I have been getting back into this for the past two weeks and im starting to understand what you guys mean by if you understand a little bit of music theory thats all you need, and it really is, but if you want my advice from learning so far videos like this and music theory videos in general have made it WAY easier to watch and absorb the information from all of the other producer videos and follow along
would most definitely appreciate a part 2 brother! always a pleasure to get insight into other producers workflows & techniques. i would like to share 3 little tips for melodies that i've been using lately. (tip #1) doubling the bass or root, into an upper voice, then altering its rhythm, dynamic, adding passing notes, etc. this works because whatever the bass note or root of the chord is, they are the most stable notes in the scale. (tip #2) orchestration; create a chord or progression, then split the different parts into different instruments & across different octave/pitch ranges. this will allow the same chord to be heard, but across different instruments & you can solo/mute different ones whenever you need (tip #3) using the same melody motif or pattern, over different chord changes. this works by creating contrast, as the notes of the melody will function one way over the first chord & function differently over another chord. this creates various amounts of tension & color, while providing familiarity. I’ve been watching, learning and studying sound design and music from Internet money and rio,Paryo and nick for a few months. Thank you guys for your knowledge and time
Spot on! The only thing I would say is that the D resolves to G, as a V-I motion so it kinda workds regardless the distance, but it doesn't matter. lol
Ah, yes, I must say that I find Rio's pedagogical acumen to be quite impressive. His prowess as a producer is matched only by his ability to impart knowledge and wisdom upon his pupils. One might say that he is the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the music production world - a sage mentor guiding his proteges to greatness. It is truly a delight to witness such an esteemed figure in action. Kudos to you, Rio, for being both a masterful producer and a brilliant educator. 🤓🤓🤓 💯💯💯 #danjelxgaldur2023

Good tutorial, I've been making beats seriously since 2020 and I'm not a noob anymore but I definitely remember those times lol a good analogy that I think of is like on the Hunter x Hunter anime to be the most powerful nen user you have to stick within your personal nen affinity and develop a power that suite your personality and fall on it a way that you uniquely understand it and the more beats you cook up (no matter how trash they are) the better you'll become so if you're not that good rn you should be cooking up at least 3-10 beats a day and analysis them seeing what can be better and actively making the next set of beats better you'll be ight trust me
thanks for watching guys
You keep saying note.. but it's half-notes! ;)

rio is my biggest inspiration. even tho im still shit at producing hes the light that always gives me hope
I remeber everyone was clowning busywork beats for his chord codes but I see rio teaching us the same
Yee😂 next video about same shit and introduction into confusion this kids with „passing tones” which they are not
Yeah this a good tutorial otherwise but that chord code shit is ass, might as well learn music theory as the quality of chords matter a good deal imo
Best tutorial I’ve ever seen for Melodies. Well done 👍
bro really don't even have to do this. we appreciate you Rio
