- Favorite road-trip ever: the drive my wife and I took from San Franciscio to Seattle up along the Oregon coast. The music for this is a song I wrote called Northwest Passage and it's available in iTunes here: itunes.apple.com/album/points...

Born and raised in San Francisco and have taken that trip more than once. Beautiful drive, beautiful scenery. Seattle is my second favorite city, so the video had a nice ending. Thanks.
Great video, I'm from the UK and I did a road trip last August from San Francisco to Seattle, went there for the Eclipse, I had a dash cam for the whole trip, went via the Redwoods, Oregon Caves, Crater Lake, Dunes, Olympic NP and Mount Rainier NP, must do something similar and upload. Such a fantastic part of the world. I took a couple of weeks to do the trip and went up highway 1 to start then the 101.
whenever i feel low i watch this video due to it's music and scenery although i have never been to america
Thanks so much for the compliment. The track is something I created years back. Glad you enjoyed it. You made my day!
This is a dream trip my husband and I want to take!!! We have lived in Florida for most of our lives..This trip looks just beautiful!!! I will not want to fly back to Florida!!!
Amazing. I absolutely love the west coast and especially oregon. Everything I love about it is captured so well in this video. Awesome!
This video was truly worth watching. I love how the frame rate is synced up with the song!
Last September I drove from Seattle to San Francisco with a friend. 1:07 is a beautiful spot, we stayed over in Crescent City, Oregan has amazing forests and coastlines. Parts of the drive reminded me of Yorkshire county here in the UK.
+Jonathan w Yorkshire. put wood in tile.
That video is so beautiful, just made my day.
very nice! i like time lapse videos, usually it's just the same angle the whole time, but this one's unique, i liked it, thanks!
Absolutely beautiful!!
My boyfriend and I was planning on a roadtrip. SF to Seattle it is!!
Thanks for sharing.
I live in SF. I've always wanted to visit both Portland and Seattle. Both seem like awesome cities.
Thanks so much for the encouragement, M4xima. Best regards!
thank you that was beautiful
Awesome video, thanks!
Thanks for upload 👍🇺🇸❤️
these trips are very moody and cathartic
@eskimo9224 Glad you like it. It's a song I wrote called "Northwest Passage."
Hi, Kat. We took the 101 out of San Fran and cut over to the coast when we hit Oregon. So, I can't speak from experience about taking the 1. That said, I think taking the 1 sounds awesome. Especially for a honeymoon. If it adds a few hours, all the better. You'll probably get to see some wonderful things that way. Best wishes to you both! And enjoy your adventure together.
@12Smyle12 Thanks so much for your comment. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi dico123rye. We took the 101 up from San Francisco, spent the first night in Healdsburg, and then continued on 101 up the coast a bit (the ocean starts around Eureka). We cut over to Eugene at some point to save time. Someday, when I can really take my time, I'd like to drive the 101 up to the Olympics. You're in for a great trip! Best regards.
We spread out the trip over three days so we could enjoy it. First night, we stayed in Healdsburg, CA (a real cute, but touristy, town). Then we stayed in Eugene, OR the second night. Driving up 101 adds a lot of time, but I think it's totally worth it.
You stopped at Healdsburg??? No wonder the trip was so long. You got tired of driving after one or two hours
Great video
@NightZye Thanks for the encouragement! I don't have anything on itunes yet. It's the old "The cobbler's children have no shoes" situation. Much appreciated.
Thanks, Paul. We didn't take 101 the entire time. It would've added a few days. The coast is beautiful but slow going since it's just two lanes most of the way. We cut over to Eugene and then went up through Portland. You'll have a great time! Best regards.
Beautiful my plan for next year, when is the best time to go?
so nice bro ilove it how many hours to take frm san fransisco to seatle and how much do you spend for gas ? im planing next month to go to seatle by car....and im using my jeep to go there ....any one knws how much do i need to spend for gas to go and to go back any body knw ?
I would mentally prepare yourself that the trip may take longer than you plan. 101 along the coast can be slow going and there are lots of little towns and sites to see. If I were to do the trip again, I'd be more leisurely about it. You're in for a great trip. Cheers!

hey im from australiam and coming over to the us in march next year and we are driving from seattle to san franscisco and i was juust wondering what route that was looks beautiful.
@thefudgegerbil Got an album for sale? Would totally love a copy!
Steve, we are making the trip from San Francisco to Seattle as our honeymoon, staying along the coast as we go. Would you have any advice on whether we should take or skip the 1 from San Francisco to Seattle? Taking the 1 until it ends at the 101 adds 2 hours to our trip, but we don't know if it is worth it or not. I've been trying to find advice and that is how I stumbled upon your video :D
That's so sick, I just moved to Orange County from Portland. Wish I could go back
i love you, please make more i subbed liked fav and will share on fb and twitter
How long is the trip?
What’s music? So beautiful!
Do you remember the route you took? how long did it take you?
I have some questions on how you made this. I'm looking to do something similar soon and you are clearly a pro. Please get up with me.
how come there was no welcome home for mommy ?
I'd been living in San Francisco for about a year and commuting back and forth to Seattle on the weekends. It was a tough year, being separated from my family. I ended up quitting a very cool job to go back to where my heart was and will always be: The Great Pacific Northwest. My wife flew down and drove back home with me.
Wow Thx. All the best
you can't beat the west coast states
Looks like 101?
Yeppers 101 !
liar liar.. I thought you went there in 4 minutes.. just kidding :)
beautiful video.. I should try something like this on my next long trip.
btw mine is 100th like ;)
How the fuck did you get there in 4 minutes
Why would someone drive from San Francisco to Seattle or vice versa? It's so long of a drive! SF to LA or vice versa is much shorter and better for a road trip!
We should show how the liberals have trashed both these cities!
Honestly, in most cases, I tend to lean left, but there’s truth to what you’re saying. In Seattle our policies regarding the homeless have gotten so crazy, the police no longer have the power to enforce basic laws. Homeless addicts are allowed to carry significant quantities of drugs and laws prohibiting litter, indecent exposure, public intoxication, petty theft are ignored. We’re accommodating bad behavior and it’s ruining the city I love. Shanty towns on any available green space. Ugh. Hey, I don’t know you, but the radical left and the radical right are equally batshit crazy to me. Both do their best to shut down any ideas that don’t fit in their narrow ideology. Both are dogmatic. I like to consider myself an extreme centrist. I could go on, but thanks for watching and have a great day.
