Both can sound great, or bad. The magnet type does not determine the quality of sound reproduction... in most cases, the neodymium type can be made more efficient with similarly sized magnet, so it has larger SPL for the same power. Not neccessary better or worse sound quality.
2.5k will be do fine 3.5k is only gonna be a lil louder tbh your sub should take it fine but with 2.5k u can have better piece of mind bumping for longer periods
So I'm looking to do a full build in my Focus ST. I'm not going with a crazy sub this time, just maybe a single 12. But what I'm wanting to do is find basically audiophile grade speakers that I can do a crazy surround sound setup with. I'd prefer not to run 300 watts per speaker, anyone have any suggestions?
I live in the deepest part of Africa and have honestly never seen neodymium speakers before, so please excuse me if I ask stupid question. I was just wondering is the coils in the 2 different magnet speakers the same or does the neo have to be more robust because of the strength of the permanent magnet? Then I was just wondering about the actual performance, do they perform any better sound any different, if you had to compare them to a ferrite speaker of similar quality/performance range. I can imagine that the neo speaker would have a much wider hz range because the neo magnets is stronger and more responsive and accurate? Is neo speakers more for auto or do you get them in room speakers as well
So if you buy a pair of these and I already have 150 rms soft dome tweeters that tie into the door speaker can these play the same range as a coaxial 6.5?
Whats Going on JP, great stuff man… if you get the chance to see this and reply or even make an informative video I’d highly appreciate it and I’m sure a lot more people would too. Im currently in Central Florida about to visit Ivan and your Tahoe and custom empire and I have a great question… I currently have two sets of AP-W81A | 8” going into my truck and want to know what sounds louder and better, either the AP-W81A | 8” or the new updated AP-M67AN | 6.5" neos. Thanks in advance brother, once again appreciate the advice and your material on your channel.
yeah the neo sub will be lighter but cant really abuse it cuz once it get hot near its curie point it neo loses its magnetic power then you have to get it re magnetized
They both play the same volume. The difference in the cone size comes into play with playing low frequencies below 28hz 12s can't play lower then 24hz without bottoming out, but a 15 will slap down to 15hz
If all factors are equal 15s are louder because cone area is king also proper box tuning and any sub 6-18 can play any sub subsonic frequency it depends on the amp and the enclosure tuning just think about it a Bose systems it crushes low because of the design of the enclosure if a sub is bottoming out 2 things your playing way below tuning of your enclosure , also too much power and if the sub is out of phase good luck
@@bigkato3134 then how come you can bottom out a Sundown X on rms power? Man your only explaining it from an abusive standpoint. And Bose is pure overpriced 🗑

Why do you repeat in several occasion the RMS power of the speakers in context of magnet type? There is literally zero (0) link between two. The specified RMS power is the measure of the thermal handling capacity of the voice coil, before it become too hot and melts down. It has nothing with the magnet itself, which strength dictates the speaker efficiency; the more specific, how efficient the driver is in converting the electrical power into voice coil movement. And that has nothing with RMS power of the driver.

Which sounds better between ferrite & neo speakers ?

From what i read, neo speakers sound better due to the strength of the neo giving better and accurate voicecoil and cone control.@@sunnytimoglobal
