California to Washington Epic Road Trip

- Our family road trip from Los Angeles to Seattle was full of fun! We saw every single capitol on the west coast (Sacramento, CA; Salem, OR; Olympia, WA) and stopped for a little sightseeing in Portland, too (Oregon Rail Heritage Center)!
It took us 2 days (17 driving hours, plus stops) to get from Southern California to Kayak Point.
Bonus: we just happened upon the Olympic Time Trials for Speed walking! We got to witness the winners learning the qualified to go to Rio 2016!
California, Oregon and Washington State are beautiful states
I also made an extreme road trip from Mexicali Baja California Mexico to New York City with my fam, I won´t be able to forget that, it was completely awesome.
We also drove this... . But from Washington to Los Angeles, and that all back...

What a great way to preserve the memories for your family. I am assuming you moved to CA. from WA originaly ? You seemed to be so serene arriving at the Kayak Park. You made great time especialy with meeting up and the stops you did good. Have a great LIFE !
Actually, I’ve always lived in California. I think I was just so happy because it was SO BEAUTIFUL!! I was the one who found that vacation rental and I was so relieved to see how beautiful it was and how much space there was around the house! We didn’t know what exactly we were renting (vague pictures) so I was quite pleased!

Im going to seattle next month, i live in san deigo but never been outside of cali, is there anything you recommend to be cautious about on the road.. sorry just a bit nervous
It’s a beautiful and easy drive. Just watch your gas because there a few stretches without gas stations. The drive through Lake Shasta is probably the prettiest section so if you go during daylight that’s really beautiful to see! Oh, and in Oregon it’s illegal to pump your own gas, just wait for the attendant to do it. :) enjoy your trip!!
