Thrawn actually knew Anakin after meeting him on a mission during the Clone Wars. Years later during the days of the Empire, Thrawn and Vader returned to the very same planet on a different mission and Thrawn essentially trolled Vader by hinting numerous times that he knew Vader and Anakin were the same person. If you ever want good reading material, the trilogy containing Thrawn, Thrawn: Alliances, and Thrawn Treason is fantastic

I was kinda hoping that Thrawn would have been a little more enthused about her, since he seemed to actually like her master prior to the trolling vader phase lol.

I think its great that she's listening to his holograms... it means she has finally come to peace with Anakin's turn and redemption, and is embracing her former master again.
I would love to see when she found and met Luke. the weird thing is she knew Leia when she was young but didn't know who Leia's biological parents were.
If you knew what shenanigans Thrawn got up to in his younger days, you wouldn't be surprised by the fact that he's pretty much done being surprised by things. :D
That scene with Anakin and Ahsoka gave me the impression that it may be the last time we see Hayden for a while. I hope we get to see more of him in future projects. That hit me 😭

„Interact again…“? Thrawn and Ahsoka never had any interaction! She disappeared in season 2 of Rebels, he appeared in season 3. The one episode she returned in season 4 was when he was absent from Lothal doing a special mission for the Emperor
As for how they could get back, Ezra knows a frequency that can summon the Purrgil. It's how he called them to Lothal last time. As long as they have a functioning ship, they can do that.

I haven't read the Thrawn novels that show that Thrawn is one of very few people that figured out that Anakin became Vader. (I have read the Heir to the Empire trilogy that is no longer canon that is the original incarnation of Thrawn. When he was reincarnated for Rebels in canon, the author of the non-canon trilogy, Timothy Zahn, wrote a new set of books about Thrawn spanning the Clone Wars and Imperial era.) But even without reading those, I think it's pretty clear that Thrawn knows a LOT more than he lets on. That pause when he sees Ahsoka's master's name is significant.
Remember that scene in Rebels when he figured out who Hera was because she was carrying her family kalikori? If you watch that scene again with the hindsight of knowing Thrawn, you realize he knew who she was the moment he saw her, but he decided to let things play out to see if she had any accomplices with her (Ezra, wearing an out-of-place scout trooper uniform, rushed to her side) and see how she'd try to cover for herself. He always plays his cards close to his chest, and we have no idea what he's thinking until it's too late. The fact that he had a noticeable tell here means that he's thinking a mile a minute and he's already several steps ahead of Morgan and dozens of steps ahead of Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine.
Alyska, the Purgill aren't hurt, those creatures can take out a Star Destroyer and still not get hurt, so those mines you see there are nothing but mosquitoes compared to the Death Star.

While that may be true it is extremely sad that Thrawn has such an axe to grind with them because if not for that he probably wouldn't be as forceful as he is to destroy them
Star Destroyers that were not shooting back, might I add. Otherwise the space whales would've ended up shred cabbage in the barrage of those eight-barrel turbolasers of an Imperial II-class ship.
@@bemasaberwyn55 Thrawn is not the grudge-holding type. He simply ordered that any approaching purgyll be destroyed because he knew that it was the most likely means of transportation for Ahsoka and whoever else might come with her.

I really enjoyed this episode, but it's a shame that we didn't get to see Leia appear via hologram and Ezra wielding his lightsaber again. At least we finally got to hear Asajj Ventress get mentioned in live-action.

Unfortunately, with only one episode left we wont find out anything about Baylan's or Shin's past. Not this season. I wish there were like 10 more episodes, the way that shows used to be until somewhat recently. The way it is, we probably wont get any answers to any of our questions.

Anakin's hologram and Ezra's Force fighting were the best moments in this episode for me :) I can't wait to see what happens with Baylan and Shin next episode.
MAN, I'm glad Lars Mikkelsen is reprising his role in this show! Nobody can do the role better justice than him!
"Dreams and Madness" builds a solid and exciting episode by establishing characters at a crossroads. In particular, Shin seems to question Lady Morgan, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Baylan's dedication.
i get the sense that ezra and shin could be a thing (since the chemistry is more sibling-like with sabine). either that or shin becomes a serious force-monster enemy.

Senator Hamato Xiono (father of Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono) is incredibly ignorant 🙄😒, perhaps the Hosnian Massacre (the destruction of the entire Hosnian System including his homeworld of Hosnian Prime, because of the First Order's Starkiller Base), that he and the rest of his family thankfully were off world during, finally opened his eyes, maybe Thrawn's return will have a similar but smaller effect 🤔😓.

Shin has the potential to become another Asajj Ventress ( initially both were trained by former Jedi) and with training from the 3 Nightsisters, she can become stronger, a trained force sensitive with magic.
ezra has been out of practice for 10 years with a lightsaber, but hes has 10 years to perfect his force abilities. totally can see why he rejected it tbh.
If you're familiar with norse mythology, you'll notice this pattern:
Baylon and Shin = Skoll and Hati, the giant wolves
Thrawn = Loki
Peridia = Helheim
The Nightmothers = Hel
The Chimaera = The Naglefar, the ship that carries the army of the dead
The new Galactic Civil War = Ragnarök
Maybe Ezra just doesn’t need the lightsaber, because he has been through years without it and has shown his strength in the Force in combat.
Which is a good thing. Sidious always considered the Jedi's dependence on the lightsaber as a weakness, which is why he barely used his. While Ezra may not need a lightsaber anymore, it would still be a handy tool to have, especially if he's gonna take Jacen on as his apprentice

Hi Alyce! 😊I've been told I'm probably wrong, but the senator in green on the counsel really seems to be First Order. I was told his son is a good guy and never mentioned his father working for the First Order. But, this seems to be the type of thing they would do to control various situations.
I can tell you that we do see him again and he does soften a little bit. Mind you that shift doesn't happen until after the destruction of hosnian prime but it does happen( I won't go into further details just recommend you watch the 20 Orso episodes of Star Wars resistance that take place from just before the force awakens to just prior to the events of the Last Jedi
He definitely seems really ignorant and oblivious to the very real threat of Thrawn. Either he's the most delusional "senator" I've ever seen, or he is indeed bad, which I sincerely believe.

This episode is showing audiences who never saw Rebels why Thrawn is truly one of the greatest and most formidable villains in Star Wars history!
This man never sweats, and learns as much from his defeats as his victories. And in the canon book Thrawn: Alliances we learned that he also fought and served alongside Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars AND when he became Darth Vader, he even managed to deduce that they were the same person, even though Thrawn never had any actual evidence, while neither Vader NOR The Emperor could read his mind with the Force!
Also all Rebels fans know that if Chopper and that dick Senator Xiono were in that room alone, Chopper would kill him in a way that would make even the creators of Mortal Kombat sick to their stomachs.🤣🤣
Every tactic by Thrawn failed. He has shown no evidence of how dangerous he is.

I imagine they had a longer story arc for Baylan and Shin written. I hope now Baylan frees the Zeffo (or whoever) and dies/disappears off screen. And Shin next season realizes dark side, despite the cookies isn't all that it is cracked up to be. I bet Huyang has a kyber crystal for Ezra to build with too :)
Now we begin to see more of Shin's complexity, hopefully we can see which side she will chooses in the end. As for the Senator, he just full of himself and his vain comfort. It great seeing the teams reunion. Thrawn is such a well written legendary character. Whatever is calling Baylan, i believe he might not like what he might find. It is sad It's the last episode of this Series, but we might expect a season 2. (Can't belive you still remember that nickname "Skinnywaist" a.k.a Ventress, lol) Enjoying theses reactions non stop.
There being a season 2 is still up in the air, so the conclusion is left most likely to the Filoni movie.

When Ani mentioned Grevious, Dooku, and VENTRESS (for the first time in live-action SW media) I was literally punching the air. That already made the episode for me besides 3PO and Ahsoka saying it was his last recording broke me man. Hayden just has this warmth to him where you wanna give the dude a hug man, he is so kind-hearted and freaking nails CW Ani to a T. 💙

I think Angelina Jolie would make great Ventress. Her face fits 100%. And a little fun fact: the german voice of Jolie and Ventress are the same. (Also all Voices of prequel, animated show and live action characters till sequells are always the same.) Great for continuity.

XIONO, played by Nelson Lee, is definitely in the role of Bothan BORSK FEY'LYA from the Zahn "Heir to the Empire" trilogy. I don't know how he can claim there's no evidence after multiple Republic witnesses at Seatos and the infiltration of the Corellian shipyard! I also don't know how he can claim personal gain for Hera since she hasn't sought any benefit by her actions. Fey'lya had a personal grudge against humans, the military and Jedi. I don't know what's motivating Xiono other than resentment about not being a rebel himself.

PAUL SUN-HYUNG LEE's Carson Teva mentions the incident on Mandalore which definitely puts this after Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" which messes up the timeline since Favreau said Grogu had been with Luke for years after Season 2 yet Elsbeth was just being transported to prison! Had she been incarcerated elsewhere for years and was now being transferred to another facility when Baylan broke her out?

BAYLAN and SHIN have been magnificent. I hated to see them break up the band. I can't wait to find out what's calling to him! RAY STEVENSON is leaving a void in this show that will be hard to fill. I love his regretful look as Ahsoka runs off.

THRAWN outmaneuvered everybody handily but was GENUINELY SURPRISED by Baylan's absence! It's hard to get one past this guy but he never anticipated an alternate agenda for the fallen Jedi that didn't involve the two factions at play. He also elevated Ahsoka's threat level immediately upon learning who her Master had been! Lol. In the books, he's one of the few people who were privy to Vader's former identity.
Good action, good reunion, good comedy from HUYANG. I hope Filoni sticks the landing and provides sufficient answers.

For me, this epsiode was a good episode. a 7/10. Nothing wow. But good. This is what I want from starwars. Consistent 7/10 episodes.
People discuss and argue about Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka.
What I care about is "do they do the right choice for their character?" Not the correct choice for the story, or the light side of the force or the dark side.
I disliked that Sabine do not tell about how they got to Ezra, but after discussions in other comments to reactions I start to believe it is true to Sabine's character. And that is the question. Is it right for Sabine? Not what is right for the galaxy or the force or the jedi teaching. What is right for each individual character.
And I love that Ezra has been zen, the force, after living in exile for 10+(??) years. He doesn't need a lightsaber. He can fight without it. It is Ezra. He has become a character much like Chirrut. I'm one with the force, the force is with me.
From the start I believed Baylan is not a bad guy. He is not good, he is not bad. He has his own goal, and he is using Morgan for his goal. I thought Shin was in on the plan but it seems not. At the moment. It really just feels like. What is good, what is bad? What is light, what is dark? Baylan is in the middle. He is aiming for a new start. A real new start. And, as long as Disney does not make sequel trilogy uncannon, he will fail. But who knows. I don't. And you don't. Let's just hope Disney/filoni do have a bigger plan.
Two things and not so much on the episode. You are the only person that has ever mentioned Wood Lice. Most call them by the common names Rollie Pollies, and Pill Bugs. Second I saw you got married. Congratulations! You and your Husband make a Great looking Couple.
In defense of the senator (Xiono?), the New Republic is meant to be a civilian-led government, with a military that is meant to be answerable to that civilian government. Yet, here Hera is going about pursuing her own agenda without authorisation from said government. Worse, she's cultivated a group of soldiers who are more loyal to her than to the government they are meant to serve - a power base a more ambitious leader could launch an insurrection with. Her previous criticism of the senator having not fought in the war misses the mark - that is part of the point the New Republic isn't simply a government led by the Rebellion's leaders. Imagine if the likes of Saw Gerrera (Rogue One, Rebels, Clone Wars) were in charge of the government?
While that may be true, he is basically letting himself fall victim to the same type of thing that led to the fall of the Empire itself. Because factions within the Imperial military just believed that these were disparate insurrections. And the fact that Xiono did not take part in the last war means that he is missing that crucial bit of information which is why Mon Mothma trusts Hera so much( since it was that arrogance that she exploited with the various commanders like Hera using fulcrum agents like Ahsoka) to great effect and being able to topple the Imperial War Machine

@@bemasaberwyn55 But also bearing in mind, the reason we are on Hera's side is because we know she's right. Were she wrong, we would be saying she is being reckless, obsessed, and blinded by her paranoia. At the end of the day, Hera's not given much evidence other than her hunch and worry that Thrawn could come back to unite the Imperial cells. Aside from the pilots who followed her on her unsanctioned mission, all that the other ships that came after them saw were purgils jumping into hyperspace - they don't even know if Ahsoka actually left with them or that they were going to a new galaxy.
get ready for fireworks in episode 8... if there's one thing Filoni does well without fail, it's making epic season finales.
Thrawn is 100% not scary at all.
A little dissapointed by the Stormtroopers. I expected these soldiers to be battle-hardened troops that through experience and Thrawn's guidance would be somewhat more....elite. Instead they just got whopped like any other Stormtroopers. I also feel they need to improve on the choreography, it kinda looks....bad. The only fight that doesn't look bad is the one Ashoka had with Baylan. That being said I do find it cool the way they had Ezra fight without a lightsaber. It makes sense he's more comfortable fighting this way after doing it for...well, 10 years now.
Gotta love when Huyang fires a bunch of missiles at him and Ahsoka he conveniently somersaults right into the line of fire lmao

Chalk that up to his overconfidence and desire to impress Sabine. Being around her again after 9 years might make him feel like that cocky teenager he was when she knew him.
If Sabine is a sister to my boy Ezra then shiiii I hope he gets with the baddie lol come on a goofy Jedi like Ezra with serious goth chick lol and maybe once he likes her, she opens up and lets her guard down and now we have a character who can be serious but fun just like Gamora in guardians or something lol

They're not going to flop him around. There's nothing to stop him from accomplishing his goal of escaping. That's literally all he needs to do to win, and they're not going to bring back Thrawn to have him just have the same fate as the end of Rebels. That would be insanely anticlimactic.
