- You can learn how to Crochet My Mini Bag pattern in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This cross body bag works up quickly and easily, plus it's great to carry when you only want to take along your cell phone, cards and other small items. Also, it's worked with one continuous strand of yarn (even the handles and edging) so unless you want a lining, there's no sewing either. And if you want a lining, there's an easy way to do so with craft felt. Plus you can wear it as a purse or a cross body bag. This uses the star stitch for the flap.

It never occurred to me to use a stitch marker on my work. I learned crochet at a young age from an elderly woman who was clearly able to determine where her first stitch was!!! I love how simple these patterns are :-)
The fact that you said to mark the beginning and end of the row is really important! That's something not everyone knows or do and it can help you a lot, specially if you are a noob like myself.

Did this bag with thinner yarn and smaller hook to make carry just a wallet and cell it turned out great and a longer strap to do a crossbody, I love the flap. Thank you for your tutorial. I've done a about 6 of your tutorials and they all look great .

Hi Donna, thanks for the video. Just a quick question. Im making the flap, but I realize the row where we put 2 hdc in each eye, then 2 more at the end, its getting longer than the other side. How do I correct that?

Thank you for the pattern and video. Very hard to get that nylon. I'm using Lion brand 24/7 cotton in jade. It's working up nicely. Will post pictures when done

I am a beginner painstakingly working to learn how to make simple bags, lined with a zipper. I love this bag design (when I'm better practiced), love your sweater at the video beginning, I like working with yarn like this because I don't split yarn as often and can see the stitch shape more easily. When making wider bag straps, how do you prevent them from stretching once the handbag is loaded and in use? And thank you for the helpful videos!
Single crochet straps, with a single crochet border around the entire strap will help prevent the stretching.

Pretty bag, and you've made it so easy, not having to join yarn. I've never used nylon thread, but it looks interesting to work with.
At about 9:00, you said to single crochet the chain to the other side of the purse, but it looks like you used a slip stitch.
You can do either a slip stitch or a SC, it really doesn't matter.
