plot twist, Nelson forgot his chess friend's email and his friend is now sad that Nelson didnt remember him

The other option is that someone you know personally found a chess puzzle and decided to mess with you when sending it to you.
my first thought too, typical ending for "hacker" stories that dont harm the person lol
Occams razor would say this is just him creating a new story line to introduce puzzles, like he did with Peter Patzer and his fishing buddies. This is just him making up getting an email from an anonymous source to add mystery and drama to the story line.
@@fomori2I think that’s a little crazy
It's a fiction.
@@magicmeatball4013 "I think that’s a little crazy"--
Are you new to the internet and social media ?!?!
I ask that because people make things up ALL THE TIME for clicks and views.
Damn son, chess content creators are really into the intimidating stuff. First Gothamchess getting kidnapped, now Nelson was hacked. I'm not gonna be surprised even if Hikaru will get robbed😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kidnapped??
@@cyrilokoduwa1030 It's a common meme of GothamChess getting kidnapped, considering how often he records in different places.
Listen punk, gimme the cash and noone gets hurt.
Also, here's a cool chess puzzle.
Hi Nelson. It is also an option that one of your friends who has your email was hacked. Be carefull, don't respond to messages from unknown people and don't download/follow any links. Even if someone is trying to be like "hey its me, remember we were..." you should double check if the person you are talking to is who he/she claims to be. be aware that your friend's mail could be hacked and before anyone notices, all of his friends including you are indangared. play smart stay sharp ;)
one should be carefull if a person or even a friend is sending something with a comment that is adressed to awaken emotions for triggering a reaction (like following a link to something very urgent, responding now or never etc.)
It's... also probably just simple social engineering like most "hacking" is nowadays
It reminds me some of the Soviet studies we were trying to solve in a chess school. These were the most difficult and counterintuitive checkmates in 1, 2 ,3,4 I've ever seen. The first move is the only move and then regardless of what black does, you'll always have a forced checkmate.
I was agonisingly ONE square away from the correct move😂
Although I thought of a completely different idea - Rg5+, to deflect the queen away from the c6 square so that Nc6# is checkmate.. But bishop can take the rook
Very unique position, there is still so so so much left to explore in chess, in terms of composing puzzles, this takes the cake!
I had the same thought, but that STUPID BISHOP lol
Me too. I thought if I don't give a check, the opponent would check me and it would have been mate in 3 or something
@@adventureboy444 yes and if you are checked of course you'll never get mate in 2 anyway, unless you play Rg4 which gives checkmate immediately after a check on you
I saw this move also, but couldnt quite figure the solution out! I was attempting to mate on the other side of the king haha
imagine a hacker knows your personal email and just sends you a normal puzzle for you to solve
This hacker is crazy or something?
Even if this was in good intent......you shouldn't have opened it.....even a picture can have things embedded. I can make a Linux server in literally 10 minutes with something attached to this that can take control of your web browser etc. Do me a favor and don't put yourself at risk like that even if it intrigues you. Don't open anything that isn't from a trusted person.
if only black hadn't promoted six of their pawns to knights
I had to rewind few times to understand what actually happened because at first I thought that the hacker logged INTO your e-mail and send from there. And if that's not the case I just think that someone of your friends who knows it have pranked you.
If you want you can share his e-mail so we can all spam him on a daily basis with "Challenge accepted" memes :D
I thought I had it with bishop takes C8 because it eliminates the only piece defending B7 where the knight on D8 could deliver the checkmate, and the only piece which could move to defend the square is the queen, and that if she moves to to the seventh rank, then there's knight to C6, but there is one square the queen could move to to defend both threats: B6.
I unpaused the video too soon and I was looking for this comment as to why Bxc8 didn’t work. I wish it was addressed in the video since it seems like the 2nd best option.
Interestingly, agadmator covered this puzzle last week as well.
Is adadmator the hacker then? Hmmm ...
Idk who that is, but if he’s another chess youtuber, it’d explain why he’d have his personal email
I got the right move at first, looking for a way to either take a knight and immediately move away, or move a rook into position to take a knight with checkmate, but dismissed it due to the bishop taking. Missed that it was overloaded defending double checkmate threats :)
I worked this puzzle for a while before finding this first move, and I still wasn't sure it was right. I just had an intuition about it. But mostly because I didn't even notice the Bishop could take the Rook. 😅
I looked at it for a while, and while I didn’t find the solution, I probably would’ve gone Bf4. That forces the queen off the rank, allowing the Nc6 checkmate. Not fool-proof, but fun.
Bg5 blocks, or Qf6 moves out of danger.
"So how exactly did this person get my personal email?"
*waits 5 seconds*
"Well if you had a chance to look at that, ..."
This would've been a great comedic timing.
Ah, I looked at Rg4, but thought that black can just delay by giving a check himself and only when I watched the solution I realized, that white can defend both checks while also checkmating at the same time.
I ACTUALLY SOLVED IT! It took me like 20 minutes analyzing and like 5 minutes in I realised black has no checks and it took me 15 MINUTES of discarding other moves until I found Rg4 and I was so happy when I found it
I was thinking the Rb7 was correct move
But then I realise the after Kc7 and Bc7 Queen can block the checkmate and it will be mate in 3-4 somewhere
Delete or personal email account and open a new one. Send to friends only that you trust and never open an unknown email. It could have malware attached
1. Nb2 and black has no defense to both a4 and c4. Plus all checks by black is complemented by a checkmate.
Man my brain is really fucked; that I didnt see that Nc4 is not checkmate.
The solution i think about is Nb2
Took me several minutes why it doesn't work
Black can actually defend by N2c3, i was thinking i can just go by Qc5#, but then i realized knight on a4 is no longer pinned 😅
Is there any reason why Nb2 does not work? It sets up checkmate with Nc4 or Qxa4, If Qf4 then Nc6 is mate, if a check is given on b7 or c6 then the night takes with mate. How does black defend after Nb2?
I also found that move 😄
Nc3. Nc4 is not a checkmate because it blocks the f1 bishop, thus enabling Kb5 for black
Nb2 followed by Nc4 is no checkmate because you block your bishop on f1 from controlling b5. And Qxa4 is defended by knight and rook with N2c3 because there is nothing supporting any other check.
Ah yeah I missed that
Clé Cheval b2. Than check mate with Queen or cheval or cheval b2 to c4
Not only is Rg4 the only move that mates it 2, it's also the only move that delivers a forced mate in under 5 moves.
Is the puzzle just broken? If Rg4 then Bb7+ and no move is checkmate because white must defend the king. The only move that checks the black king and doesn't just give up a piece to the bishop is NxB but that isn't a checkmate because Kb6.
White knight on a8 guards b6.
I saw Rg4 not two seconds before he said it. Finding a quiet move was not what I expected in that position.
We've just seen this puzzle on Agadmator's Channel btw.

If this guy is hacker, and if he’s good, he has now succeeded. Never open an email that you don’t know origin of.
I hate it when stuff like this happens. Pretty sure somthing simmilar happening to me.
So if someone can say the way someone can know your email if it is not public
It's just a setup so next time Nelson can plug one of those services which promise to get your personal details removed from the internet.
It sounds like this hacker was just having some fun, at least for now, but make sure to update your security and change your password.
So weird, I had this position in a game yesterday...
I agree, a pretty common and boring position...
I think I see another M2. Ne3 threatening Nc4#, no piece can capture the knight or guard the checkmate square without allowing the knight on D8 to checkmate.
2.Nc4 is not a threat because of 2...Kb5.
This chess puzzle appeared on agadmator's Chess Channel, so who ever sent you this puzzle probably knew you.
How, of all chess videos, was this not sponsored by nord VPN?
a hacker sending an email over a friend gets more clicks
The video image features 'A' from Pretty Little Liars.
So YOU were A!!!
If he was a true hacker, the puzzle has something attached to it that is infecting your entire device
It’s not checkmate next move after you move the rook because the queen can check the king
Watch 3:34.
Yeah sorry that was me, I REALLY wanted to send it to you without it falling into obscurity, so I sent it to your personal email
Rook b7 looking hella fine... except it probably doesn't work
Stockfish solved it easily.
My idea was Bg6 (either one) to block the queen from the defense of c6, but I guess black has a bishop move to defend c6 again.
but wait... then black would give up defense of b7. So the only answer to Bg6 for black may be Qxg6.
Found it :) The theory of puzzle-solving is seeping into my brain.
My ideas was Rb7. If Bxb7, then Nxb7 is checkmate. If Qc6+, then Nxc6 is checkmate. O
For other moves, we have Rb5 checkmate.
There is of course something I missed.
i found rook G4 but then thought "well bishop b7 check delays it" not realizing that the knight could just take FML i was so close
To find the hacker, look at people/customers that know your personal email, especially one that you have had to block or stop contacting. That is my hunch. Sorry that happened to you
plot twist, it was Bobby Fisherman
agadmator had a video with the same puzzle
This chess board is a dining table
Nelson unwittingly sent an email to Bobby Fisherman who sent him the puzzle! 😅
Very much to my surprise I managed to solve this! I was looking for ways to give a check without using the a7 rook or the queen, because they are pinning Black's knights. The b8 bishop can't get to an undefended square to give check in two moves. All the other bishops are on light squares and most of the knights are too far away so I started looking at the g8 rook. I noticed g4 was defended only by the c8 bishop, which can't move without allowing Nb7#, and then worked through most of the variations you showed. I missed Nb4 but saw all the others. A strange but intriguing puzzle, and thanks for sharing!
You sure you solved it? If Rg4 then Bb7+ and no move is checkmate because white must defend the king. The only move that checks the black king and doesn't just give up a piece to the bishop is NxB but that isn't a checkmate because Kb6.
It took me some time to find the king 😂
This puzzle is hard because it completely breaks my pattern recognition, down is up and up is down, I can't stare at this for too long or I will go crazy!
He tipped your name and classic Gmail
i was looking at that rook kinda suspiciously for a second there
This is why I don't play the London
Hold on. The one time I see the solution is the one time Nelson doesn't? I guess this is like the Asgard and SG-1. the Asgard needed someone dumber to find the solution because they were incapable of thinking in primitive ways...
You left your email on a Post-it.
LOL, shows face and name on channel --> "hacker" personally recognizes him
how do people come up with puzzles like this
What about idea first move knight to b2?
Everyone knows your name, so your personal email can easily be found if it's been used for multiple years.
I'd consider a hierarchical step by step!
Start with family that knows your personal email. Then move up to close friends. Follow up by any relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews). And then think back to when you give your personal email to any of your teachers before this puzzle.
If all of them say no, then consider yourself hacked.
B d7 stops mate in 2
Imagine the "hacker" is your friend trolling you
A click-bait sent me this chess puzzle...
black moves bishop on c8 to b7, checking the king and preventing checkmate on the 2nd move.
I went to check it, because I also thought the checks were not covered in the vid. Both the Bb7+ and Qc6+ have in fact the same problem - you take the checking piece with your knight from d8, delivering the checkmate in the process.
@@Alche_mist thank you, was also wondering about that checks
Black could have ignored Rg4 and go for white's king with something like Bb7, stoping mate in 2
Bb7, like Qc6, is defended by the Knight on d8, which both also attack the king for mate.
This hacker likes Agadmator's channel 😅
Puzzle is nice, but very artificial, far more so than most puzzles.
What about bishop b7 check? Prolongs it over 2 moves
Knight on d8 takes bishop while also delivering checkmate
This could be a surprise puzzle from your wife
How did black end up with all those knights?
Gah! I thought Nb2 worked, but Black has Nb4 with a discovered defense of the a4 knight. It's still mate in 4, though.
Nb2 works, as does Ne3, defending a4 doesn't stop Nc4#
@@Matt700007 Nb2 Nb4 Nc4+ Kb5 since the knight on c4 blocks the bishop on f1
Hi I'm new to chess well kinda I learned to played as a kid but have never read any books or studied strategies now in my 40s I'm getting back into it and am realizing how bad I am what book should I get to start getting better
Why wouldn‘t 1. Nb2 work?
Pls bring chess adventure series back
Plot twist: Nelson has a split personality and his alter ego Nelsi emailed him
I saw all the possibilities, if black moves its pieces, but not the rook move.
Maybe you have a friend in your real live, who also loves chess and tries to confuse you?
very interesting puzzle, & creepy when this puzzle was sent by a hacker!
Question for the people that can read chess states better than me.
Why does Nb2, with the idea of Nc4 next, not work? Where is blacks move to stop this.
doesnt knight b4 block the checkmate?
Fun hacker story
solved in 25 seconds
A hacker sent it? probably shouldnt open it
that hacker has a house in *agadmator twitter* as well
Somebody please help I'm trying to figure out why Ne3 does not work.
Edit: I'm an idiot, it blocks the bishop :/
Apparently chess vides likes silencing comments that show his mistakes. Classy...
This position doesn't seem very natural :(
No, but it's probably legal, in that it's possible to get there with a real game.
EDIT: Actually, it is probably impossible, because with that many promotions, there have to be a certain number of pawn captures.
@@christopherheckman7957 I was kidding kkkk there's not much to the "joke" though
But being serious... yeah, I think the neccesity of pawns eating other pieces makes this impossible
Nelson Michael lopez, your videos helped me so much so I want to thank you
Knight to b2 is also able option here?
Solved it . Am I gonna be next magnus??
Bb7
i mean, im pretty sure its not that hard to find your email, if you know where to look.
All I know is he's messing with the wrong Puerto Rican if indeed he's messing with you but it seems harmless enough maybe just ask how he got the email address.
I found a better move
Rook to g6 blocking the queen
If knight takes then knight to c6# is mate if queen takes we take the queen with bishop and mate on the next move
The second line would be mate in 3, not 2.
@@ceejay0137 but it's mate right and that's all 🙂
@@biswajitnath7890No, the puzzle is specified to be a mate in 2, so that's what you need to find! Thus Rg4 is the only correct first move.
