About 55:30, I think she did miss having a family and friends, remember all the times she went back to her village to see her parents and estelle. Also having a romantic releationship with a person you just met (from the other person viewpoint) is so much easier than creating a friendship, all you need is lust instead of trust, love and making experiences together(as to becoming friends) , I don't know if I'm making sense but in my mind she couldn't make friends so why bother trying
I just finished the book this morning and really loved it!! I didn't "connect " with Addie but I did feel for her situation. I wanted her to have peace. When she met Henry I was happy for her. I really connected with Henry on September 4 2013. It was like a window into my life growing up. No offense Ingrid but you need a bit more empathy.
My problem with this book is that almost all character development is through romantic relations... And it could have done so much with the concept that it really let me down
Completely understand. I almost think I’d have preferred there to be no romance (or if that element was more reserved for minor subplots, if that makes sense)
I almost stopped reading it in the beginning coz can you imagine being 300 years old woman who can live forever and be wherever she wants to be and instead you r being obsessed with a random musician 😒
@Klim73 What random musician? Henry was a book seller. Plus I think you missed the point. She couldn't become anything because nobody remembered her, she could not keep anything to build on. It would disappear.
I read this book pretty fast for me because the flow of her writing was so easy to read.

Ingrid was my spirit animal in this one 🤣I couldn't stand Addie as a character, and I thought Henry was about as interesting as a spoon.
