I never thought shang chi's training montage was rushed. Everything they did for that scene makes sense. His training growing up was under his fathers lessons and he mastered that fighting style that his father had to offer. The mothers fighting style which he learned in that scene had to be closely related to his fathers so i thought it would not take a lot of time to learn. They literally walked him through a few adjustments and some lessons that his mother would have taught him and thusly dealing with his childhood trauma to master his mothers fighting style as well. At least thats what i took from those scenes in shang chi.

Also the stopping of Thor's hammer with Odin instead of Hela was a nice mirroring of Thor: Ragnarök happening at the Bifrost was a nice moment. I really enjoyed this episode, I really liked and found the whole episode to be really entertaining and fun. I really liked this episode’s story, I found it to be really interesting and entertaining. I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the score, the cinematography and the animation. It was great to get to learn more and see more about Hela, her background and her goals throughout this episode. Especially with the scene where Odin initially gave Hela her crown and when Hela talked about what she really wanted after conquering the Nine Relms. I loved getting to see Hela interact with the Ten Rings and Ta Lo, it was really fun to get to see how she would try to adapt to these new environments. And these were a combination of characters and places that I never thought we would ever get to see in the MCU. And I absolutely loved the fight between Hela and Wenwu against Odin. This fight was so awesome, getting to see the dynamics of powers between these three as they fought was amazing. And the choreography for the fight was really great, getting to see how each of them would use their powers and abilities to their fullest while using different techniques to try and take out the other was amazing. I loved getting to see their three different styles of fighting clashing. I also loved getting to see more of Wenwu in action, I loved getting to watch his fighting style throughout the Shang-Chi movie so it was really great to get to see even more of it in this episode. And on top of that it was also super cool to actually see Odin in action. In the MCU we never really got to see him in action because he had already long given up his warriors ways, but in this episode he had just now decided to give up that life style so he was still primed for a fight so we actually got to see how Odin would have fought in battle. And it was just so cool, I loved how much of a tank he felt like in this fight and with his combination of broad and brutal yet fast attacks his fighting style was able to feel similar to Thor’s without it feeling like it was just a copy and paste of Thor’s move set. Also after Hela became good, became worthy to have her crown and she dawned the white attire I couldn’t help but be reminded of another Cate Blanchett character that was good and wore white, Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. I just had such a fun time watching this episode I cannot wait to see how the rest of the episodes in this new season will turn out. I cannot wait for tomorrow’s episode! I hope that it is as good if not better than this one and that this season is able to keep up this episode’s style of quality, writing, and storytelling.

Awesome episode. When I heard this was one of the episode concepts (as far back as reports from Comic Con in 2021 I believe) I was intrigued to see what they did with the episode because of my love of mythology and Asian stuff, and it didn't disappoint. Definitely another good episode in an already good season of television.
From looking at the credits, it looks like Cate Blanchett and Idris Elba are the only returning cast members for their roles and everyone else is different for this episode, though I agree Odin does sound somewhat similar to Anthony Hopkins even though it's not actually him.
Also, Hela doesn't just "know Mandarin", Asgardians (and I believe all the gods and mythological figures in Marvel) are able to understand and speak every language as they have something called Allspeak (fitting name for an ability to speak all languages).

This season of what if kinda felt like a highly produced previs. I can see writer and director coming up to marvel with it and telling them so we had this idea. It really feel like the first mcu phase where a movie is a movie on it's own. The current mcu phase is all over the place, most of us, i think, still watch mcu movie to see where it goes but compare to previous movie I don't think I'll watch Quantumania or the marvels on it's own.
I still got the feeling that after endgame some people at marvel try too hard to come up with a story that could rival the infinity arc forgetting that a movie need to be good without the threat in the shadow that an avengers movie will solved later on.
This make me think I would love to see more of marvel on a big screen in a different way. Maybe between the success of the spiderverse and what if we might see an animated movie who doesn't need to be a part of the mcu but it could be cool to see what they could come up with.

Well, Odin is assumably cast out when Hela takes the throne and liberates the Nine Realms so; Thor is potentially still born but he would likely not be a Prince of Asgard AND Mjolnir was destroyed so he wouldn't be the Thor we knew. If Odin is not on the thrown anymore and the Nine Realms are Liberated, the war with the frost giants wouldn't have happened and Loki would not have been adopted - similar to Season One's "What If...? Thor was a single child."
