- The Ramsgate Murder Mystery
News of the Times Episode 313 | 1893
It is 1893 Ramsgate and Mr Noel, butcher, Wesleyan treasurer and Sunday school teacher, has come home from the Sunday school class he has just taught only to find himself locked out of his house.
His wife, who should be home, does not answer.
Mr Noel goes to the side window, looks in, only to see his wife dead in a pool of blood. The family dog which is devoted to her is standing guard by her body.
The apparent house robbery has been staged and there was strangely no noise heard from the dog who had a reputation of viciousness and loud barking with any stranger.
The Ramsgate murder mystery gripped the headlines as local police investigated the crime. We take a look at the background, the crime, the whispers and rumours and the outcome of the Ramsgate murder mystery in today’s episode of Murderous Mondays.
Hosted by Robin Coles.

Really glad you enjoyed it! It does, vaguely, tie in with next week's murderous monday crime episode *queue ominous music*🤔
Good evening/morning All, Thanks Robin and Team. From NJ on a Sunday night

Very good. Thank you very much!!
Glad you liked! Hope you had a BRILLIANT day!🍾
@@newsofthetimes I did, thank you! Delicious meal, good wine, music, and company... it was most enjoyable.
Wow!! This is quite the mystery!! I still can't get my head around why Nip the dog didn't raise the alarm?! Even if he DID know the murderer, surely he would have savaged the perpetrator, whomever they were as they attacked his beloved mistress!! VERY odd indeed!!
What a shame the murder remains a cold case!!
I'm not surprised that Mr Noel moved away afterwards!! There would always have been a cloud of suspicion hanging over his head, in spite of the trial verdict!!
EXCELLENT video, as always, Robin!! 🤗💞👍👏❤💕
Thank you - really glad you liked it! It does tie in with next week's Monday episode. It could be, you never know, that the News of the Times Team have cracked a notorious unsolved mystery! 🤔Next Monday's epeisode, and the many detective sleuth's on this channel, will have to assess for themselves! 🔍 The mystery is all about the timeline...we reckon he did it. There is nearly almost always a problem somewhere with the whole "random person came in and killed fill-in-the-blank" It just doesn't happen. We think Nip the Dog - who apparently was fairly vicious - he had bitten the help - someone he knew - tells all. 🐶We think it was the husband, he had the tight timelines for sure - but the whole thing seems way too staged. If we saw the body of a loved one from the window, we would be racing to their side, not going to the neighbours to watch us go inside. Noooo. We understand why the case was thrown out of court wth the lack of eveidence but we certainly understand why the police went for him and - found the possible motive with his many secret trysts!💔
@@newsofthetimes I think he did it too!! I think he police's biggest mistake was not producing ACTUAL CONCRETE EVIDENCE that he committed the murder!! Yes, they brought in plenty of proof that he was an adulterer, but nothing to show that he ACTUALLY MURDERED!!
I'll bet Noel got up to his old tricks when he moved to London!! A leopard never changes his spots, after all!!🤔🐆
This was a very intriguing murder case in every conceivable aspect. It seems as though the intent was the murder of Mrs. Noel and the robbery was simply a diversion. I can't comprehend Nip the dog that was so close to Mrs. Noel not barking when this apparent robbery occurred and also attacking the robber especially since Nip was a particularly large dog. I wish they had brought in the police officials from Scotland Yard l believe this case would have been solved, period! Great investigation, presentation, backstory, illustrations, photos and videos, too. Take care 🦋
We think Scotland yard for sure would have cracked it! 🕵️But, we think Nip the dog gave it away. We really think it was the husband. Nip had also bitten one of the help - someone he knew. Tight time lines for sure, but we think it was doable. But how to prove it? 🤔We understand why the police, with no real evidence, built up the case of Mr Noel not beng everything he appeared to be with his secret life with women, but we also understand why the case was thrown out of court - certainly not enough to convict and especially looking at a death sentence! We know you are loyally here for every episode - take note of this crime and see if you think it is a twin to next monday's epeisode. 🔍 We think they are uncannily similar (which is why we did these in this order). It raises the question - did the murderer of next week's episode learn from the Murder of Mrs Noel? Hmmmm🤔
Well done. The dark chocolate lady needs a milk chocolate raise!!
Good morning! She is raising her morning cup of cocoa to you now! ☕"Dark chocolate is a superfood you know" (we hear this ALL the time)🙄 Thank you - really glad you liked! 🙏Keep an eye out for next week's Monday episode which has eerie similarities to this crime! Did the murderer of next week's crime learn from this crime to create the perfect murder? The crimes truly match up in a history-repeating-itself kind of way....*mysterious*🤔
Sidenote: I don't know if these people would have been called Wesleyans in the U.S. or not. The common term here is Methodist. I don't know which term was used here in the 1890's.
Sorry - neither do we! We do know that "Wesleyans" was a big thing in Victorian times - not sure what that translation would be in America.... Sorry🤔
@@newsofthetimes It's OK. I really think it might refer to Methodists because of their founder John Wesley. But I don't actually know. Maybe somebody will enlighten us.
@@elizabethsohler6516 Ah! That makes sense! I bet you are right! Ummm, we Brits can be quite literal...😏
Hmm, I think Mr Noel got away with murder.
We think so too! Tight timelines for sure, but doable. If Scotland Yard had been brought in, he would have been caught!🕵️
