Lars Mikkelsen was already perfect in Rebels, but FINALLY seeing him play Thrawn in live action proves was was born to play Grand Admiral Thrawn! And his “Night Troopers” are beyond awesome. They’re the most intimidating looking army I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. Especially Enoch, he looks like a mix of a Spartan and a gladiator. And Baylan Skoll is proving to be one of the most complex and compelling characters in all of Star Wars. He managed to see not only that the Jedi had fallen even before Order 66 because of how they had become so blinded by their own hubris and hypocrisy, but he sees that the Galaxy can never be governed for long or even properly by either a Republic nor an Empire. So he is looking for a new power that will outlast all of them. It just makes it more tragic that Ray Stevenson didn’t live to see the overwhelming praise he would’ve received. What really surprised me was the Nightsisters being the lynchpin that ties everything together. Now it makes sense how an incredibly ancient map could lead to where Thrawn was currently, because Morgan was told so in her visions by the Great Mothers, who were instructed by Thrawn. And in exchange for aiding Thrawn, he would take them and whatever their cargo is (and I have a bad feeling I might know what it is) back to our Galaxy. DAVE FILONI YOU MAD GENIUS, YOU NEVER FAIL TO ENTERTAIN US!
@@summersoldier1003 well Morgan mentioned the cargo was in the catacombs, and we know from both Clone Wars and Jedi: Fallen Order that the Nightsisters are capable of Necromancy. However they were more like mindless zombies. But since we saw that Marrok was most likely a resurrected inquisitior (which is far more advanced than any necromancy we’ve seen before) I’m what they could do with an army of truly and fully resurrected Nightsisters.
5:34 That symbol on the bottom of the star destroyer is the unique pattern design of the ISD Chimera, the name of the modified Star Destroyer than Thrawn commands. If you see a Star Destroyer with that symbol underneath, you KNOW you've just run into Thrawn.
I don't think that ship is making it back to their home galaxy. It's seen better days, and unless I'm mistaken, the back end of the ship where the the hyperdrive engines are supposed to be, are inconspicuously absent from the ship. It looks like Thrawn had to salvage parts of his ship to be used for repairing the more critical damaged systems. It probably can't even break out of the planet's gravity and into orbit.
@@luminatrixfanfiction No hyperdrive on the star destroyer? I WONDER if thats why they made a giant hyperspace ring big enough to transport a capital ship. Maybe im crazy tho lol
@@luminatrixfanfiction I urge you to go back and watch the scenes again. the thing is massive. If you recall they literally salvaged like 3 or 4 hyperspace thrusters from the old shipping yard several episodes ago. It was clearly made so they could bring the Chimera back, hence why they start loading cargo onto the Chimera in this very episode.
After 30 years, the Heir to the Empire himself has been seen on screen in the flesh. It honestly is so surreal to me as someone who’s read both the HTTE trilogy, as well as Zahn’s canon novels (which are arguably even better than HTTE imo). That was one of the coldest entrances I’ve EVER seen in Star Wars 🔥🔥🔥. Even for those that haven’t watched Rebels or read the novels, I think this episode did a good job at starting to solidify not only why he is feared, but also how different he is from most Star Wars villains
BEST EPISODE EVER. I was squealing so much when Thrawn appeared. Hearing that voice again just.....ooo! And then showing Ezra too? And we still have two episodes? Oh, man....I can't wait for the next one.
I even like how even Thrawn was taken a back towards Sabine's logic "Wait your telling me that you risked another war based off the posablility that your not even sure your friend is alive?" -Thrawn (not exact wording)
Im very pleased with the casting of Eman Esfandi as Ezra aswell. Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo has done a great job as Ahsoka and Sabine, but just from this quick introduction i feel like Eman Esfandi has captured the essence of the animated characters the most. He really felt like Ezra Bridger and im looking forward to seeing more of him.
Sold on Sabine and Ezra. Ashoka character needs work leaving the jury out on that until last episode. Hera is a miscast. I like Amy but she just doesn't feel right as Hera.
Remember, it was Ezra who communicated with the Purgill causing them to capture Thrawn and his ship. Ahsoka and Ezra can talk to the Purgill and do it again.
It's such a tragedy, he seemed like a good dude and he was a phenomenal actor. He has brought so much to the show and there's so much more they could have done with his character
The crazy thing is that the dedication of Thrawn’s crew in the entire fleet was so true, it was questioned if they were loyal to the Empire or to Thrawn.
Especially now since Thrawn has found them a way back home after being gone for years, not to mention that Thrawn has kept most of them alive and well in a completely new galaxy and planet hundreds of light years away.
I love this episode so freaking much. Seeing Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger in live-action made me squeal like no tomorrow. Also, I got emotional with the lovely reunion between Ezra and Sabine.
I knew that Thrawn will be great because Lars is playing him in live action but the actor who plays Ezra is perfectly casted as the older version of the character, seeing him interact with Sabine was just great :)

Mother Talzin from the Clone Wars was soo interesting. I was always curious how someone as powerful as her didn't just out-right destroy both Jedi and the Sith but it would make senses she's only one of the Mother's sent from Peridea

No running into each other's arms...just the surprise, the banter, the hug...(sighs) I cried. I appreciate your reactions.
No idea if you have read the books (which are canon): SPOILER FOR THE BOOKS: In the books Thrawn has worked with Anakin during the clone wars and later worked with Darth Vader, he also knows that Anakin became Vader which might prove interesting when he discovers that Ahsoka was Anakin's apprentice.
Doesnt the village remind you of that episode in the first season of the clone wars where Anakin and Ashoka along with Alaya Skerua, Rex and Cody defend a village with monkey like people from the seperatists
The great mothers weren’t sensing the force in Sabine. They were sensing that she has the ideals of a Jedi. If they were sensing for the force, they would have mentioned Baylen & Shin. When it’s later mentioned that Baylen was a Jedi, they seemed surprised, because he doesn’t give off that do-gooder paladin energy anymore
Maybe all of these major characters getting stuck in that galaxy for the next 10 or whatever years with their own adventures until episode 9 ends, so that we can skip 7-9 and imagine those events never existed.
ezra finds out about Jacen Should be interesting... But yeah there's definitely a bigger threat That we haven't seen yet ,, whoever is the dominant beings/Government whatever you wanna call it in this galaxy
Great reaction just one thing Thrawn isn't pure evil it's explained in the Thrawn books that he only joined the empire in order to gain Palpatine's trust to help his people and he's already met Anakin during The Clone Wars and he knows or suspected that Anakin was Vader judging from his tactics and body language
My theory is that there are only 10 humanoid beings alive on this planet. Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn, Enoch, Morgan, The 3 Night Sisters, Baylon and Shin. All the rest are undead brought back to life by the Night Sisters magick. I think all those cargo containers are the coffins of all the rest of Thrawn's soldiers and the rest of the Dathomir people that are going to be Thrawn's new army when they return. We know that the Dathomir Witches can raise the dead from The Clone Wars. Imagine Thrawn in command of an army of undead witches and zombies. That is some scary stuff man!!!! OOPS I forgot the bandits so I will add 50 to my guess.
Hey, Alyska! Lots of payoffs and lots of foreshadowing in an atmospheric episode. Very cool META REFERENCE by Huyang quoting the franchise's opening lines, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", which is how he opened his folktales to the younglings. PERIDEA's rings are the bones of dead Purrgills! The planet is like an ELEPHANT GRAVEYARD for them. Filoni just RET-CONNED the whole origin of the Nightsisters! The LEGENDS CANON was the order was begun by a rogue Jedi 600 years in the past who set up shop on Dathomir and lured female colonists away from their families. The colonists were expelled and Dathomir became known as a witch-world. The adepts used their power to garner influence and their dangerous reputation ensured their isolation. Some pirates sold them Zabrak slaves with whom they interbred keeping the female children for the order and establishing a Nightbrother settlement for the males. The human-Zabrak hybrids of Dathomir were called Dathomiri-Zabrak like Darth Maul who was Mother Talzin's son. True Zabraks hail from their homeworld of Iridonia. By the time of the Clone Wars, all Nightsisters and Nightbrothers were Dathomiri-Zabrak hybrids. The Nightsisters debuted in the 1985 live-action TV movie "Battle for Endor". The NEW CANON states the Nightsisters originated in this other galaxy and established outposts in the Star Wars galaxy before history was recorded pre-dating the RAKATAN INFINITE EMPIRE! This is a major deviation from established lore! The three elders who greet the pilgrims are three known actresses named after the three FATE SISTERS of Greek mythology! KLOTHOW is played by CLAUDIA BLACK of "Farscape" where she portrayed Aeryn Sun and "Pitch Black" where she portrayed Shazza. She is named after CLOTHO, the Fate who spins the thread of life. LAKESIS is played by JANE EDWINA SEYMOUR of "Star Trek: Picard" where she portrayed the Borg Queen. She is named after LACHESIS, the Fate who measures out the thread of life. AKTROPAW is played by JERYL PRESCOTT of "The Walking Dead" where she portrayed Jacqui and "Ray Donovan" where she portrayed Cherry. She is named after ATROPOS, the Fate who cuts the thread of life! It's disorienting for LEGENDS fans to see LARS MIKKELSEN in the role of Thrawn because he is supposed to be a younger man with strikingly chiseled good looks and sharp cheekbones. However, I was prepped to accept the change by seeing "Rebels" and "The Witcher" where he played the wily mage Stregobor. It's good continuity keeping the voice actor and Mikkelsen did not disappoint. CAPTAIN ENOCH with the gold faceplate is played by WES CHATHAM of "The Expanse" where he portrayed Amos Burton. The troops are all bound by red Nightsister bandages and their cracked armor has been repaired using the KINTSUGI method of filling the gaps with gold lacquer. Thrawn says their numbers have dwindled and he's reluctant to commit too many troops to track Sabine. I bet these guys are mostly ZOMBIE TROOPERS like Marrok the Inquisitor. BAYLAN and SHIN are the stars of the show! RAY STEVENSON is killing it in this part! What's calling out to this man? What do the Nightsisters wish to get away from? How can it break the cycle of war? Is it possible the YUUZHAN VONG are lurking somewhere nearby? I sure hope so! EZRA BRIDGER shows up as EMAN ESFANDI with blue contacts and a beard looking very much like Ezra's pops from the cartoon images! Very good casting. He and Sabine have an unpleasant discussion ahead. The HOWLER's attachment to Sabine was very cute as were the nomadic NOTI Shell People. The bandits looked like RONIN in their red armor. What is the cargo being loaded onto the 'Chimera'? Nightsisters in stasis? Mummified Nightsisters? Nightsister relics? Nightsister treasure? We shall see...
The actor that played Baylan has passed away which is sad in istself but the fact that we probably wont get to see any more of the character after this season sucks. If they decide to keep the character they should hire the actor that plays Vice-Admiral Garp in the live action One Piece series.
You should really watch with the subtitles on, then you'd know the troopers are called Night Troopers and the little shell people are apparently called the Noti.
I was hoping Sabine would finally find Ezra there and she DID and his hair has grown again after all that time. But it also looks like that big troublemaking Thrawn is back as well and that's not good at all.
Finally, we found him, The Loth Jedi and the blue guy has returned. One of the favourite things in this ep is the Howler, i jokeed to myself i want one, lol. And seeing Shin questioning Baylen and his doings, wonder were that could lead. Still overly like the last episode with live action Anakin, Young Ahsoka, and Rex. But its good to see Ezra again, this series just gets more and more interesting.
I think baylan kills shin and or the witches. Idk why but I feel like shin is going to die...she's jealous of her master helping Sabine in the first place.
I think thrawn would kill me because I’m a very big smart ass and thrawn being blue I would have a field day making fun of him I can’t take him seriously? I did not watch rebels only a couple episodes, so what is thrawn ‘s deal why is he a big deal?
How did Thrawn and Ezra survive going into a super hyperspace with no windows while in the command deck when the heat was tearing the front of Morgan’s ring apart
Kinda felt the same, still liked it as a rebels watcher tho. My assumption was this episode was mostly Thrawn focused and I think the Sabine/Ezra reunion will continue into the next episode and be more fulfilling. They have a good bit to talk about after all lol
Um Alyska, I think you may want to reconsider that thought of Sabine not being a Jedi, because Baylon use to be a Jedi to and those NIghtsisters didn't target him.
They might just sense her affinity, her love for Ezra and relationship with Ahsoka. They know she is more of an obvious wildcard than Morgan, Baylon or Shin. But how wrong they are 🙃

What a great episode, another banger
7:52 Provisions would be food and water. ;D
Aww lol you didn't include your reaction to "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."
Here for your reaction to the rat dog
Ezra is cool too… but to be honest he looks nothing like Jabba the Hutt
Good episode love the video Alyska stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
The actor that played Baylan has passed away which is sad in istself but the fact that we probably wont get to see any more of the character after this season sucks. If they decide to keep the character they should hire the actor that plays Vice-Admiral Garp in the live action One Piece series.
Love the episode and your jumpscare of the little ninja turtle lookin creature, also where did you get your chair, I love it
I bet Thrawns troopers will shoot green smoke when they. Marrok would make more sense that way.
Long live thrawn Heir to the empire
Thanks for not putting a spoiler in the thumbnail!
You should really watch with the subtitles on, then you'd know the troopers are called Night Troopers and the little shell people are apparently called the Noti.
You two really look alike in the thumbnail
I was hoping Sabine would finally find Ezra there and she DID and his hair has grown again after all that time. But it also looks like that big troublemaking Thrawn is back as well and that's not good at all.
It reeks of jedi might be at baylon
Sabine found Jesus!
You’re gonna need to cut all your hair off for that Sabine cosplay 😉
I love your channel
Hi Alyska, love your reactions. Did you do any reaction videos for Rebels?
She reacted to Rebels in full exclusively on her Patreon some time ago!
This was better than 5. Five is cool and all, but it's mostly just of sentimental value.
IIRC, shouldnt Sabine have been able to smell Ezra in the village?
Finally, we found him, The Loth Jedi and the blue guy has returned. One of the favourite things in this ep is the Howler, i jokeed to myself i want one, lol.
And seeing Shin questioning Baylen and his doings, wonder were that could lead. Still overly like the last episode with live action Anakin, Young Ahsoka, and Rex. But its good to see Ezra again, this series just gets more and more interesting.
I think baylan kills shin and or the witches. Idk why but I feel like shin is going to die...she's jealous of her master helping Sabine in the first place.
At this point i think sabeen will end up dieing
Is it strange that I want the actor who plays thrawn to be Voldemort?
Hi from Sheffield my english rose got to say you look beautiful today❤❤❤
I like your ahsoka’s videos are you gonna do videos of rebels next
She reacted to Rebels in full exclusively on her Patreon some time ago!
I think thrawn would kill me because I’m a very big smart ass and thrawn being blue I would have a field day making fun of him I can’t take him seriously? I did not watch rebels only a couple episodes, so what is thrawn ‘s deal why is he a big deal?
1:47 I would do the same thing too, if i was in her place
Loved the Episode, LOVED THRAWN, but the meeting at the end, was SO anti climactic . . .
What it you want? A noti song and dance around a fire while Ezra makes Sabine fly around in a chair like a god?
Better writing would be a good start. :P @@nyghtmoon
@@ZUGTFO Give us your better writing then.
@@ZUGTFOIf you were better at thinking you'd see Ezra's entrance is a perfect foil for Thrawn's. *WHOOSH!*
They are totally bringing maul back. Bet on it.
How did Thrawn and Ezra survive going into a super hyperspace with no windows while in the command deck when the heat was tearing the front of Morgan’s ring apart
Because Star Wars is more space fantasy than science fiction. Just gotta take it for what it is and enjoy :)
I find your lack of faith Disturbing.
ccc cool calm & colective
Sort of like how everyone is judging Sabine as if she had a choice, give up the map or doom Ezra and die.
for some reason for me, the reunion of Sabine and Ezra feels anti-climax. It's like 'hey, long time no see?", then they just carry on. It feels flat.
Kinda felt the same, still liked it as a rebels watcher tho. My assumption was this episode was mostly Thrawn focused and I think the Sabine/Ezra reunion will continue into the next episode and be more fulfilling. They have a good bit to talk about after all lol
@@cobblepot9585 I hope so.
You're meant to contrast Ezra's genuine and down-to-earth entrance to Thrawn's pompous circus. Think for a second before you whine.
Did think about it, was still slightly disappointed, thank you tho. And it was only slightly, still enjoyed the reveal regardless
@@SwiftJustice Even Thrawn's entrance was not that good. Only watch Ashoka just for Ezra.
But how wrong they are 🙃
Salomba.... Salam game moba👍
thanks have a nice days👍👍
Wow
