    Terrific interview. Michael is a bit like my parents who moved to Tangier with a little money, hoping to set up a business in 1961, which at that time wasn’t possible without a Moroccan partner. We lived there through the sixties. It was a spectacular place to spend our teenage years.
    The progress I have watched the country make since M6 became king, is breathtaking. There are still huge problems, of course, but there are everywhere, and at least huge efforts on a massive scale are being made.

    Absolutely excellent interview. Maybe Michael can come back and talk more about how one gets and uses their foreign money in Morocco to pay for everything, whether rent, gas bill, etc. Do you have to be a resident to have a bank account, and if not you rely on ATMs? How do you acquire residency, and how do retired individuals and couples run their lives? Does the lady who helps Michael also do the shopping? How does Michael and family get things from overseas by mail? Aren't the summers very hot? What do Michael and family do then? What are the options for health insurance especially over 65?

    Al-Maghrib in Arabic means the West in relation to Mecca

    • @MariaNI-yf1bz
      @MariaNI-yf1bz Рік тому

      No. it means the west, where the sun completely set beneath the horizon, derived from the root ghuroob, meaning "to set" or "to be hidden". So it has nothing to do with Mecca or whatsover.

    • @moroccomc2670

      Hahahahaha. The West in Arabic means Morocco and everyone knows this, and Morocco is called Al-Aqsa, meaning Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, knowing that Morocco used to have other names, but Morocco is the West in relation to Mecca and this is in the old books and academic curricula and even the Arabic language is very clear here, even Mauritania means the same thing.
      The name Morocco in English is derived from Marrakech but it is the same
      Anyway, there are several mistakes in this video, such as the issue that the oldest are the Jews. This made me laugh

      Maghreb It means West in Arabic...like Japan, which means East in Japanese Mecca has nothing to do with me... Japan means sunrise in Japanese... Maghreb It means sunset in Arabic... If you look at a map, you will find that Japan is at the farthest east of the world... and Morocco is at the farthest west of the world... and this, of course, before the discovery of the American continent, Morocco was considered the farthest west of the world, and the Atlantic Ocean was called the Sea of Darkness at that time. = As for Mauritania, it is the name of Morocco before its birth... Morocco was called the Kingdom of Mauritania during the reign of its kings Baka, Mustanus, Bakhos 1 and Bakhos 2... It was the capital of the Mauritanian kingdom, Volubilis... This kingdom ended in the year 44 AD... After 44 AD, Morocco became a Roman province called (Mauritanian Province of Tangiers), with its center in Tangier..... ........ ... Mauritania is the ancient name of Morocco .... In the 20th century, France revived this name and gave it to the French colony of Chinguetti in 1953 during the reign of General Xavier... It became called the French colony of Mauritania.

      في فترة بداية الاسلام المنطقة كانت كتسمى إفريقية اشمن موريتانيا الله يهديك راه 600 عام ورومان حاكمين منطقة، راه موريتانيا طنجية كانت قبل الاسلام وحتى هاد الاسم سماتها فرنسا على موريتانيين حيت "سمعت انه هاد موريتانيين حكمو تماك والله اعلم" ... المغرب تسمات على حساب نسبة لمكة مكرمة في داك الوقت المغرب كايعني تونس والجزائر والمغرب والمغرب الاقصى هو المغرب والمغرب كانت مسيطرة واصلا المغرب كانت شادة هاد الدول
      اما موروكو بالترجمة الانجليزية راه كتعني مراكش بالعربية ومزال باكستا وكزاخستان وايران وبعض دول كيسميو المغرب بهاد الاسم "مراكش" واصلا غتلقاها مكتوبة بالعربية شوف غير موروكو غتلقاها قريبة من كلمة مراكش
      كيكولو ان تسمية موروكو لي في امريكا هي ترجمة لخرائط كندا وفرنسا وكاوو اسماء مدن عربية واسلامية هدا دليل على ان المغرب وصلو لتماك اصلا كاين مسجد في البرازيل مسجد مغربي وفيه الخط اامغربي بالقران وبوررش في البرازيل لي منعا المساجد وهاد المسجد تحول لكنيسة وتبنى في 1600 وكيكولو ان تاشفين خضع لسيطرتو هاد المنطقة والله اعلم لكن المسجد حاضر واصلا برازيل معتارفة بان هذا مسجد مغربي

    I lived in Kenitra for a few years while writing technical procedures in Nigeria. I would spend 28 in Morocco and 28 days in Nigeria. After 2 years of that, I moved back to Las Vegas, NV. Now that I am 59 and single once again, I am thinking about moving back. The costs are low enough that you can live well enough on retirement. What do you know about the costs of moving furniture to Morocco?

    Any western especially from North America who is for the first time in Morocco should start his journey in Rabat ! As a hub can visit the whole north or casablanca or agadir … casablanca … but unfortunately with massive subsahara immigrants and globalist policies the country has become dangerous… but real Moroccans especially educated middle class are perfectly normal… most of the money is in casablanca ( but dangerous ) and the ultra rich are in rabat .
