There's only Stalker shadow of Chernobyl,Clear sky and call of Pripyat. This game has hostile mutants,humans and environment that encourages you to be careful. Highly recommend playing it

It's local postapocalypse. There is the zone (that allegedly slowly expands) around the old Chornobyl Power Plant, won't give you spoilers how it appeared, but the rest of the world is fine and exploiting the zone for the artifacts and some experiments.

@@CoinShy if you're into reading, initially there was a book Roadside Picnic by Strugatsky brothers, the developers took the setting ideas of the Zone out of it and applied to the location of real tragedy that happened some years after the book was written. There was also a soviet movie - Stalker. Again, slightly different idea but close vibe.
