Hey JP, just wanted to say thank you for all the cool videos. I’m an old dude, but very young into the car audio stuff. I appreciate you putting out videos showing me what’s available so I can navigate my way through all the stuff. Take care and keep up the good work.
It's a good idea to high-pass midbass drivers one octave past the Fs of the speaker, especially if you like to play your music loud. *If Fs is 70Hz, crossover point oughta be 140 (HP).
I have an 8th gen civic & didn't want to cut up my door panels, or give up my door pockets, So I fiberglassed an 8" sub in the passenger foot well, under the dash. Got.45 cubes sealed. floor heat still blows, & I have killer mid bass and a little sub bass up front. Also have a 12 glassed into the trunk 1.4 cubes NET sealed, for sub bass.
I’ve got 8 el cheapo 6 1/2” woofers in infinite baffle all running off of a JP8 at a single 2 ohm load(they are dual 8 ohm). They give GREAT midbass and decent bass output. For an el cheapo setup, it is decent and takes up ZERO trunk space. But I do miss the sub 30hz bass head frequencies!!
Mid-bass is what's lacking in my system. Gotta figure a way to get one of them in my car. Not much room tho. I have 6.5 Rockford components front & rear plus an 18" sub in the back of my foxbody.
Love your content and your company JP! I have a 2014 Sierra with 2 CT sounds strato d1 18s in a bed cut and I need a good 4 channel amp what would you recommend. My highs are infinity kappa and Kenwood excelon and my doors are infinity kappa 6x9s I need something to push those plus 2 more tweets
Is there a way to specifically lock in a range of a mid range speaker . Like if I have a dsp , can that work to let me separate the range of super tweets all the way down to low mid range. Basically want to be able to keep each door speaker in its specific range.
I never understood the jp hate this man is the truth his amps is killing the game my next set up is gonna be Arnold all the way around with 2 American bass hd 12 on a jp 45
I have 2 grs 8pt8s that have satisfied me as a midbass driver. They're freq response is like 60-300 or something like that so very dedicated midbass, but I love em. You definitely need proper mids too but for $20 each Im very satisfied
@@michaelfessenden8601 yes definitely, I've got them in my front doors right now and you can feel them moving air if you put your hand down by them. I do also have a 12" sub ported at 30hz for the real low end tho
So what’s you thoughts of a good setup I have JP23 1.5 - with SA 12 classic, JP234 with 4 6.5 d4s v2 , JP34AB 4 Skar tweeters, and two 4x6 Skar ( to fill factory hole) and 2 sundown tweeters. Do i need to add a 454 and 4x 8 mid base 😂😂 And when will the 320 mat be back in stock
I have a 12 mtx 9500 just 1 single 4ohm what amp can I use from sundown that won’t break the bank but I can get 2000 rms out of in a 4ohm load any help thanns
Midbass is very hard to getin a car. People pack too many woofers into a door, it limits compliance issues and then the speaker doesn't have enough air space to even be able to provide midbass. Remember, a home audio speaker, even a 6.5 inch woofer gets massive enclosure space. If possible, port your enclosures for midbass and make the enclosures as large as possible and make the port short to tune it above 80hz or higher. Even hole will do it without even adding any depth to the port. Sadly midbass is so hard to get in a car and you have to sacrifice amount of woofers due to space limitations. Higher fs is ideal which is why packs of smaller woofers work better. Even 5.25 inch rules. Better to put 3 of those than one 12 for midbass.
The pioneer pro midbass are the best midbass ever made they play the widest range and handle a ton of power all the rest are basically midrange speakers claiming to be midbass
This should be titled how to achieve the best mid bass in an bass demo ride. Nobody in the SQ world is going to be running this type of stuff. But I get it. That is not what this channel is geared towards.
#1 rule for good midbass: Don't put them in your doors! And he didn't even mention DSP correction, while emphasizing all the irrelevant information that an uninformed person would pay most attention to. And he has his own line of amplifiers?
🔴 Me thinking I would see 6.5" or 6.75" door speakers, welp back to the drawing board. Good stuff tho👍🏾for sure✌🏾💯
Yeah, just put a 15 in your stock door locations and be done!
They make a 6.5 to this caliber for good mid bass
For real 😂😂 I’m just looking for it to slap a little. I guess I’m just another little nobody 😂

If you put a lot of speakers in your doors, I recommend to literally bolt the door panels to the door and not use the factory pop on clips
Ive made that mistake, lets just say the car behind got a little bump 🤧
@@fatchungusboy7839 huh?? Elaborate please...
Yup got 3 10s in mine had to bolt them down
Not to mention all the added weight on the door hinges lol
Omg J.P you’re alive!!!!! Happy new year brother!
Appreciate everything! Shop D4S forever

I'm gonna have to rethink my build. How to wall off my front doors and enter from the rear doors so I can do 15" midranges in the front doors!
Lol that's awesome bro please do it and make a video dude
Which ones can you feel in the 65 to 85 range?
time to step up my mid bass game in my new build!! thanks jp!

J.P, dual pair of 6.5 VEX, 300 watts rms with the 450 x 4 amp combo,, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The studio One headphones are the best I've never had a pair of headphones like them I use them every single day at work!!
its impressive how successful he is while lacking actual knowledge of the of the specs of the products he sells.
EXELLENT EXPLANATION COULD NOT HAVE SAID BETTER MY SELF. YOU SAID EXACTLY WHAT IVE TOLD PEOPLE TO TRY
can it be same as skar evl 6.5 to use it with jp10.4 and i wonder can i use with out bass knob ?
the design of the 12", just makes me feel pa-speakers, and just by looks, its loud! anyone have a vid of it playing?
And what kind of box would that need they do sound amazing

Remember, JP basically said you're a piece of sh.. unless your doors are packed full of speakers
6.5's will never bridge the gap to an 18. Try adding an up front 8in sub but only if you have a dsp.

Suggest 600watt rms in 15 inch
Mid-bass speaker for PA live shows

How do you feel about the LCMRs for midbass?
What do you think about replacing the stock 6.5 speakers in the rear panel of a 2006 Honda Odyssey with a 6.5 sub in the stock location?
Are these DPW available in 10”?

@@michaelfessenden8601i run 35hz higher than 60hz on my eq i feel like you should get a speaker with lower response if its already 15 in

Would those 6.5 be better in the back dash using the trunk as enclosure or that too much air space
What’s the difference between the d4s 65 v2 and the uscmr 6.5 ?? which is better

Legit stuff for sure. Hopefully 23 brings me opportunities to finish my build 🙏
What’s the name of that 12
nice subject
I like it 👍
What do you think is the best mid-based speaker to use in a motorcycle 😎

Be driving around in a speaker with alternators and engine.
even a 50 watt midbass speaker can damage your ears, so what are people doing with 1000W mid bass drivers?
The pioneer pro midbass are the best midbass ever made they play the widest range and handle a ton of power all the rest are basically midrange speakers claiming to be midbass
I told dad that we need louder doors lol
I'd label these midrange rather than midbass
You know they must be insane if you call them crazy
I'd safely say midbass starts somewhere around 50hz or so.
Be proud make it loud
When I think of a nice mid bass speaker I think of SQ.Never anything pro sound.
We’re the neo midbass that don’t have so much back lol
JP kno he wrong, why Is the machete Lw65a4 and lw80a4 not on here. I even have the carset machete 6x9... I guess it's up to me

Thumbs down for not answering people's questions
I'm going all machete. Got a cart full on the website and saving up now 😆👍
got the machete 8" mids, they play very good for the money, loud, clear sounding
the alphard arnold?? lol

Why not the doors? Even if u make a custom panel?? So you need a dsp to make it sound better not just using a amp?
Fs 83 and it will play its best at 70Hz, yeah xD
He whispers lol
Shii not so loud JP
