These vids are the equivalent of Colonel Sanders coming back to life and giving Bojangles his original chicken recipe. Even though we are all technically competing against one another, these elites still give us amateurs their recipes to success. Preciate it!
***** lol it's good. Internet money could be sitting high and counting their money everyday, but instead they chose to come help us out and give us the information we need to create our own unique recipes. KFC could give you a piece of chicken and tell you to figure out the recipe yourself. IM could give us "Type Beats" and tell us to figure out sound design by ourselves. But they don't and that's what makes them special.
Bizarro Wxrld Obxma Sound selection is 100% about your own ear for music. Since I don't know what kind of overall sound you're going for, I can only break it down like this. The basis of every song are the highs, the mids, and the lows. Start off by focusing on one of those areas in your production. Since you're a producer, you're most likely going to know when the first stage is complete. The rest of the beat is simply going to be filler sounds for whatever part you laid down first. For instance, if you lay down a groovy baseline like the ones found a Rick Ross beat, you should probably follow it up with the mids. The mids would consist of the chords that follow the baseline or vise versa. But if it was a 21 Savage type beat and you started with the lows, you would most likely play the high melody next. Each song requires a different approach. For Zaytoven, the highs and lows are more important than the mids. For LondonOnTheTrack, the mids and lows are most important. For Dr. Dre, the highs and mids are most important. Once you start to understand the meat and potatoes of your style, finding the right sounds will be easy.
Bruh I can't believe it's actually that easy. You demonstrated it so simply, this is a really great tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge :)
The reason he does the pitch envelope like that because it mimics a drum hit w/ the pitch going from high to low quickly in case any body didn't know or was wondering.
You all prolly dont care but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Rayden Luciano I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
thanks for another tutorial yall. I had a question, is there a benefit to recording your 808 sound as an audio sample instead of keeping it in the synth to work with? Besides freeing up cpu space?
You could automate you 808 or if you decide you like the general sound of it but want to tweak it then you could just go in real quick and change something.
Why not just play the 808 from within the synth? Instead of having it pitch the sample you made up/down when you play? You can only pitch samples so far before they start sounding bad. But i guess that wouldn’t really be a huge problem for something like an 808 with a low pitch range.
can yall make a video on how to make your entire mix a more deep wider sound. if you go on my channel and listen to one of my beats i feel like mine are missing the wideness sound to it. its hard for me to explain as i dont know all the terminologies
its an efficiency thing. instead of recording into the playlist and then opening the sample in Edison you can record it straight to Edison, make whatever adjustments/de-noise/trimming/whatever you need to do and then just load that as a channel and its ready to go.
When creating a drum kit based on another producer with unique 808's do you just recreate it by ear? Or do you have an idea of what the wave form would look like?
