In this video, Steph shows the impact that Corsa 1 7/8" long tube headers have on the new Mustang GT's exhaust note. She measures the changes in volume with a sound level meter and discovers impressive results from the new headers. When compared side by side, the difference in the stock active exhaust's sound is surprising.

I have to admit stock active exhaust does sound very good. (with or without headers)
I don't know why but I was paying attention to her doing the tip toes standing up the whole time.
😂 😂 me too I don’t know why
I asked her a question while I was up here that’s why 😇😎😇
long tube headers do make it louder but it does not make it sound better in my opinion. The stock exhaust has a beautiful tone to it .
Shival Anand, I was thinking the same thing, for the first time ford has put on a system that I might just leave alone (if I had one of these)
Agree, I'd be curious to see what ARH headers sound like as they have a slightly different sound to them. However I think I'll only need to put an H pipe on it. Cheaper for me!
lacenter645 Ford really listened to their customers feedback for this generation mustang and I think they have a great exhaust for 2018 mustang . If I had a 2018 mustang I will just option the sports exhaust and be done with it .
The headers and quiet mode did sound a bit odd but with the rest of the modes i think the headers improved the tone
I agree I think it sounds better stock and how much power did it increase.
Wow she sounds nasty with long tubes and track mode! I was looking around for something like this for mine. Thanks!
I was excited to see someone do this comparison because the stock exhaust does sound so good! However I was hoping it would be long tubes with cats for a better comparison to the stock setup. Thx AM
Great comparison video!
Can you do this but add an H and X pipe to the test bed? Would be VERY interested to see the result and difference in tone. Thanks!
It's too loud imo.
123 is plenty loud but you could obviously expect it to be louder.
X if you want raspy H if you want a deeper tone, X will give a straight pipe sound H will give a factory deep tone
I'd love to hear the long tubes with an H pipe instead of an X pipe. It completely changes the sound on the 2005-2014 Mustangs using long tubes with an H pipe instead of X pipe. I'm sure it would do the same on the 2015+ models also.
Awesome video!! I like the comparison and imo prefer normal mode over all others. Sounds the cleanest without rasp
As others have said, please bolt up the corsa x pipe and do another comparison. For a lot of people removing the factory resonator but leaving the active mufflers will be the first step, would be nice to see the difference with headers
Exactly where i am at, i have the headers, just want to pick between a H or X pipe and keep the OEM axle back.
See, I went ahead and did the resonator delete on mine. I got the Roush x pipe, so I would be interested in seeing how much it will take to make it work
Sounds great! Now put it on the dyno to find out what the power and torque gains are!
Can you do a cold start video!! Cold start with stock exhaust and cold start with headers.
I'm a diehard MOPAR guy and have a 2018 Challenger R/T but it sure doesn't sound like that!!!!!! Awsome sound
Told the boss I had to take an early lunch so I could watch this. Sounds clean! Great review Steph!
now do a H pipe and X pipe paired with it. I have the headers already for my 18 active exhaust, just haven't decided h or x yet.
Go with
Borla X Pipe
OR
Roush H Pipe
In my opinion both of them are great 💯
So are you guys selling it on your guys website????
Is it just me or does Normal Mode sound the best?
It's probably microphone limitations
When you getting ringing in your ears that won't go away, You won't have to wonder if this was a good modification.
Agreed. This is just stupid.
@@thedon9670 it’s stupid because people want more power out of their car with the long tube headers? LOL
Did yall delete the resonator or hook up in front of it?
Now do a resonator delete and post the same vid

Maybe you've seen this by now, but this video is pretty much exactly what you're looking for.

Does this car still have the factory resonator?? I have installed a C&L H-Pipe on my car and am wondering if headers and an adaptor will still fit or if I need some kind of shorty H pipe??
My car with the H pipe in sport mode is only 2 decibels quieter than this one.
I have a 19 Bullitt with a h pipe, and active exhaust. Plenty loud as is. My buddy who tracks at thunder Hill ,says i may get black flagged for noise in track mode🙄
Not sure how the local noise police would react to this? I see ,and hear mustangs way lowder than my Bullitt all the time. That 5.0 sounds so good❤
I wonder if catted headers would have less rasp.
Does the long tube headers or hpipe void factory warranty?
i got same set up with x pipe and its stupidly loud still ok to cruise around tho since im manual haha, bah yeah the valves are needed when you going for a build that loud... gonna switch for h pipe soon to raspy for me
I wonder if there is a way to retrofit Ford's active exhaust? I imagine installing it would be easy but adding the setting to the display would be hard
It would need to have the activated in the programming, and would also depend on if they aren't using that output for something else on a mustang without it
I feel like yall just made the audio louder on the header parts lol
Can you keep your resonator when installing your headers ?
MID PIPES? OR OEM ?
Did this with a X pipe and high flow cats loud as H then tried bullet mufflers loud as H have the magnaflow tru x resonator coming hope it helps.
Normal mode with headers sounds the best
Have you tested the non-active exhaust loudness with headers? If so what was it at? Or can you take best guess which setting it would be closest to?
I'm not sure if you really have the desire to know anymore. But the non active exhaust with long tubes is almost like stock. I mean it got a little more rasp to it and its not very deep. I'd say its like putting an x pipe on. Maybe a little quieter honestly. I ran it for about a month.
Bryan E. I appreciate the response. I ended up getting headers and a resonated x pipe. I think it’s too quiet now though lol
Veneno Villainwafer if you got the resonated x pipe, you should get the Borla s type axle back. I have a buddy with that same setup and it sounds pretty nasty
Can you guys do a video of what the Flowmaster outlaw active would sounds like?
Can you guys make a video one day and debunk the bad stigma that bad drivers have given the mustang.
Active exhaust ?
Main question is, does this corsa active exhaust fit on the 2015-2017 gt mustangs?
It would fit with a Roush rear valance, however getting the active system to function properly would the most difficult part. -Justin
How loud are the corsa extreme’s with longtubes for comparison sake?
That would be ungodly loud the stock 18+ are already loud cars
3star2nr that’s the sound I want but I’m assuming the loudness can be controlled with active exhaust modes ?
Borla attack has a deeper, better sound for this car.
Sound nasty 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Wow i Love it
Great video Steph! Lookin good!
I don’t believe this can be louder than an F-18, cuz those only rack up to 118 decibels. I work with them and they’re loud af, ain’t no way
After being in proximity to many Mustangs with long tubes and loud exhausts - they're definitely loud as hell. There's definitely a way they're louder. -Zach
I was told by an exhaust shop that every 5db the volume actually doubles
cool story
Lara Robinson No, every time the db doubles, the volume doubles
Actually, every 3dB means a 100% increase in sound energy. So the exhaust is actually 3 times louder than stock
Full corsa exhaust
You can get it straight piped an have the same sound as track
Pls just put it on the limiter for each test.......WTF?
You should of had lower revs and some idling to with the headers. Not realistic sound for us city drivers
That sounds like garbage. Sad when the stock exhaust sounds better. Too raspy
I have to agree....
Absolutely. Way too raspy for an american V8.
Loud does not mean sound better. HP/TQ gain?
forcedair 92gt think this car is the same one that made 500 wheel with an aftermarket catback.
@@blackonefifty yeah but that was with E85
What is up with the sound? Doesn’t match up, big delay.
Every vid I’ve seen from this channel with exhaust comparisons rev further with the modded exhaust lmao
Why is she standing on her toes?
😂
Quiet mode sounds terrible...yeesh
Just re watched the resonator delete/clamp in x pipe video and the sounds aren't that much different DB wise. And based on the results, the resonator delete sounds better and costs less.
I don't see the cost/benefit of the headers unless there are other upgrades going with it or boost is added.
ua-cam.com/video/2xIrqOHfG7w/v-deo.html
quiet mode is for a purpose..to be quiet.
But the chick is smokin !
That loud
The chick is 145 decibels
Eh
Holy crap that Corsa exhaust makes it sound like crap...smh.
Why do yall rev to redline 😂
Gotta let the people know how things sounds throughout the entire RPM band. 🤷♂️ -Zach
American Muscle, I have a 2015 Roush with Roush's phase 2 Supercharger. I also have a Corsa extreme 3" exhaust. I really don't care about your loud comparison. I don't think you'll find a better sounding exhaust than what I have. What I would like to know is did you do comparisons as to torque & hp. I'm trying to decide if the cost to do the headers is worth what would be gained in hp & torque.
When I'm looking for a newer mustang to purchase, I need to make sure not purchase your guinea pig test car that you use in these videos. Especially after the way you guys rev it
What up with the Walmart sneakers.
Sand Hill all shoes do the same thing you sheep
Sand Hill lmao lol
That V8 sounds ricey
Cant afford shit, so hates on it
Agreed. It's a shit sound.
I had the one off the gt 350 with rear valance sport edition. That was a sound! Got a good deal on it at $2,200 from dealership rather than online at $3K.
@ John Smith not at all bro.
sounds awful
Sounds like crap
You would get better results if you simply cut the resonator out. Probably cost you 50 bucks total. This is a scam. Also you would free up 50 pounds of dead weight. I bet the headers add weight to the car also. Cut the resonator and buy without the 995 dollar electric plate that the call a silencer. That plate wide open obstructs the air flow. My new Mustang won't have any of that shit. You don't like loud then buy a Prius.
Long tube headers are intended for more power, not for a nice sound
@@nozopoke1782 Since when???? Headers are always supposed to give you a better sound. Every set I ever owned did. The point of the entire video is how much louder the headers made the car. That is why they keep showing you the decibel reading dumb ass.
@@IanRLewis louder yes, better no. It adds a bunch of rasp
