy- lol). Miss him terribly.
Reading all the stories about the sunshines people had in their life while listening to this song is making me cry because it's so...heartbreaking. Keep singing everybody, it's how we stay strong even in the face of the darkness without our sunshine.
Cherstal you cannot see light in light, you can only see light in darkness. I'm very sorry for all of our losses and hope the best your guy's lived. God bless us all
+Marineartist101 Sorry for your loss. my first love sang this to me also, but he didnt die he just left me.. :( he better die than left me for another one.. just saying lol
I used to sing this song to my daughter. Then, she died from cancer. When she was 2 weeks old. I am really sad. Because when I sang this song when she was crying she would stop.💜 I LOVE YOU, Ally.😓
This is the most beautiful rendition of this song I have ever heard, and a lot of us have heard this song starting from childhood. We lost our sunshine recently, I'll leave it at that. I'm glad I'm in my office alone. I'm sort of heap right now. Simple beauty is so rare. The way this song was performed...it just doesn't get any better.
This reminds me of my dad :( he died 4 years ago when I was 8 I cried for at least 28 hours straight.... The entire 5 months nothing could make me truly happier then just to hear his voice....I just want to hear his voice one more time.....
I woke up with this song in my mind. My mom used to sing it to me and I sang it to my daughter. Sometimes I wonder if songs like this will be forgotten. I hope not.
From the Future Generation: We will never forget this song, it will always have a place in our hearts and we will share it with our children, I promise you!
My mom use to sing this to me when I was a child and she sang it to my child and to her great grandchildren. I sing it too. I thinks it's not only beautiful but a nice way of carrying our dear loved ones with us and so precious to sing it to our children and our grandchildren. It's a glorious treasure!
+Malia Osorio I'm sure she would be very proud of you. I sang this to my little brother who I looked after as my own when our mother was sick. She had breast cancer also. xx
My old neighbor Mark died at 78 from heart attack when I was only 9 years old. He was very nice and funny, sometimes dumb, he always invented everything just to make me smile. He was very good at playing the guitar. This was the last song he played for me, a couple of hours before he left forever. Today I've been seeing that empty bench in the park for 5 years, where he played this song for the last time. Thanks for everything Mark.
Boy oh boy where do I even begin. Lebron… honey, my pookie bear. I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you. The way you drive into the paint and strike fear into your enemies eyes. Your silky smooth touch around the rim, and that gorgeous jumpshot. I would do anything for you. I wish it were possible to freeze time so I would never have to watch you retire. You had a rough childhood, but you never gave up hope. You are even amazing off the court, you're a great husband and father, sometimes I even call you dad. I forvever dread and weep, thinking of the day you will one day retire. I would sacrifice my own life it were the only thing that could put a smile on your beautiful face. You have given me so much joy, and heartbreak over the years. I remember when you first left clevenland and its like my heart got broken into a million pieces. But a tear still fell from my right eye when I watched you win your first ring in miami, because deep down, my glorious king deserved it. I just wanted you to return home. Then allas, you did, my sweet baby boy came home and I rejoiced. 2015 was a hard year for us baby, but in 2016 you made history happen. You came back from 3-1 and I couldn't believe it. I was crying, bawling even, and I heard my glorious king exclaim these words, "CLEVELAND, THIS IS FOR YOU!" Not only have you changed the game of basketball and the world forever, but you've eternally changed my world. And now you're getting older, but still the goat, my goat. I love you pookie bear, my glorious king, Lebron James. 🥰❤🫶🏽

If someone special used to sing this song for you. Then that someone has passed away. You may always comeback here just to hear this song especially when you miss those special ones.
As my mother aged, we liked to sings different songs together. She eventually had to go to assisted living. I would call her on her cell phone and sing this song you are my sunshine. She loved it when i sang to her. My mother recently passed away from covid. I still sing this song to myself and feel as though she is singing along with me from heaven.
This is my 2 year old daughter's favorite song, and she asks for me to either sing it or play it every night before bed! 😍 This song brought a lot of comfort to me when I was little. My grandma sang it to me durring her occasional visits. My mom and I never had a very close relationship, so it's special to me in part of my daughter's and my relationship.
We all go through times of trouble. King David with all the tribes of Jacob experienced many troubles, stopped and acknowledged God for his guidance. Psalm121:1 I look up...
This was my moms favorite song, every time I hear it I can't stop myself from crying, and my heart aches so bad...... My entire childhood I was never away from my mom..... I was laying right next to her when she passed away in her sleep from lung cancer...... She used to sing this song every day, but now it is a well sharpened knife that plunges into my family's hearts whenever the song is played
Im sorry dude. My Grandma died from cancer and we always used to sing it too. That's why you should always hold your loved ones close to your heart, and death and tragedy away.
I feel so bad for you sorry for your loss me reading that made me tear up I would be the exact same as you if that happened to somebody special to me 😭😭😭
Thank you so much for posting this. This song is my grandfather's legacy. He loved life so much; loved food, good company and made everything seem alright. He wasn't scary, he made even me feel at ease, even wanted. He sang this song to my mother and she sang it to me. He recently took the journey. I miss him so much. But the point of this is that I sang this song to him on his deathbed to say goodbye and when I came out my mom went in. When she came out she said he was smiling when she saw him.
My grandpa used to sing this to me before he passed. He had a cancer relapse that attacked his entire body and we didn't know until it was too late. The last thing he said to me was "you did good". I miss him so damn much. He was the best man you'd ever had met. He'd have never hurt a fly.
My mom used to sing this to me before I went to bed, I’m 20 and she’s been dead almost 7 years now...I sing this to myself when I want to remember her.
I feel so incredibly wonderful to have my sunshine in my life. He's sick right now with a slight cold so I have him laying on my chest asleep. I love playing this for him when he's sick and, even though I may not like my singing voice, I'll sing it to him if he asks. He's been my rock since we met and he's been there for me through everything. I love you Azzie and I can't wait to call you my husband.
CosmicPixel I'm crying because I never got to tell my sunshine how much I loved him. How much I wanted to visit him. I never got to sing this to him because I was too weak.
My favorite all time lullaby! Wow at the memories these lyrics bring back! 💛 I sang this to all four of my babies ☀️🌻 And in 2 months, my first grandbaby will be here and I can't wait to continue the tradition with her!
My grandmother use to sing this to me and my sister all the time when we were little. And now that I'm 18 this is still one of my favorite, memorable childhood songs.
For some reason this reminds me of my childhood, when my parents were together, when I was happy and my family would laugh and sing together. And when I had my best friend, that I haven't seen in almost 5 years. All the things that made me smile always vanish from me. Oh how I wish I could go back.
Your comment broke my heart. I don't know you, but I wish I could give you a massive hug right now! And don't worry, you'll have new things that will make you smile :)
tu es mon soleil, mon seul soleil, tu me fais plaisir lorsque le ciel est gris. Vous ne saurez jamais combien chère je t'aime, s'il vous plaît ne prenez pas mon rayon de soleil loin.❤️
I sang this song to my cat last night as she was dying in my arms. It was our song, I sang it to her the six years I had her. It hasn't been 24 hours yet. I still expect her to be on my bed when I wake up, purring and asking to be pet. I miss her so, so much.
My mom and my grandma used to sing this to me when I was little. Sadly my mom passed away last year in August. I miss you mom and as this song goes, you're my sunshine my only sunshine. I'm having my first baby in April of this year and I'm gonna sing this to him like you sang it to me. We miss you bunches and he will always know of his grandma.
Whenever I was sad as a kid, my Aunty sang this to me and I cuddled her. I sang along with her all the way through. My nickname as a kid was Baby Sunshine...hearing this again made me cry so much.

James. - love you S2 pookie bear, my glorious king, Lebron
The first woman I ever truly loved always sang this to me and I remember exactly where and when, but now when I listen to it I think I actually understand the meaning behind the lyrics and I'll never forget her ever and I'll always be happy for her whatever comes across her path.
Reading some of these posts, I am grateful this song has meant so much to people and it's been a source of comfort too. I sang this song to my second child, who has autism. She is my sunshine.
I always sang this to my Sammycat when I drove him to the vet to calm him. After 20 years of his golden friendship, he went on ahead and I now have his ashes on a shelf with this wall quote next to him. My sunshine sammycat
Hi I had a cat named Muffin too she lived to18 and I also sang this song to her my dad used to sing it to me when I was a little kid And my cat muffin saved my life once I am a diabetic and fell asleep and was having low blood sugar if muffin had not started to lick my face and hands to wake me up I probably would have not woke up at all she was such a good cat and I miss her so much. I hope that your heart will mend now your Muffin and my Muffin are sitting on Gods lap
+Jennie French i sang this to my baby Gary the first of my 4 kittys, he's always be there for me, when nobody was, he's my baby boy my son, of course I love my others cats but Gary is so special to me He and I alone against the world figthing with the pain, he made me smile back then in dark really dark days, he's 2 this song is for him, maybe the reason I still alive I love u baby Gary thank you for be in my life
I love this sweet version. When my first granddaughter was born she was the joy of my heart. Her sweet smile and sparkling eyes always made me think of a "sunshiny day" so that's why I sang this song to her when she was little. She will be 20 tomorrow but her smile still brightens my day.
My granny sung this to my mom as I was being born singing this up until 10 when she passed in her sleep I wish I could've sung it to her as she drifted to bed that night ❤granny❤
This is the last song I ever sang to my best friend. I held her close and sang my heart out through the tears. Her little heart stopped a minute later. Rest in peace, Charlie, you really were my sunshine. 2004-2020
My mama sang this to me from birth to the day she went to heaven. I miss her so much. My children are not with me either right now and this song...I have dreams of them playing, and me holding them. I see them once a week but I'm thankful for every time. My mom's with me in my heart and spirit. I love them so so much! 🥰😭
When I was 1 or 2 my parents got divorced so I didn't see my mom much and I remember her singing this to me when I was 4 I always thought it was MY song it was the one of the thing that kept me and my mom close together and every time I hear it I cry cause my mom left me drinking... Even tho how much I love her I never hate her for what she has did I know that she loves me deep down inside and just hearing this song makes my heart crumble in a million pieces... I will always love my mom even for the stupidest things she's does that takes me away from her I will always love her even tho when I don't know where she is right now... She probably forgot that exist anymore but that's ok... I love you mom
My grandma sung this to me every night when i was little. She would say my name(shaylyn) instead of sunshine, She was one of the biggest parts of my life. Right now im laying next to her the hospice nurse said she 36 hours 36 hours ago. She still fighting. I have this song on repeat as we both laying here and cry. I will miss her with every part of my being and i love her more💕 X heartbroken
My ex wife and I would sing this to our kids every night. She sang the melody and I sang the harmony. Now I use this UA-cam clip to enable my boys to hear that same sound just before sleep. God bless.

This reminds me of my mom and dad I think about the good times and how it'll be a really long time till I see their faces again and I miss them so much and when I sing this I think about my mom for the first part and my dad for the second part and then them both for the last part. 😭 I miss them so much 😢 but I know they both are together and in a better place right now and that's what gets me going. R.I.P Mom and Dad I love you and my heart 💔 for you but still 💛💙 for you too. (Orange was my mom's favorite color and blue was my dad's favorite color)
I have played this same song for the past four years for my daughter because it helps her fall asleep. Thank goodness for this song. It's a life saver.
This is nothing shy of beautiful. The best version ever. We used to sing this to my son when he was younger. We found this through Pandora. I have to buy it.
My gammy and my mom taught me this song and when ever we were at my gammy's house, I sang this song. Then I forgot the words for awhile and when she died the lyrics came back to me and I remember all the good times I had with my gammy.
This song reminds me of my dog Charlie... we had to give him to someone else since we couldn't take care of him. I wasn't even there to say goodbye to him when his new owner came to pick him up. My grandma said we'd go visit him, but it's been over a year and I don't think I'll ever see him again...
I had two dogs named Jack and Flower. This same situation happened to me and I still think about them every day. It hurts because they were the first pets I ever had and I had adopted Flower when my parents were still together. I miss those dogs greatly and I hope that they found a new home and are living/lived a happy life.
This is My Heart Dog's song we shared...She had to go about 10 years ago....so this is a very meaningful, heartfelt song for me...the significance of this cannot be put into words. If anyone doesn't know what a Heart Dog is, it's the one that out of ALL the ones I've loved so much that she is is simply everything as close to perfection there is to me! Thanks again!
this song make me cry because when I was 9 my mom died my mom would sing this song every night and hold me in her arms but every year when it her birthday I'll start singing then brake down and cry and it hurts so much that I can't be in your arms mom i hope your happy in heaven...
Starting today, I'll sing this to my boyfriend and my future children. So that whenever they hear this song, they will always remember that they are my sunshines ❤️
I awoke one morning when my earth angel come bouncing into my bed, we laid there talking about our day plans and I decided to play her a song, thanks to you tube... this is my all time happy song as I know I will spend the rest of my life being happy, Thank you Maysen Marie Badger
I am 70 and when I was a little boy I heard this song many times and we sang it in school we had a music class once per week in school. This was one of the very first songs I learned when i started playing my harmonica at age 13. still to this day i love this song.
Yes especially because I read this story about my favorite couple and this guy died in the hospital and the other person sang this to him while he was about to pass away
ok so I don't know why this made me cry, but I had this dream when I was little that I never told my mum or dad about but it was of my dads mum, whom I never met, and my mums granny, who I never met either, I just know that I get my eyes from her, and they were both singing this song to me and at the end there was a door showing my bedroom and I walked towards it but when I turned around and they were both gone but I still heard the song, and it just faded out as I walked through the door, and just barely and really quietly I heard two female voices say "we love you" and then i woke up
I maybe 27 years old but my mom stills considers me her sunshine. And I have no problem with that at all. And that's all I'm saying. I hope no one considers me a child.
My mom sang this to me when I was l was a toddler and I still have wonderful memories of the one time she was singing it to me. She died 8 years ago and this reminds me of her. I also sang it to my children when they were little.
I like your interpretation. I think it might be the other way around, though. The song was sung originally by Jimmy Davis and Charles Mitchell in 1939, so I think it's intended to be sung from the man's perspective. Using your war metaphor, the man is in the thick of the fighting, perhaps in a trench on the Western Front in WWI. He does is best to sleep while the battle rages around him, and when he passes into sleep, he dreams of his far away love, only to awaken with the realization that it was a dream and his beloved is far away, though always near to his heart.
I feel your warmth. when my dad past away I was the only one who wanted to take a piece of him. where I live in found jack knife springs it's a fresh water spring that I call the pond of life it never freezes. when I spread my dad's ashes two whiskey jack birds showed up. it's like they knew. my dad liked his whiskey. but these birds were so playful with us it made the moment special. I miss my dad and glad I found a place for him.
Tears filled my eyes as I listened to this because this reminds me of my cat, Kiki (socks) he ran away and we found him dead on the ground a few hours later.. 😭 R.I.P. 😿😿😇😇
I know how hard it is to loose a pet, I hope your doing better :) I used to have quite an old cat named Domino, she was my best friend and would follow me around the house, she had a bed she would sleep in every night, now that she's gone I still keep her bed on one of my pillows, I know it sounds dumb but I have a stuffed animal that looks alot like her that I keep on the bed, it just makes me happy to think that she would've loved to be there instead. :)
my mom sang this song to me and now I'm in foster care system and it sucks because I can't see them any more😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😩😩😩😩😩😰😰😰😰
I'm trying so hard not to cry...DARN IT NOW I'M CRYING My grandma used to sing this to me but she died a couple weeks ago... I'M TRYING TOO MUCH I'M GONNA FLOOD THE HOUSE
I'm so sorry, Nether Flame. My mom died nearly 6 years ago and I'm here watching this because my brother texted me saying, "I miss mom," then sent me the link to watch this saying it reminds him of her. Now I miss her and am getting very emotional. :(
pcross84 I know your pain my mom passed away on July 2,2012 I miss her so much and my dad passed away on August 1,2014 so now I'm in even more pain so spend as much time with your dad while you still got him cause one day you might regret not spending time with him. But in other words I know your pain only a 100x worse.
My sunshine is gone. She had a disease that made her a prisoner to her bed. Then she went to hospital and died of heart attack and liver disease. I cry every time I hear this. Rip nain (welsh for grandmother... I'm welsh)
This was the song my grandma sang to my siblings and my 2 cousins when we were all new born babies and we all sang this song at her Funeral as a tribute! Everytime I listen to this I think about my grandma Tina every time! She past away when I was 17 on Feb 12 2014 9 yrs ago! I miss her more and more each day!
My wife of 53 years was in a coma for 3 weeks and I sang this to her EVERY day. She passed 5 years ago but It still bring tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. Miss you sweetie
I'm sorry bout that bro. Man up
@Henderson Why the disrespect?
I don’t think the guy was disrespecting, I think they meant like “man up, you can get through this!” Or something it was a bad choice of words but I don’t think they were trying to be disrespectful
Your post touched my heart...
I watched and listened to this wonderful old song, tears came to my eyes thinking back 51 years ago when my Sunshine was taken from me.It is no easer this very moment than it was thoses 51 years ago, i'll always hang my head dear and cry!I still love my sunshine!

hi larry. :)
I used to sing this to my little sister. She's 7 years younger than I am. The other night she came into my room crying and asked me to sing it to her. She's 9, and she misses her friends. It seems to have helped her, and i just keep listen to it over and over again. It makes me happy.
Did she die?🤔
Bless you for your kindness.
God is the ultimate healer.
God bless u
This bring back so many happy memories God bless this song

My mom used to sing this to me. She died when I was 9 so I listen to this so I can feel better. It just makes me miss her more.
I used to sing this to my Grate Grandma before she died when I was 4. I was more connected to her than anyone else.

This was one of my dear grandmother’s favourite songs, she would always sing along when my dad played it on his guitar. She passed away on Christmas Day. At the funeral, the entire church sang this song for her and it was so so beautiful.
Yes I really love this song
Old grandpa loves rocking this precious little baby!
thats
ADORABLE
your awesome
❤
My aunt sang this to me every day when I was through the ages of 0-4. She died when I was 4, I still cry and can't get over her. This song is the only thing that helps me.
I sang this every night to my dog when he was sick, he loved it. When he passed, I tried to sing it, but broke down. Still makes me cry, but I need it right now.
aww...I know exactly what you mean
dogs are family... they love you more than they love themselves...
+pooanddoo that's is also my situation. My little dog died some time ago and this was his song and now i'm can't stop crying when i listen this song
:-(
I did exactly the same thing!
God bless us all
Chersta
My friend his name is Austin and he passed away and I always wanted him back and I always sang this song to him because I miss him and I want him back
Cherstal vbyngukhuuj
my boyfriend sang this to me when he was in the hospital, I don't think I've ever cried more than I did, especially now that he's passed away
I'm sorry. You are loved. Please know this.
So sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss

I used to sing this song to my daughter. Then, she died from cancer. When she was 2 weeks old. I am really sad. Because when I sang this song when she was crying she would stop.💜 I LOVE YOU, Ally.😓
So sorry for your loss
Hi im so sorry for loss❤❤
oh my dear,sorry
I’m sorry for your lose 🙁
Aww so sad im so sad for you just remember your memorise whapen your dauter died:D
My dad died last year and this song reminds me of him too ❤️
I hope you feel better :)
I woke up with this song in my mind. My mom used to sing it to me and I sang it to my daughter. Sometimes I wonder if songs like this will be forgotten. I hope not.
I haven’t forgotten.
It's a glorious treasure!
my mom sang this song to me when I was little and now she died two years ago of breast cancer and now I'm crying
So sorry:(
+Malia Osorio I'm sure she would be very proud of you. I sang this to my little brother who I looked after as my own when our mother was sick. She had breast cancer also. xx
+Malia Osorio ..Its a beautiful song and beautifully sung..remember your mum as also being a beautiful person.....
+Malia Osorio That made me tear up... I'm so sorry for your loss, lovely. x
I am for ur mom
I sing this to my 6 day old daughter and it means so much. My emotions always run high and I shed a little tear. Daddy loves you so much Melody
I was crying, bawling even, and I heard my glorious king exclaim these words,
"CLEVELAND, THIS IS FOR YOU!" Not only have you changed the game of basketball and the world forever, but you've eternally changed my world.

This song has been a blessing over the years, being someone's sunshine is the ultimate joy you can experience.
What a beautiful version of this long cherished song,by Elizabeth Mitchell...I loved it..
My grandmas got lung cancer... This breaks my heart 💕😪
My Granny used to sing this to me a lot and now that she passed away every time I hear this it makes me think of her and I try not to break down
wanna hug?
gingerbread 178 Yes please I was about to cry today. Btw I like your profile pic
Thank you!
*Hugs*
gingerbread 178 Your welcome. *Hugs back*
...
I'm crying, my mom used to sing this song to me when I was little. It brings back all the good memories...
CosmicPixel
I'm crying because I never got to tell my sunshine how much I loved him. How much I wanted to visit him.
I never got to sing this to him because I was too weak.

i sing this to my cat. she's my best friend, she always knows when I'm upset and does whatever she can to make me happy. i love her so much.
I used to sing this to my Grate Grandma before she died when I was 4. I was more connected to her than anyone else.
I love this song
For some reason this reminds me of my childhood, when my parents were together, when I was happy and my family would laugh and sing together. And when I had my best friend, that I haven't seen in almost 5 years. All the things that made me smile always vanish from me. Oh how I wish I could go back.
im so srry jenna
Your comment broke my heart. I don't know you, but I wish I could give you a massive hug right now! And don't worry, you'll have new things that will make you smile :)
tu es mon soleil, mon seul soleil, tu me fais plaisir lorsque le ciel est gris. Vous ne saurez jamais combien chère je t'aime, s'il vous plaît ne prenez pas mon rayon de soleil loin.❤️
Oh my goodness, big hugs to you! Xx
i know the feeling
I sang this song to my cat last night as she was dying in my arms. It was our song, I sang it to her the six years I had her. It hasn't been 24 hours yet. I still expect her to be on my bed when I wake up, purring and asking to be pet. I miss her so, so much.
This comment made me tear up... That is so sad. There's nothing like having a cat that you're close to.
I have a cat , I'm sad now
Katie Dover My cat of 17 years passed...It's been a year, I still cry when I think of him...I miss him sooooo much...
:(
My mom and my grandma used to sing this to me when I was little.

I hate loosing cats mine named muffin died and when I found his body I sung the song for him 😢
I had 5 cats....I don't have 5 cats anymore...
WHY YOU MAKE ME CRY!?
I remember my grandmother singing this to me when my parents were away. this song gets me through everything, its helps me with my savan syndrome
😀
Lovely old song, an all time favourite and played at lots of family events, thank you for the share 😃😉
A lot of people say this song is sad but I also feel like it’s happy as well… it’s a beautiful song
Musically: one of the most soothing songs ever written.
Lyrically: one of the most heart-breaking, profoundly sad songs ever written.
This is just plain beautiful! Too bad, stuff like this doesn't get played on the radio.
I will miss her with every part of my being and i love her more💕
X heartbroken
My ex wife and I would sing this to our kids every night. She sang the melody and I sang the harmony. Now I use this UA-cam clip to enable my boys to hear that same sound just before sleep. God bless.
Be kind to one another. Loving them as I have loved you
JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF

This reminds me of my mom and dad I think about the good times and how it'll be a really long time till I see their faces again and I miss them so much and when I sing this I think about my mom for the first part and my dad for the second part and then them both for the last part. 😭 I miss them so much 😢 but I know they both are together and in a better place right now and that's what gets me going. R.I.P Mom and Dad I love you and my heart 💔 for you but still 💛💙 for you too.
(Orange was my mom's favorite color and blue was my dad's favorite color)

Your right
God bless you and your parents
Aldana Pineda thanks
I have played this same song for the past four years for my daughter because it helps her fall asleep. Thank goodness for this song. It's a life saver.
This is nothing shy of beautiful. The best version ever. We used to sing this to my son when he was younger. We found this through Pandora. I have to buy it.
My gammy and my mom taught me this song and when ever we were at my gammy's house, I sang this song. Then I forgot the words for awhile and when she died the lyrics came back to me and I remember all the good times I had with my gammy.
This is one of the songs we plan on playing at my son's memorial service in May. I've always loved it.
+moonlitenmagic
I'm sure, wherever he is... he'll hear it. :)
The Dragon Lord Thank you Dragon
My pleasure. :)
:-)
This song reminds me of my dog Charlie... we had to give him to someone else since we couldn't take care of him. I wasn't even there to say goodbye to him when his new owner came to pick him up. My grandma said we'd go visit him, but it's been over a year and I don't think I'll ever see him again...
Artsy Dragon I had a dog called Charlie and we gave him away... At least we know he’s an safe dog 🐕.🐶🐕😭
I had two dogs named Jack and Flower. This same situation happened to me and I still think about them every day. It hurts because they were the first pets I ever had and I had adopted Flower when my parents were still together. I miss those dogs greatly and I hope that they found a new home and are living/lived a happy life.
This version is the best version 💙
listening to all these stories made me cry and realize how blessed i am. thank you :) im praying for all of you and your families
My dad song this song to me every night, now I don't usally hear his voice that much anymore.Thank you for letting me hear this again.

This is the best version of this song. It's also pretty sad.
my dad and i used to listen to this song every night , this same youtube video. i miss it
This is My Heart Dog's song we shared...She had to go about 10 years ago....so this is a very meaningful, heartfelt song for me...the significance of this cannot be put into words. If anyone doesn't know what a Heart Dog is, it's the one that out of ALL the ones I've loved so much that she is is simply everything as close to perfection there is to me! Thanks again!
this song make me cry because when I was 9 my mom died my mom would sing this song every night and hold me in her arms but every year when it her birthday I'll start singing then brake down and cry and it hurts so much that I can't be in your arms mom i hope your happy in heaven...

yup 😭🔫 my sister taken away from me i love her more than my own parents and i mess her so much...
ok so I don't know why this made me cry, but I had this dream when I was little that I never told my mum or dad about but it was of my dads mum, whom I never met, and my mums granny, who I never met either, I just know that I get my eyes from her, and they were both singing this song to me and at the end there was a door showing my bedroom and I walked towards it but when I turned around and they were both gone but I still heard the song, and it just faded out as I walked through the door, and just barely and really quietly I heard two female voices say "we love you" and then i woke up
I maybe 27 years old but my mom stills considers me her sunshine. And I have no problem with that at all. And that's all I'm saying. I hope no one considers me a child.
My Grate Grandma was my Sunshine before she died when I was 4.
I consider you lucky.

My mom sang this to me when I was l was a toddler and I still have wonderful memories of the one time she was singing it to me. She died 8 years ago and this reminds me of her. I also sang it to my children when they were little.
I would sing this to my husband as he was dying from a brain tumor. He would just smile at me
i used to be my mommy's sunshine...now she has better things to do.
This song makes me cry i dont know why :'(
I like your interpretation. He does is best to sleep while the battle rages around him, and when he passes into sleep, he dreams of his far away love, only to awaken with the realization that it was a dream and his beloved is far away, though always near to his heart.
but it's called you are my sunshine so you don't need to cry Jenifer Mercado it's ok
This Song makes me cry bicouse i'm in love
I feel your warmth. when my dad past away I was the only one who wanted to take a piece of him. where I live in found jack knife springs it's a fresh water spring that I call the pond of life it never freezes. when I spread my dad's ashes two whiskey jack birds showed up. it's like they knew. my dad liked his whiskey. but these birds were so playful with us it made the moment special. I miss my dad and glad I found a place for him.
Father in Heaven,This song is for my oldest daughter, who I love,& miss!! She don't know,I love her so much!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Tears filled my eyes as I listened to this because this reminds me of my cat, Kiki (socks) he ran away and we found him dead on the ground a few hours later.. 😭 R.I.P. 😿😿😇😇

I know how hard it is to loose a pet, I hope your doing better :)
I used to have quite an old cat named Domino, she was my best friend and would follow me around the house, she had a bed she would sleep in every night, now that she's gone I still keep her bed on one of my pillows, I know it sounds dumb but I have a stuffed animal that looks alot like her that I keep on the bed, it just makes me happy to think that she would've loved to be there instead. :)
At the end of the song my computer ran out of batteries, as if he couldn't stand the feels XD

I'm so sorry, Nether Flame. My mom died nearly 6 years ago and I'm here watching this because my brother texted me saying, "I miss mom," then sent me the link to watch this saying it reminds him of her. Now I miss her and am getting very emotional. :(
Michelle Mac It happens...you need to mourn sometimes.
Nether Flame Definitely. I'm just sorry for the grief you're feeling. My mom's death hit me really, really hard.
My Mom is in the process of passing on. She sang this to me too. God, why does Life have to hurt so bad?
pcross84 I know your pain my mom passed away on July 2,2012 I miss her so much and my dad passed away on August 1,2014 so now I'm in even more pain so spend as much time with your dad while you still got him cause one day you might regret not spending time with him. But in other words I know your pain only a 100x worse.
My sunshine is gone. She had a disease that made her a prisoner to her bed. Then she went to hospital and died of heart attack and liver disease. I cry every time I hear this. Rip nain (welsh for grandmother... I'm welsh)
Imagine your OTP: Person A singing this to Person B while Person B is dying in Person A's arms. Or Person B singing this to Person A to comfort them
I used to sing this to my Grate Grandma before she died when I was 4.
Solangelo. I'm pretty sure that you like PJO due to your channel pic. Just imagine this as Solangelo. Mine used to be "Don't Tuch My Phone, Mortal"
I can't tell if you are a monster, a genius, or both, but I'm writing this ASAP

This was the song my grandma sang to my siblings and my 2 cousins when we were all new born babies and we all sang this song at her Funeral as a tribute! Everytime I listen to this I think about my grandma Tina every time! She past away when I was 17 on Feb 12 2014 9 yrs ago! I miss her more and more each day!
Love this version!
