The costume design of Shakespeare we get to see with Loki, I wonder if Loki was Shakespeare in 1602 and the reference to Othello another play of Shakespeare's a nice touch. This also feels like Shakespeare in love of sorts lol.
I've read the comic, that's partly why I was kind of disappointed with this episode, it didn't adapt the serious tone of the comic but neither couldn't fully embrace the silliness presented in this episode about being a sort of medieval parody of Marvel with Captain Carter being thrown in the middle of everything

Marvel is really doing well with this Season, and this episode is no exception. I've not read 1602, but everything I've seen from Gaiman is excellent, and I'm a fan of the setting for this episode as well. I absolutely love that Loki is my boy William Shakespeare this episode (also, yes Greg, he is doing Hamlet in the beginning and is continuing to talk about the character Iago from Othello throughout the episode, among other Shakespearean references). If it was any of the other characters it wouldn't work nearly as well, but Hiddleston and the character Loki himself is just so Shakespearean to begin with that it fits perfectly. I like Coy am also a fan of what they've done with Peggy's suit this episode, putting her just one step closer to my head canon theory that the endgame for her character is making her a full-fledged Captain Britain. Everyone's roles in this episode are so perfectly cast, as I said before Loki would absolutely be Shakespeare if not a Shakespearean actor, Steve Rogers would absolutely be a Robin Hood like character, and so on. Also, I would love to see live-action versions of these characters, I think Elizabeth Olsen would absolutely rock the Wanda 1602 costume in live-action, and more live-action Captain Carter is always a good thing. Seeing more of this episode in general, as well as the other episodes and characters this season, would be awesome as well. the tease at the end is also cool, I'm curious to see what Strange has been doing this whole season with picking up Kahhori and now talking with Peggy. So much else to talk about I could just keep going on and on like I have a habit of doing, but I won't, so I'll end it here.
I have been really enjoying this season so far, and this episode is the one I was most hyped about. Marvel 1602 , written by Neil Gaiman (not any of the other spin-offs that marvel created, though I like the Secret Wars spin off with Angela), is one of my favorite graphic novels ever made. To say that my expectations were high is an understatement. They were probably too high, but I still really enjoyed the episode. Slights spoilers for the comic, although it is the same spoiler as in this episode, I like how Steve was the forerunner in both, just obviously slightly different versions. I think having it be Steve and have Peggy come back to stop him added great emotional weight. The problem is that the dialogue just cannot match Neil Gaiman. That is probably a me issue though. I still really enjoyed this and would rather have a full 1602 series instead of Marvel Zombies. Another nitpick is I really miss having the X-Men present. The mutant Inquisition ark is one of my favorite bits of the comic, and I really wish it could have been here. Angels monologue is one of my monologues in comics. Probably not my favorite episode of the series, but seriously if you have not read the comic seek it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is phenomenal as is most of Neil Gaimans work!

I just wanna know how did the Antman tech work in 1602 when they don't even know what radiation is? Happy and Hulk having their powers can be down to them being pulled from the future to 1602. Even if Lang was pulled back with an Antman suit, if everyones future memory is wiped how did they reproduce the Pym tech to make the Royal Yellow Jackets?
My two favorite scenes are when Watcher is monologing about how Carter is all alone in a strange world and she's like, "Um, I can hear you." And he's like, "For real?" Cracked me up. 😂 And my other fave scene is when they are all fighting together in the tree house and Carter and Rogers are bouncing the shield between them as they fight the bad guys. Loved it! ❤
Arguably the best episode between the 2 seasons. The story, choreography of fighting and usage of characters felt like nostalgic marvel for me. 10/10 episode
Every time I see or hear the name of this series, I can't help but hear the song What If by Creed. At one point in the song the lyrics are: "what if, what if, what if, what if I" and in this episode at one point Peggy mocks The Watcher by saying "what if, what if, what if" (around 11:38) I'd love to have someone with sound editing skills take The Watcher's voice and dub it into the song whenever the singer says What If, but then have Peggy do the part where it's repeated over and over, lol! Amazing episode, incredible season, thanks for sharing guys! ~Be Blessed
Absolutely loved 1602 episode, this is what I love about What If, changing characters we know and love ….not adding entirely new characters with a paint by numbers feel
Needed to see it the second time to notice Happy turning a little purple when he shouted during their camp siege before the mini destroyer came in... Before Steve said "Bucky, don't make him mad!" A very subtle foreshadowing not many can see the first time.
They dont over stress it, but this is a merged universe; the alt avengers we see in 1602 aren't meant to be here. So Hulk Hogan only exists, and the ant-man tech, because it was ripped into this reality
I'm re-watching Dr. Who, so an episode featuring time travel and rifts opening in the sky starting at the Globe Theatre with Loki playing part in Shakespeare was great
I actually don't have a favorite. This season on What If has been phenomenal. The writers, animators, and whole team of Marvel killed it this season. I have no problem seeing full seasons of either one of the storylines but I do have to say that 1602 was very special. Loved it all and can't wait to see the finale.
This is hilarious bc Tom Hiddleston is a Shakespeare fanboy. He has played Hamlet and been in several Shakespeare productions. Tom IS Loki bc of meeting Kenneth Brannaugh, another Shakespeare fanboy. So Tom being Loki being a bad actor is too funny. Loved the Bucky/Scott Lang banter too. Favorite episode so far

Definitely my favourite episode of What if this season,it felt like watching an Avengers movie again :) Loki and Scott were so funny :)
Arguably the best episode between the 2 seasons. The story, choreography of fighting and usage of characters felt like nostalgic marvel for me. 10/10 episode
All I have to say is WOW ,WOW,WOW,WOW..WOWO..WOW.
Feels like an episode written by an AI which can have 0 haters lol, loved this episode
Better than ultron vs the watcher?
I didn't realize how much I would like old fashioned swashbuckling Avengers! I really like it😂
Jon Favreau's delivery of all those cheesy insults is the most underrated part of this episode
This season has been a great surprise. I enjoyed the first season but season two has had very consistent strong episodes.
~Be Blessed
This episode was so epic and great! Seeing MCU Characters in 1602 was so cool! 👍
loki covering wanda is my roman empire.
Love how they took the fan theory of Steve hitting the time stone
Thor rocking a Wakandan sword while pulsating lightning is an image I didn’t know I needed until I got it. That belongs on a metal rock album cover.
how in the hell is my favorite episode of what if, every episode of what if?!
Did anyone else yell out "Shakespeare in the park! Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"? at the start of this ep?
Absolutely loved 1602 episode, this is what I love about What If, changing characters we know and love ….not adding entirely new characters with a paint by numbers feel
I loved Elizabeth’s voice acting in this
It's crazy there's been like zero marketing for this show
I frakking spit out my drink when Coy screamed “SIMILARLY VEXING” . I don’t know why but that joke landed SO good to me LOL
I wonder what kind of threat they are up against. Did killmonger and Zola escaped?
Yep
Hell the next episode could be a sample Secret Wars.
I don't think it was them. I think something more powerful was done to bring together this new guardians group
Loki: I've misplaced it
The Hammer: Sitting around in Tony's workshop
🤔
Needed to see it the second time to notice Happy turning a little purple when he shouted during their camp siege before the mini destroyer came in... Before Steve said "Bucky, don't make him mad!"
A very subtle foreshadowing not many can see the first time.
I NOTICED THE PURPLE TOO
the medieval version of avengers are awesome!
He's the Da Vinci of our time.... such a great episode and season
An amazing All Star cast. I could watch shows like this all day.
Peg said the same thing when Falcon asked the aged Steve in endgame to tell her about his love... "I don't think I will"
The scene with cap telling how he got there was shocking 😂😂 i also thought he was original cap wtf 😂😂😂
Best animated marvel ever. I was marking out the entire time just like you guys. Felt the emotion in the end. I loved everything
I need a Marvel Special Presentation of Tom Hiddleston doing Othello as a one-man-show.
They dont over stress it, but this is a merged universe; the alt avengers we see in 1602 aren't meant to be here. So Hulk Hogan only exists, and the ant-man tech, because it was ripped into this reality
I'm re-watching Dr. Who, so an episode featuring time travel and rifts opening in the sky starting at the Globe Theatre with Loki playing part in Shakespeare was great
I find it also cool bc in the comics Steve was also the one who didn’t belong in 1602
That was the greatest episode of this season ❤🥰😍😍in love with it.. That was beautiful✨ magical
I actually don't have a favorite. This season on What If has been phenomenal. The writers, animators, and whole team of Marvel killed it this season. I have no problem seeing full seasons of either one of the storylines but I do have to say that 1602 was very special. Loved it all and can't wait to see the finale.
I love how steve is a robing hood. And is teams up with bucky😂😂😂. Its just funny
Soooooo goooood! 💜💜💜
What a great season!
This has definitely proven that they can create other marvel team ups without it being over the top or exhausting!
Also, are there long sleeve versions of some of the Reel Reject shirts?
Nobody talking about banner looking like dr doom when wearing the iron mask?
In my opinion, this season is the only thing animated from Marvel that competes with the DC animated universe. Keep 👏 it 👏 coming 👏
Twist: Tom Hiddleston isn’t playing a variant of Loki in this What If, he’s playing a variant of Matt Damon’s actor character from the Thor movies.
I love we get to see the hulk and the freak fight one another
FINALLY something we agree on about this show! This was definitely the best episode of not just this season but the entire show so far for me.
This last few episodes could have been full fledged blockbuster movies what the heck is disney/marvel doing man 🤯
Idk if anyone caught the “not on my WATCH” line to The Watcher because he doesn’t intervene
