Thank you Dr peng, this video has inspired me to do as your example patient i have all the same symptoms and am at my last option and that is knee replacement. I do not want to go through that i am a 62 yr old male 60lbs overweight and i could lose my job due to my mobility issues not being able to perform my duties at work i am afraid this could cause me to lose my home i have work all my life for. I will follow your advice and use her as a mentor. Thank you both for caring, im finding health care just wants your insurance $if your lucky enough to have insurance and after they are finished taking that$ then they dont seem to care much more to help.im so disappointed in our health care in this country its nice to have real people like you Jeffrey that really care.

My husband at the age of 52 had bone on bone in his right knee. We decided he was too young for a knee replacement so opted for stem cell treatment at the Melbourne Stem Cell centre here in Australia. It wasn’t cheap and we had to travel from one end of Australia to the other for the treatment but it definitely worked. MRI clearly showed the regrowth of cartlidge and he is pain free still 6 years later. He still has some stem cells available if he wants to have them injected later on if his knee deteriorates.

knee replacement is a scam. I am sorry that so many people fall into it. there are a lot of effective treatments of knee pain especially traditional treatments

Be careful about stem cell treatments. Stem cell can turn into cancer.

How about knee decompression I have had acl mcl and meniscus tear 45 years ago. Was able to walk a couple of miles for years. Suddenly about a year and a half ago I developed a lot of pain and could only get around with a cane. Took physical therapy for 6 weeks. Definitely helped the strength in the muscles but was still needing a cane.Than after about the same period of time as we speak to today I've been doing leg swings using 10 lbs ankle weights.rsults have been I've been able to walk with out a cane and considerable reduced pain. Have not been able to get back to long walks but I'm able to ride exercise bike for 30 minutes under light loads

dr. Peng, I just want to say a big thank you for all these info! As a scrub I was able to discuss this topic with Orto surgeons and where not aware for some of these info.. I actually suffer with knee problems after two ACL repair and soon as I over do (10-12K steps) it’s flare up.. My experience icing , turmeric paste ( self made) and tumaric supplement along with red light therapy and cabbage wrap is very helpful. I do specific exercises to strengthen gluten and other muscles and after that either ice or cabbage wrap is the most helpful. I do believe the PRP treatment a good option. I had for lower back pain and worked very well . Thank you again for your hard work !

Thank you for such comprehensive explanations and the downloadable material. I am a 59 year old with practically no cartilage left in both knees and a torn meniscus in one knee. I have severe pain most days, exercise does help but I have to gauge how much is too much. Working has become a nightmare, as obviously being on my legs for long shifts, with little chance of sitting, is pretty much hell and wipes me out for the next day. I really can't see me working up to my retirement age. I am currently receiving steroid injections and strong analgesia, so having every treatment evaluated is invaluable.

2:21 Add a 6th category: Cure. That should always be on a doctors mind not just treatments. I recall a doctor telling me many years ago, that I had arthritis. What? I said, I am too young to have arthritis. His response was you can have it at any age. What caused it?, I asked. We don’t know. Well, it’s the food that we eat and it’s not genetics. I reversed it and I was pain free. Notice family members from all ages having the same problem, then there’s that one family member that decides to do something different and they no longer have the family problem. Observational science is an amazing way to find a quick answer under certain circumstances, but it’s a critical thinking skill that modern day doctors lack or don’t understand. It’s not taught anymore.

@ Hi Rick. I am three times your senior. My eating habits were total juicing with a Vita-Mix having two eggs and toast, rarely drink except on special occasions, cheese and crackers, homemade salads, not organic for any of the foods. Lean chicken breast or pork cutlets and rarely got fast food. Most of the food was made at home, so not your typical SAD (Standard American Diet). I thought that was healthy and never looked into a vegan lifestyle. That wasn’t for me because I love my meat. This is the first 50 years of my life and I could feel myself slowing down, and I am an active gymnastics coach. I love cheese and crackers, but this was a big problem with my joints now everywhere.
I really start digging into journals and went vegan, then whole plant base, but I will have seafood from time to time. I discovered it was the animal protein. Specifically Casein and Cheese is a concentrated form. I gave up all cheese and milk products and found other foods to substitute it. My joints felt lose in two months and about six months my pain starting going away. Now this goes along with stretching and moving my body where the pain started going away everywhere in over a year. You are young so it will be shorter for you since you have more stem cells than I do. I hope this story of mine helped and if you have any other questions let me know. It is a lifestyle change that was tough at first, but when you notice the pain returning when you try to go back to the old lifestyle I just no thank you. My friend my age are hurting badly and they wonder why I can do the things I can do. They won’t change and I watch them get worse.

I have been having pain for the last 4 years and it got worse over the last 2 years. I have had tried different exercises recommended by my Orthopedist and PT and have had no improvement. I’m interested about the PRP injection. Also you mentioned about stop all the anti inflammatory med two weeks before and after PRP. That would be the one that concluded "Among patients with symptomatic mild to moderate radiographic knee OA, *intra-articular injection of PRP, compared with injection of saline placebo, did **_not_** result in a significant difference in symptoms or joint structure at 12 months.* These findings do not support use of PRP for the management of knee OA."

Great videos, I'm going to give a little constructive criticism.
I would agree that exercise it's not the cause of arthritis. However over use of body parts is a factor.
Body parts are like car parts. You only get so many hours or miles out of them!

This is the short form. I've spent probably 100 times this 1 hour trying to find this information. If you can't spend 1.25 hours getting educated, then go ahead and get the surgery, knowing there's a 1 in 4 chance you won't be happy with the outcome. I've spent 9 years hunting for these alternatives to surgery and this is the first time I've heard several of these. Surgeons make way too much with a surgery to recommend alternatives. Pharmaceuticals make way too much to recommend alternatives. I've had my knee replaced twice now and I've regained 100% flexibility each time. Still a poor outcome.

Great info. I am treating with gel injections, cold-laser therapy, shockwave therapy and PT along with collagen supplements to prevent getting a knee replacement. You should advise that any injection be done with ultrasound imaging so the medicine gets in the knee joint.

Yes. Granted, most treatments will not work as well as for severe bone on bone as those with mild to moderate arthritis. But check out the patient testimonial I talk about at the end. She has bone on bone and is thriving.

I get shots. I will continue. I have been keeping ahead of knee replacement. The shots keep me going. Meds keep changing their minds on what works. Gel shots do nothing for me. I am bone on bone. I have a torn meniscus. Let’s face it how much can these shots hurt me. As long as they work, I will continue on. Surgery is my last resort.

Strengthening the quads as shown on a machine in this video is NOT a good idea! Strengthening the GLUTES is the way to go. Weak glutes contribute to knee problems because of the muscle imbalance that it creates.

    • @lizhall2961
      @lizhall2961 7 місяців тому

Carnivore diet has not been studied for a long time and is high in saturated fats. A lot more studies show the benefits of whole, healthful, plant food diets. See this link. No benefits from high sugar, refined plant foods. Soluble fiber in plant foods is anti-inflammatory.
