I too am new to sewing. I initially wanted to make scrub caps and masks to wear at work, but I have found it to be very therapeutic and I am ready to try some new projects. Great video thanks sharing...ordering now...lol
Congratulations on your new-found passion. I recently started sewing after not sewn anything in 25 years. I am back to the basics. I look forward to learning with you. I subscribed.
OMG I am so excited I found your channel. I was searching for a video on good places to buy fabric for the exact same reasons you described! I'm apparently a "Sewist" too! I have been doing mixed media art, painting, book making/refurbishing, ect for years. I'm 46 now and bought a sewing machine a few years ago but was too intimidated to try. However with this pandemic I have time on my hands and masks that need to be made for not just my family but health care workers. That became my motivation! I've mastered making masks and feel ready to take the plunge and sew other things! But fabric is EXPENSIVE as you mentioned. Thus how I came to discover your channel! So excited to learn and grow as a Sewist along with you! I'm SO about to go order fabric from this store now!!! Thank you!
You are multi talented! You’re going to do great! Check out fashion fabric club and fabricsusa.com for reasonably priced fabric as well. Good luck on your journey. Let me know what you make next.
Welcome to the sewing community. Sewing has been my stress reliever and therapy. There will be fabric & pattern temptations. Don’t give up on it, if it becomes challenging. U got this.
cheri best thank you. I needed that. I made a dress that was too small and I nearly threw in the towel. Haha! I love sewing. It definitely makes me look at clothing differently now. The thought that I can make something for a fraction of the cost that a finished piece would be in a store is so exciting!
Welcome to the sewing community. Love the Africian prints, the prints will soften over time with repeated wash and wear. If you find your circle skirt too full when you make it.
Hi Sheree, I saw your review on the website and came by to see your box. I am also a new sewist looking for fabric deals. Great fabrics. Recently purchased some African prints from Etsy. Thank you for sharing. I will be following you.

The white and pink meshes I believe are chiffon fabrics, which can be used for skirts and dresses like these. www.lulus.com/images/product/xlarge/3365000_652132.jpg?w=560
I am getting back to sewing after many years so I would say I am a beginner also. I think the stretchy lavender knit fabric might be rayon jersey. I purchased some rayon jersey for a top that draped just like that.
This video was very helpful. Ivv be wanted to order from them but didn’t want to get scammed. They have some bad reviews but I believe your review was very informative
Thank you for stopping by my channel. I have placed several orders with them and I am always pleased with what I receive. I welcome you to also watch some of my other fabric haul videos.😘 Happy sewing! 🧵 🪡
What city are you in? There’s discount fabrics on Ashby and San Pablo in Berkeley. Stone Mountain and Daughters, also in Berkeley, they’re a bit pricey but worth it. There is also Piedmont Fabrics on Piedmont Ave. in Oakland.

Thank you so much for checking out my channel! Happy Sewing!
The pink and white fabrics were power mesh. They would be a decent lining for bathing suits 🩱 and swim suits 👙
Probably an acetate good for lining.

I have lots of fabric haul videos on my channel now. I’m so glad you like this one. Thank you 😊
What fabrics do you use for linings. Thank you for displaying the fabrics opened up.
So far I have only done a couple projects with lining and I used satin and cotton.
I am getting back to sewing after many years so I would say I am a beginner also. I think the stretchy lavender knit fabric might be rayon jersey. I purchased some rayon jersey for a top that draped just like that.
Thank you! I’ve used this fabric since filming this video and it is a very heavy jersey fabric. I love how soft it is.
Great video! Your excitement is inspiring.
Mary Hupf thank you so much for watching! I’ll have a follow up video sharing what I’ve made so far. Come back and check it out.

The royal blue fabric looks like satin/sateen charmeuse.
Fabric shows @ 6:55 🙌
Thank you, wish I'd seen your comment before I watched 7min of intro that wasn't useful.
The pale pink is a power mesh lining. You got a great deal. I’ll have to try this website.
Estelle Yamamoto thank you! How do I use it??? Lol! I’ll google it.
You use it as a lining. It give you a little control in your problem areas, if you have any. Especially in bodycon dresses.
Mimi G has a tutorial for a pencil skirt that she uses power mesh in when she wants it to fit snugly.
Sue K I just watched that video! I’m definitely making that skirt.
The fuchsia fabric is a shantung fabric. The green is a lining fabric. I’m from the Bay Area also, there are many more fabric stores in the area.
Estelle Yamamoto please share! I would love to explore these stores.
