Should we count SC and a chain as a stitch?

Yes, when you’re making the top of the flap and starting the round with a chain 1, then 2 sc into each of the 9 spaces, you don’t count the chain 1. You count from the sc only.

Would it be possible to make this bag a little bit bigger?? My chain 19 is smaller than I wanted. It’s about 4 1/2-5 inches wide. I could do it larger, but the adorable lacy part would be to small!!☹️

Hi, this is cotton dk yarn / 4 ply that is suitable for a 3.5 - 4 mm hook. A brand in India called Laura knitting cotton but you will find suitable brands wherever you are.

Lion Brand 24/7 medium 4 weight is perfect for this pattern. It is a mercerized cotton and works up beautifully with this pattern. It has a sheen to it. I love this pattern for a little girl. Perfect and great instructional video. ❤
