Being a clueless young guitar playing man, long ago, when I read of 'rotating speakers' in Guitar for the Practicing Musician I envisioned the speaker rotating like a tire...scratched my head about that! Aaah the days before the internet.

You're the first person to actually explain the knobs. Such a common sense part of a demo but you are the first one to do it. Thank you. I just bought the pedal and no other YT demo shows how to actually use it.

Those Dawner Prince folks are such good, nice humans. I'm predisposed to give anything they make a friendly listen because of it. But clearly.. knowing them is not necessary to recognize that this pedal just sounds magnificent. I love your choices on this, Senor Pete,... really shows off the warble.

that's a great demo of a really cool pedal Pete, thanks, especially useful to go through the controls and not only see what you're doing but practically how it impacts the effect. As always - great stuff.

This one is really impressive Pete. Has a great character to it. Thanks for the entire demo. The pedal has a simple enough control layout and yet sounds a cut above the rest in its class. I like that this rotary appears to be on the verge of being multiple modulation effects all at once.

Sounds beautiful. Really big and chewy. Again Pete, the track at the beginning of the song is just class. Really love that aspect of your demos. The tracks you write always show the pedals in a musical context in songs I personally would actually listen to. Absolutely invaluable. There’s so much is newer you tubers can learn (and perhaps borrow) from you. Brill stuff.

The shine on you crazy diamond demonstration is impressive, really nails the tone of its namesake album/the Div. Bell tour. Something so liquid and yet so thick about it. Kind of nails a median point between Gilmour's Leslie effect of his late 60s and 70s tones, and his Yamaha effect from the late 70s and 80s with a bit more richness. A+ demo

@@GuitarJawn Disagree, this is entirely different and serves a different purpose. Dark sides rotary sounds don’t scratch the surface of what this can do. The dark sides big flaw imo is also that it makes you choose between modulation and delay, when Gilmour used both at the same time pretty often.

It's worth noting that on the only official recording of the Division Bell tour- the Earl's Court performance captured on the P.U.L.S.E live album and concert film- Gilmour dialed back the doppolas considerably because he felt the effect wouldn't translate well to a stereo recording, and would just sound messy.
The only way to get a good idea of how they sounded is to listen to the higher quality audience-recorded bootlegs of the '94 tour, where you can really sense the 3D effect through the Floyd's quad sound system. It was almost strictly a "you have to hear it in person" effect for the listening enjoyment of the audience.

It's kind of interesting how all of this design energy goes into making foot pedals for the floor.
Then we keep them at arm-level, and use our hands to control them most of the time. (Obviously can't tweak with your toes.)
Almost starting to think these things would be better as desk/amp top units, with a single footswitch to extend to the floor.

If you have never tried out a rotating speaker emulator before, PLEASE do NOT try it out - whatever the brand/model - in mono. Real physical rotating speakers have a spatial swirl to them that is 75-80% of their magic. In mono, they will sound like a somewhat better chorus pedal, and the ramping is nice, but that's about it. It's only when the sound begins to swirl around you that you get truly lost in it and captured by it. And that requires some sort of stereo setup, whether two amps or headphones.
