I subscribe to the fan theory that Android 13 is Dr Gero's inner perception of how he actually looks or what he thought he looked like as a young man. Basically, his own self-insert OC in a fanfiction. Majin 21 is Vomi's self-insert OC...and by the laws of fanfiction, THEY MUST KISS!

I still can't believe "Don't you lecture me with your $30 haircut!" was actually from the original dub, which is a line that's really fitting for DBZA.
I had the same thing when I rewatched DBZ and saw Piccolo hyping himself and the Cat Loves Food song were from the actual show.
The entire dub of this movie made it really easy for them to abridge it.
Due to inflation it would be closer to $60-$90 if this joke was written today

That "Not anymore..." makes me weep. Not only has he been implied to drink to the point of numbing the pain is just irrelavent, he knew that golden haired transformation was going to be the end of him, and he knew that was his last chance to feel that comforting hollowness that he'd long since forgotten in a sauce of his own making.
Hey, so 15 got his head chopped off at the end and was still talking (with relative ease) up until Vegeta blew him up good. You think he could pour alcohol down his neckhole for a more direct result, or would the head just not feel it?
@@JacksonJinn what an excellent question: you see, 15 would have had to boof it while pouring it down his neck hole in tandem with letting some pour into his mouth. Assuming Vegeta is helping fulfill this Mandroid's dying wish as a man who lived entirely on copium, 15 would need 14's hidden stash of gin, Roshi's brownies and a literal gallon of LSD to pull off even half of what it takes to completely blitz him.

It's easy to write that off but that's got some daaaaark undertones, if you know them.
I think the joke is more that now he’s been turned into an *_android_* the alcohol doesn’t actually do anything anymore. He just continues to drink out of habit, but he doesn’t ever feel the effects or get intoxicated. And I think this is Android in the actual terms, like 16, and not cyborgs like 17 or 18, so as a man shaped robot, he is incapable of getting drunk.
Tl;dr, the real joke is he’s a robot and can’t actually get drunk anymore, it’s not that deep folks.

It would explain why Cooler knows Instant Transmission and how he unlocked a fifth form, as well as why Cooler seems to have a lot more control and discipline.
I imagine even if Cooler was born freakishly strong he was still probably leagues behind his father and Frezia when he was born.

Is one of my favorite deliveries in all of TFS history.
Every time I play Dokkan Battle, using that Goku unit, I hear that line during that shot.
It's the *perfect* way to convey convincing fear from him too. It's voiced completely in character, the perfect level of panic. I imagine it's hard to get yourself into both the mindset of a character like Gero, who's always in control, to him absolutely terrified
And Gero basically going insane and devolving into the "KILL SON GOKU! KILL SON GOKU! KILL SON GOKU!" program he implanted into his androids...
Gero suddenly found religion in that moment.
To this day I and many of my friends still quote that. Even though to pretty much anyone else it just sounds like the usual exclamation of “Jesus Christ!” When we say it we all mean it to sound like Dr. Gero and we all interpret it as such.
It’s a very subtle, possibly indeliberate thing but I love Gero derangedly screaming “kill Son Goku” as a nod to 17 saying “try living in stasis for years with your creator yelling kill Son Goku over and over inside your head”, as well as inside 16’s mind. Gero’s natural state.

Cooler being Canon and him and Frieza fusing to fight Gogeta is something I've desperately wanted since Super Broly

13 and Goku's exchange of asking how Gero had so much trouble killing Goku and Goku simply responding that he's stubborn is possibly my favorite exchange in all the movies, both because it's hilariously honest, and makes for such a usable quote.
I love how, after watching a bunch of these commentaries, these three don’t come off as “pretentious directors”. But every time I’m watching the commentaries these guys are quoting every quote that I am quoting. And that’s because they are actually the biggest fans of their own series. And that’s awesome! Every time they talk and discuss, it reminds me of conversations with others about the series I used to have in the past. This is awesome!
yeah lol, I had the same thought of "oh they're their own biggest fans." and you'd think that *that* would be pretentious, but they're so good natured about it.
One of the reasons they dodge that pretentiousness is definitely the obvious respect for the original content.
They'll point out flaws but will always praise the anime and manga at every possibility, they never claim their work is overall better or a replacement.
They're true artists in that, in addition to being insanely talented, they're doing this bc they love what they do.

The sound card line for android 14 is a picture from the book “I Have No Mouth but I Must Scream” an apocalyptic story of 4 prisoners on an Earth controlled by a psychotic AI
Also, a brilliant point-and-click adventure game based on the original story, adapted by the author himself.
The only thing I really remember from the original dub was Trunks calling 13 a "Red Ribbon redneck", and how it cracked me up.

As a side I kinda love that in the AOT abridge Jaen was portrayed as a rich elite when he’s from Trost which would basically be like a blue collar city comparable to Chicago.
Cooler as a concept is pretty awesome. You have this space emperor who sees himself as the ruler of everything and everyone, but it turns out he's actually gotta share power with his older brother and his dad is secretly pulling the strings of his two sons. And he's a p*ssy compared to his kids! But they don't seem to have it in them to kill him themselves! That's such a neat dynamic!

Well some confusion was thrown in since Dragon Ball doesn't really have an "America," so technically they wouldn't be Native American.

These guys and Totally Not Mark dropping they’re videos on the same day was truly a gift as well as the after credits scene on TNM DBZ video.

Them alluding to voices here with the announcement at the end of Totally Not Mark’s video makes it even better
So many good lines in this one movie, just as the original Super Android 13 Movie had. Lines like:
1. "Vegeta, he stole your Do!"
"I'll kill him"
2. Ok racist, if you must know, it's because he has a drinking problem"
"Hey, it's only a problem I run out"
"We don't like to talk about it"
3. "Three whole Androids huh? Pretty sure that makes 8. Hmm, never letting the boy live this one down"
4. "Well, if you can't beat em, bomb em"
5. "Do these people even give a damn anymore, I swear they stopped trying after Season 2"
6. "Oh, why did I even bring this?! Wait, why DID I bring this? We were shopping before-"

This movie has some of my all time favourite deliveries from Scott. I know most of it serves to make Trunks look pathetic but it's just so freaking adorable. Especially the, "...but you don't even have a sword..." line.
I love that one of the lines that Android 14 says is the cover to I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream lol, great reference.
"...Did you just throw a motherf*cking dog tr". The sheer level of incredulity in that take makes that one of my most favorite lines in the any of the movies.
Being a native southerner this film was always my fav's of DBZA's catalogue. I donated during the movie marathon years ago cause I just love it that much, and getting to see the breakdown is the cherry on the top.

I think, in a hypothetical Bojack Movie, they will just mention at the beginning that Korin and Yajirobe are in their honeymoon traveling around the world.
I also love that Taka and lani are like the hyper little kids and there’s Scott the calm father figure just dealing with the kids 😂😂😂
I have waited MONTHS for this. At 35:50; this was the PERFECT opportunity to have Adult Gohan say "Goten? Where'd you go-ten?" As a callback. I always heard it in my head as a kid and i have been holding onto this one for YEARS.

Maybe Bulma could set them up with a moonbase Capsule Corp isn't doing much with as a holiday villas where they can wine and dine under the stars and get romantic as the sunrise/set crests the curvature of the Earth.

My favorite line throughout the entire movie will always be Vegeta's fear in his voice saying "Ohh nooo."

The irony of the voice actor of Teen Gohan(someone who becomes a superhero wearing green and most defining powerup trait involving being surrounded by electricity) going on to voice Deku(someone who becomes a superhero wearing green and most defining powerup trait involving being surrounded by electricity) is palpable.

My headcanon for dbza. Since 17 references 13 in the show, I like to think because of that extended interaction between them being so tiring is why 17 and 18 hate country music.

When I first saw this movie, I found 14's final line so intensely profound I just assumed it was a quote lifted directly from some famous philosopher. It goes so goddamn hard, and yet typing the phrase into google with quote marks brings up _nothing_ but results directly related to... This movie. Which is astounding, easily my favorite bit of writing in it by far.
I can not believe the cracked eggs were in the original film. That's incredible.
