Thank you all so much for watching! For those who don’t know, I was having so many copyright issues with this one. I’m a little sad that the flow of this video isn’t how I envisioned it to be, but regardless I really hope you all still enjoyed. Love you guys! ❤
Ugh, now Natasha needs explaining. Natasha was originally a villain. She was introduced as a member of a world-class ballet troupe who turned out to be a Russian spy. So if you were a kid back in the 60s or 70s, you found yourself looking at the action sequences and thinking "What would a ballerina who could kick ass look like in real life?" People who are not comic book nerds barely know about her connections to ballet, but if she was capable of posing as a world-class ballerina, that means she has mad ballet skills. So when she was introduced in Iron Man 2, that was in the forefront of my mind, and I was so relieved when the stunt choreographers, stunt doubles, and the actress herself gave us the most awesome possible answer to the question "What would it look like if a ballerina could kick ass?" This, by the way, is the reason for her posing, which a certain someone makes fun of her for in a later movie. By the way, I really love Natasha's platonic friendships with Steve and Clint. There aren't enough close male-female non-romantic friendships in the movies, and the friendship they establish in this movie is really touching.
I appreciate saying you already knew who the winter soldier was, not living under a rock. I think a lot of people would just try and play it up instead for the content.
I've noticed that a lot of reactors respond the same way to Bucky at 41:00 as you did. It took a few watches, but I realized something that makes his reaction in that moment make perfect sense, and makes it even more gut wrenching; earlier, Bucky insisted that he knew Steve, and was promptly tortured because of it, then later Steve himself insists the same thing, but Bucky has a very visceral and violent reaction to the idea. He clearly knows that, logically, something isn't adding up, but the conditioning is just too strong. Hydra actually forced Bucky to associate Steve, his own best friend, with pain.
"Secure the engine room. _Then_ find me a date." "I'm multitasking." 🤣 I love the banter the writer(s) put in to show that these two have become good friends.
I think Natasha works much better paired with Steve here, compared to Tony in Iron Man 2, because it allows her to be the more irreverent one. Also, the title actually has a double meaning. Yes, "The Winter Soldier" references Bucky, but it also references the work of Thomas Paine, an 28th century writer and supporter of the American Revolution. In his published works, he contrasted "the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot" (people who only stand up and fight when it's safe and easy) to "the winter soldier" (people who fight, even when it's hard, like Steve). Thus, you could say that Captain America *IS* the Winter Soldier.
The reason Abhed from Community's actor is in this, is that The directors (the Russo brothers) directed a bunch of community episodes, including Paintball two parter
If you knew how guns work, especially with a gatling gun that big, the recoil is pretty extreme. He was probably aiming for the legs but couldn't hold the gun downwards due to the overpowering upward pull. Also, the barrel blocks the pivot, it's both a design and safety mechanism. That's why you always see more armor or bulletproof vests on the upper body, not just because of vital organs, but because of physics and science of gun design.
A couple of fun facts: 1. The guy who refused to launch the helicarriers was also in Community. He was the guy in the wheelchair in the debate episode who launched himself into Jeff's arms to prove that "Man is good." 2. The Russo Brothers, who directed this movie, directed a lot of episodes of Community. And they sprinkle Community cameos in several MCU movies. Enjoy. 3. The guy who played Alexander Pierce is an actor named Robert Redford who was a big star in the 70s and 80s. One of the movies he starred in (which I highly recommend, by the way) was called Three Days of the Condor. And the tag line on the poster for that movie was: "His CIA code name is Condor. In the next seventy-two hours, almost everyone he trusts will try to kill him." I'm fairly sure that, when Cap and Nat show up at Sam's door and Nat says "Everyone we know is trying to kill us," it's meant to be a reference to Three Days of the Condor.
So excited you've entered the WANDA phase of the MCU! My favorite character! Great reaction as always. And I'm glad that you took time for yourself when you needed it. Don't worry about us, we'll be fine! 🙂
Welcome back! Copyright issues are incredibly frustrating. I understand you are a one-woman-show, but you might consider splitting these longer films into 2 parts - that seems to let you get more parts of the film in. This film really shows how much the Russo Bros (directors) get these heroes... they do a great job of showing what a bad-ass Steve is, especially with the shield, and they also give Natasha a much larger role, and she's amazing. The next Capt America film will make your head explode.
Thank youuuuu! I’ve been thinking about the possibility of splitting films into 2 part videos. It definitely does allow more of the film to be seen and not be cut out. We’ll see! I probably won’t do it to them all, but I know I’ll definitely have to do that when I get to Endgame. Actually, maybe even Infinity War
@@kaylyptic I understand - editing is not a quick process. Oh!... you were excited to see Danny Pudi from Community... well, the Russo Bros. were actually part of the creative team behind that show and even directed quite a few episodes in the first couple of seasons, so keep your eyes open for some other cameos in future films.
The russo brothers also directed a few episodes of community which propelled kevin feige to approach them about directing this movie. They also direct the next captain America film and the next two avengers films.
Great reaction. Very happy that you don't live under a rock. 😉 Most of those not familiar with the comics were taken by surprise that Bucky was The Winter Soldier. Despite having that knowledge, the reveal was handled so well. Cap and Bucky didn't kill each other so that is a victory. The Russo Brothers do practical effects extremely well. One of the Russo brothers (Joe) plays the Doctor when they escape with Maria Hill and Natasha gets her shoulder treated. Guardians is a great movie. Bullet Train was a blast. Both Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry stole that movie. Tangerine and Lemon.
Captains America has one of the best trilogies in the MCU and with this one the hand to hand combat and the tone of the movie just worked so well, agree the movie is so fast pace but so enjoyable glad you had a great time with this one also take your time with the videos both this channel and the gaming channel are great content so dont burn yourself out and when you do post it the videos come out great
This film, along with Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame, were directed by the Russo Brothers, who were executive producers and frequent directors of Community, thus Danny Pudi cameoing here. So keep an eye out for more Community cameos in future films.
Not entirely sure but hasn't it been said leg power is much stronger than arm power so that kicking technically is more powerful than punching? Makes sense why Cap's punches may knock out people easily but his kicks send them flying.
Great reaction! And Welcome Back! 😊 This is easily one of my top 5 favorite MCU movies so far. We got the returns of Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, amuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Colbie Smulders as SHIELD agent Maria Hill. And the MCU debut of Anthony Mackie as one of my favorites Sam Wilson/the Falcon. "I hope nothing happens to Agent Sitwell" Well..... Love the addition of actor Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce. You never would've known he was a bad guy until he shot his housekeeper. 9:21 Surprise #1 Peggy Carter is still alive. 17:25 - 18:36 The elevator scene is my all-time favorite scene in this movie. Fun Fact #1: Jeremy Renner(Clint Barton/Hawkeye) was to suppose to have a brief cameo appearance in this movie alerting Steve that SHIELD/Hydra was tracking him through his Captain America suit. That why you see that he changed clothes. There's actually a deleted scene of Steve ditching his Captain America suit at a high school, and taking a set of clothes. 22:34 Love the "WarGames" movie reference from Natasha here. That is a good movie. One thing I love about the Bucky twist is that we didn't have to wait long for an explanation on how Bucky survived that fall in the first "Captain America" movie. Steve knew, and was correct, that Hydra was behind it. Surprise #3: Nick Fury is also alive! Fun Fact #2: The doctor that helped fake Fury’s death and tended to Natasha's gun shot wound was co-director Joe Russo. He and his brother Anthony directed this movie. Fun Fact #3: If you go back and pause it on the moment when you see the Hydra target aiming for the Avengers tower, you'll see that Anthony(Tony)Stark was also a target. Sitwell said that Steve and Bruce were also targets. That's half of the OG 6 Avengers that were a big threat to taking down Hydra at some point. You can see it in Bucky's eyes that there was a breakthrough when Steve told him that he was with Bucky "til the end of the line". 45:01 Glad that you're already familiar with Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlett Witch and Aaron Taylor Johnson as her twin brother Pietro. Looking forward to "Guardians of the Galaxy" next. 😊
I just thought of an interesting bit of Trivia: Alexander Pierce is played by legendary actor/director, and founder of the Sundance film festival ROBERT REDFORD! He was a marque star in the 60's thru 80s. As a director, he directed Scarlett Johansson as a little girl in a film called THE HORSE WHISPERER. So, this movie was a reunion of sort for those two!
glad to see you back with the reactions, can’t wait for more! take your time, as long as you need, and just take care of yourself above all else. hope you have a great day and an even better weekend 🎉
There are cameos from Community cast members in nearly all of the MCU movies that the Russo Brothers directed, as they previously directed episodes of Community before being hired by Marvel Studios. Joe Russo also cameos as the guy who wants to tend to Natasha's gunshot wound.
Welcome back. So a fun fact, we all look for Stan Lee, but in the films done by Anthony & Joe Russo, one or both of them also make an appearance.. usually it’s Joe. In this movie, he plays the doctor taking care of Nick Fury and BlackWidow.
Excellent choreography in these fights, I'd agree. The guy who plays the french pirate who Steve fights at the beginning was actually the stunt double who did Captain Americas' stunts in the previous MCU films.
Great reaction to another awesome MCU movie! As I said on your reaction to the first Captain America movie, these are the best written and directed movies in the MCU, both on story and character development. Even "minor" characters, such as Maria Hill, Agent 13/Nurse Next Door, and even the jackwagon Rumlow, get serious character development. And the story of Captain America is how everyone can be a hero, just like the normal everyman character who refused to launch Project Insight, even with a gun to his head. That is in many ways the best thing about Captain America stories in the MCU: anyone can be a hero, from the soldiers of the Howling Commandos in the first movie to the guy who refused to launch in this movie. Heroes can be anyone, and anyone can be heroes. I love that message.
O.M.G... The background music hit me like a ton of bricks and for some reason now I'm crying because my mom isn't here to play Mario 64 with me🥲 *Memories unlocked* Great reaction btw. This is one of my favorite MCU movies.
Definitely make the videos when you feel up to it, your audience will still be here, I hope you don't feel pressure to do it. Winter Soldier is one of the top Marvel movies, and the Russo Brothers don't make bad movies, they know how to keep you watching! But this one in particular was a very good action/spy/thriller that stands well on its own!
Great Reaction...... The List in Steve's notebook, changed geographiclly based on where the movie was released (USA/England/France/Asia)...... Because I didn't go see this in theaters, "Marvel's Agents of Shield" Season 2 on TV was very confusing, cause all they would say was "Everything is different after what happened in Washington....." I say that to show how ALL the movies in the MCU interlink...... Reason Chris and Scarlet have such great onscreen chemistry is they have been friends and worked on projects together since being teenagers....... The Senator (Leaving Lunch) is the same Senator that was at the Hearing in "Ironman 2" where Stark and Hamer where fighting over control of the "Ironman Technology".....
This is easily one of the best movies in the MCU. Cap and Nat are both major badasses in the fight scenes, the story is fantastic, and the twists were well executed. The Falcon(Sam) made his live action debut in this one as well and Anthony Mackie was a great casting choice, as are all of the actors in the MCU. And I agree, the scene with Steve and Peggy was sweet and heartbreaking since it revealed that not only was Peggy in the final stage of her life, she also had Alzheimer's(or Dimensia, whichever one it was).
The guy who played the big bad, Alexander Pierce, is played by legendary actor, Robert Redford. Back in the '60s and '70s he was the handsome man in movies. I highly recommend either "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" or "The Sting" or both. Simply great older films.
My fav Captain America movie in the trilogy so far ugh it’s so good the music & action scenes and the story is one of my favs marvel needs to do more spy stuff. Steve is marvels superman honestly
Welcome to the peak of the MCU. There'll be bigger comic-book style moments down the track, but in terms of pacing, cinematography and fight choreography? You won't even see just fight choreography this good until Shang Chi, never mind the full package.
Glad to see your reaction to this amazing movie! Kayly, you've got to remember to keep tissues on hand, most especially when it's an MCU film you're watching. In this franchise, you never know when a tear-jerker scene is on the way. You weren't the only one to realize the Winter Soldier's identity ahead of time. Those of us who knew the character from the comics saw it coming right from the title. I hope you won't suffer from too many spoilers from here on. And you wondered about the people under those falling airships. It was very astute of you to think of that. Keep it in mind -- that sort of detail is going to be significant in the future.
It has always puzzled me that Cap's shield can take a blow from Thor's hammer, Cap can use it to absorb the impact when free falling from the elevator, but Batroc makes an impression by _kicking_ it!? BTW, the actor playing Batroc is a national expert in Savate. That's not a stunt men. I'm surprised you didn't react more to Robert Redford. He's been around since the 1950s, and won many awards. In the 1970s he starred in a series of suspense/spy movies, hence his casting here. Marvel has some serious mojo if they can cast Redford, Jackson, and RDJ in their movies. Cap's original WW2 costume included Kevlar weave, so to a certain extent it's bullet proof. Still hurts like hell when you get hit. 😏 Yes, Aaron Johnson plays Pietro in the MCU, but his KICK ASS co-star Evan Peters stars as Pete Maximov (American) in the X-Men: Days of Future Past (McAvoy, not Stewart). Short version: Marvel needed money, so they sold the IP rights to Spider-Man to Sony, and the rights to the X-Men to Fox. That's why we haven't seen them yet in the MCU.
If you loved this movie you should definitely watch Agents Of SHIELD! The first season starts a bjt slow, but after it picks up it doesn't stop getting better
28:19 Ikr, anyways.. i enjoyed the reactions sooo much as off now, and consider that you have now got a new subscriber. First time watching anything from your channel, and gotta say, ur reactions and ur work is amazing..
I love, love Nick Fury's elevator story about his grandfather. If you've been following the MCU up to this point, it is very easy to think of Nick Fury as some kind of untouchable god of espionage and forget that he is an ordinary human being with extraordinary skills. That elevator story is genius because it sounds like it could have come from any African-American. They remind you that Nick Fury is a normal human right before putting him in extreme danger in the car chase. The Russo brothers are so good!
The MCU should've stayed this way with cameos in each movie it doesn't make sense to have an expanded universe and still have solo movies with absolutely no cameos. Especially for Steve seeing as a lot of his missions revolve around SHIELD it would be dumb if he never worked with any other SHIELD agents like Natasha and Clint.
The Captain America trilogy is in my opinion the second best trilogy of movies. The best in my opinion is Guardians of the Galaxy especially because of Volume 3.
Sorry for being so verbose, but Sam Wilson also needs a fair amount of explanation. Falcon is not the first Black superhero (not by a long shot), but he is the first one that I noticed as a child in the 1970s, so he will always have a very special place in my heart. The story function of Sam Wilson is to introduce the topic of racism to Captain America stories. That is why Sam Wilson in the comic books is a social worker. It gives him opportunities to talk about the subject of racism. In the comics, he would even correct Steve Rogers for microaggressions (although I don't think they called it that back then, I don't think it had a word). So I was very excited to have Sam Wilson in live action, but completely bummed that they did not use the character for his traditional story function. The closest he got to performing his traditional story function was when he recommended the Trouble Man soundtrack. Out of a bunch of movies Falcon was in, that was it. Thankfully, the TV show Falcon and the Winter Soldier makes up for lost time in a big way. Not only does Sam finally have things to say about racism in that show, but the show offers a lot of different African-American views about racism and even features Isiah Bradley, a comic book character who has much harsher things to say about racism than Sam Wilson. While I would have preferred to keep Sam Wilson a social worker for thematic reasons, I love that the MCU changed him to pararescue, as that gives a great excuse for why he can jump in and do superhero stuff. Pararescue are very special, highly-trained Air Force units that go behind enemy lines to rescue downed pilots. Their work is incredibly dangerous, and it provides a great excuse for that fancy experimental flight suit he has.
Have you watched the first "Deadpool" yet, the "ship wreck" they fought on in the latter half should remind you of this movie. I think ONE reviewer of DP, and there have been a lot, made the connection.
Kayly you should definitely listen to it the "Trouble man" soundtrack. It's definitely way better than the movie was and it'll change your perspective on the type of music black artists are now putting out
Hope all is well. ☺️ Good to see you back. 1 day at a time. Remember that when you feel overwhelmed. 😄 checking this out later. One of my favorite MCU films.🖤

True, it has the closest to the real world storylines

Shield making “flying cars” was a running gag in “Agents of Shield”- which is why the AI in Nicks car said “Vertical takeoff is disabled” 😂
The MCU is full of excellent movies, but this one is the best. ⭐

And she probably changed her opinion pretty much right before... well....
Captain America The Winter Soldier put the MCU over the top and ruled the next decade

You'll be happy to know that "Abed" is not the only "Community" connection in this movie.
This movie is directly responsible for my favorite moment in Endgame🤔🤗
loved your reaction..this movie start the top-tier films of the MCU..so enjoy..ooh..you have to have tissues ready next time..hehe
Watching people on their MCU journey while i'm "working" is my passion
that’s an amazing passion and i fully support it
"I didn't bring tissues!" You should just leave tissues there. Most movies that are worth watching _should_ move you to tears!
O.M.G... The background music hit me like a ton of bricks and for some reason now I'm crying because my mom isn't here to play Mario 64 with me🥲 *Memories unlocked* Great reaction btw. This is one of my favorite MCU movies.
Gracefully brutal is probably the best way I have ever heard Nat's character described.
BTW, someone please gift this woman a box of tissues!
The story that Fury told in the elevator is true. It's true for Samuel L. Jackson's grandfather.
The AC never wants to work in a car except for when everything else isn't.
No cuz i like how pierce thought he could stop cap with that threat like what would u do😭
This is easily one of the best movies in the MCU.
Welcome back!
Thank you! :)
"Jeremiah Johnson"!
"That's the arm you don't want to get choked with" - telling on yourself.....
This was a pinnacle of the MCU because agents of shield built this up sooo much.
I highly recommend the original DCAU from 1992 to 2006 it's a beautifully written masterpiece that not even the MCU can dethrone
Pound for pound my favorite MCU movie.
Awesome reaction I think Captain America Winter Soldier is a pretty good movie I hoped you enjoyed it👍
Furys story in the elevator is a REAL story. It was Sam Jacks grandfather
I love how into these movies you are. You just gained a new subscriber!
All you had to do was reference Community when seeing Danny Pudi on screen, and I am subscribed.
Spend the rest of the MCU playing "Spot the COMMUNITY actor" lol
My fav Captain America movie in the trilogy so far ugh it’s so good the music & action scenes and the story is one of my favs marvel needs to do more spy stuff. Steve is marvels superman honestly
that running loop is my running loop in SW DC haha
Welcome to the peak of the MCU. There'll be bigger comic-book style moments down the track, but in terms of pacing, cinematography and fight choreography? You won't even see just fight choreography this good until Shang Chi, never mind the full package.
Absolutely loved your reaction ❤. Thank you
Thank you too!!!
I'm glad your enjoying these Marvel movies I would say your content is amazing👍👍👍👍
Thank you always!!! :))
@@kaylyptic Your welcome anytime👍
Where's Waldo. No wait a sec watching this video I was playing "Where's the Hydra Agent".😅
Yes, Aaron Johnson plays Pietro in the MCU, but his KICK ASS co-star Evan Peters stars as Pete Maximov (American) in the X-Men: Days of Future Past (McAvoy, not Stewart).
Short version: Marvel needed money, so they sold the IP rights to Spider-Man to Sony, and the rights to the X-Men to Fox. That's why we haven't seen them yet in the MCU.
Let’s Go ❤ I need to catch up with Sam and Bucky now that I’m living on earth.
Just a suggestion, but for pacing purposes, I would suggest watching Guardians Of The Galaxy vol 2 in-between Ant-Man and Civil War.
If you loved this movie you should definitely watch Agents Of SHIELD!
The first season starts a bjt slow, but after it picks up it doesn't stop getting better
Your reaction has earned my subscription.
"Captain America the Winter soldier" was a patriot act documentary.
Bucky was experimented on by Red Skull before he fell. It may have contributed to his survival.
I love that you’ve seen Community!!!
He was in this movie because it was directed by the Russo Brothers, who directed Many Community and Arrested Development episodes. :-)
You're the only reactor I've seen who noticed sitwell right off the bat. U must of remembered him from Thor or the " one shots"
Welcome back!! Wow, is Kay finally here, to The Winter Soldier?!? Ohhh- Kay!! And now I'll see myself out....
Hahaaa thank you!! I loved this one :)
26:14 a little foreshadowing to dr strange's debut in mcu
Subbed!!! 😂 very dope reaction/reactor
thank you so much!!! 😁
Sam's superhero name is Falcon btw
The Captain America trilogy is in my opinion the second best trilogy of movies. The best in my opinion is Guardians of the Galaxy especially because of Volume 3.
This is peak MCU 🤘🏽
26:44 Still wish they used “Trust a Bro” movers instead of Penske, but I imagine product placement was part of the investment.
The reason for the more action oriented vibe is because of the Russo bros. You're gonna love Cap 3
"We can't lose Coulson and Sitwell"....you really, really, really need to start watching "Agents of Shield"!!!
100%. More Coulson than you can prod with a stick
And a little Sitwell
great reaction
Have you watched the first "Deadpool" yet, the "ship wreck" they fought on in the latter half should remind you of this movie.
I think ONE reviewer of DP, and there have been a lot, made the connection.
i actually have not watched Deadpool yet but want to soon!
Kayly you should definitely listen to it the "Trouble man" soundtrack. It's definitely way better than the movie was and it'll change your perspective on the type of music black artists are now putting out
Always bring tissues from now on.
Hope all is well. ☺️ Good to see you back. 1 day at a time. Remember that when you feel overwhelmed. 😄 checking this out later. One of my favorite MCU films.🖤
Thank you!! I hope all is well with you too :) It feels good to be back and chatting with you all!
