- STONKS-9800 is a simulator game where you play as an 80s Japanese stock market businessperson. You can chill, catch a retro vibe and watch your profits grow in the text-based game.
STONKS-9800 invokes a genuine sense of endless possibilities in the player, providing a vibrant, fantastical sandbox and a series of comprehensible tools with which to engage with it. It pokes and prods with different options, but ultimately it is up to the player how they wish to direct their narrative.

Hey all. We also need to remember that Stonks 9800 is a 1 man project... and that 1 man? he is in the Ukraine. thats why its taking as long as it is to be released.
I have spoken to him on Discord a few times... I am just glad he is safe, and I cant wait to see how the game progresses in the future.
there was some patch that fix some of the bug you posted here its in an lot better shape now. I when all the way to the year 2000s and got the true wining game over it need an litter more work like when you sell the stock in the drug trade and you just game over after the 1 call tell you to buy them back it just end so its in a lot better shape.

how tf do you actually succeed in this game, you literally dont ever get to understand why things happen in your company and you can lose dozens of millions and go bankrupt in like 2 months literally just because and your employees just all become miserable and leave. And even if you do know what's wrong there's barely any control you have over your own company and theres no real strategy, it's just set up the basics and hope it survives. This game sucks.
