- A Traditional Full English Breakfast is a national dish in the UK along with a Fish & Chips and can be found across the country in every town and city. But in today's video I try a Breakfast thats a little different to the usual version. Its from a motorway services! Was it any good? Find out in todays video.

It looked ok ... but can you remember Little Chef Service Stations...their Olympic Breakfast was 10/10 and included sliced deep fried potato scallops.
The best service station I've been to recently is the one at Tebay its independent and all home cooked food .

Tebay and it's sister place at Gloucester services are excellent but very expensive
I thought for a motorway services it didn’t look too bad. I’d eat it. And nice to see toast that actually looks like toast and not white bread that’s had a match waved under it.

If you're down south, Gloucester services between 11A & 12 on the M5. Both are run by the same company, both are in an entirely different universe of motorway services.
Isn't that like a premium farm shop? I've been to Gloucester, run by the same operator and it's really good!

For a Motorway Services this breakfast was very good, nice to see black pudding with this meal, although with 2 eggs & fresh tomato would made this even better. The price you paid was about right considering, as Motorway Services have always been expensive!! Thank you for sharing,take care 💜 XX

You need to come to the Southern states and head to a BucEees! Look up the vids about BucEees! Friends and I once took a road trip to Texas just to explore the BucEees closest to Calif! World's largest gas stations with an extensive food court where everything is scratch made. Your motorway services is microscopic compared to any BucEes location!

Motorway services always add that bit extra price-wise. It was odd to have 3 sausages and only 1 egg instead of 2 sausages and 2 eggs. These places should let you change items if you don't like them. Good vlog to show what you get for your money. 👍

That’s a breakfast that I’d gladly break my journey to enjoy.
Always thought that plum tomatoes was the breakfast item when offered beans or tomatoes. But I'm talking about 30 years ago, when hash brown was not a thing on the breakfast plate. So glad that black pudding was on the Ultimate version of their breakfast. What surprised me most was the price, much cheaper than I thought.
Not that i ever eat in Service Stations as they have a captive audience and can set prices however they like. For example the McDs and Greggs prices are way higher than the High Street stores.
Tebay in Cumbria do a belter a bit pricey but actually worth it

We do not have anything like this .
The whole idea of this is sensible and mindful.
The breakfast is good it meet the expectation .you have good staff in the kitchen and service youll get pride and constancy. 😊
This is a brand new service area, better than average...they are varying in quality across the UK....
Fantastic hell no at tenner that's a rip off bit pricey. And toast of breads aren't included WTF is that?? 🤦🏻
I know loads of pubs and restaurants that gives you bigger portions for less money and has better quality and toasts and black pudding, 3 hash browns, 2 bacon rashes, 2 sausages, mushrooms. And included with half cooked tomato.
That's is just a pure scam!
Honestly I prefer a tinned tomato rather than a fried one with a fry up. That brekky looks pretty good to me. I’m one of those who doesn’t do black pudding. Bit of a rip off charging extra for toast though… that’s crazy!

Tebay might be worth a try if you want to travel that far. This brekkie looked good though, despite the price. Thank you xx

That was a small sized plate and those sausages were clearly cheap, catering sausages. I thought it would be far more expensive but for a motorway service station, it looked okay. Passable but not quality.

Gloucester services are the best along with Tebay, both owned and operated by a family company.

Someone commented Little Chef and Tebay Services. On trips down to West Country, often stop at Tebay sister farm shop services on M5, Gloucester. Have stopped Tebay once in past. Two best by far services in Country IMO. Beef pie and chips at the Glos services outstanding as is the farm shop area produce. As for Little Chef sad we lost those outlets as mentioned their all round service was 10/10. Loved their sausage rings which were partially split around the ring. As for your breakfast EIE, looked quite appetising and for services prices although little expensive, seems the going rate Nationwide.
Everything except the plum tomato, for me it's got to be a grilled or fried fresh tomato.
Each to his own.
Perhaps try some independent greasy spoon cafes for breakfasts. They can be pretty interesting.
I second this. Would be very interesting to see if the quality varies over the course of a few independent greasy spoon places especially if the locations are spread apart not just all Leeds.

The price wasn't too bad
To be fair whenever I have a Full English from a motorway services - it’s usually spot on.
Price is the off putting thing - especially when most services have a McDonald’s or Greggs type place where you can grab a much cheaper breakfast.
But sometimes - when you still have a fair few miles to go or a full day in work - you just want a sit down breakfast 😋
I'm suprised at how decent that was, and the value for money - Service Stations in the UK are known for being mega-expensive.

Act 1.at first glance your breakfast looked fine.A good crisp, clean, tidy plate of food. Gonna start with the toast.Nice colour & enough butter. Fried egg should be basted, the thin white shows an old egg. I don't mind tinned tomatoes Good looking bacon. Standard catering sausages. Mushrooms & baked beans OK Black Pudding, not one of my favourites £14.77 well over the top😢 If you're passing fine 😊Allan&Family

I hope you have many marriage proposals. Your Channel is tops as you understand about food. My personal view is that the Brekkie is 6/10 as most processed, sorry. £10.50 is crazy low price.

Can yo mention food temperature when you do some reviews, many buffet style items are often cold or lukewarm especially beans, Wetherspoon never do hot beans, and I rate venues much higher when they keep items hot, breakfast looks great but if not hot it woudl be a let down for me, great review channel love it and it mainly Yorkshire based so I can try out the venues

I like cheaper sausages with my breakfast, herb sausages, are not made for breakfast meals.
It looked fine. Would be better to have a comparison of some sort though.

Extra seem to operate the better, newer services across the UK....the breakfast looked good.....
I think Beaconsfield and Cobham, also by Extra are big as well!
I am from the states. So what is this kind of place equivalent to in the United States? A truck stop complex? Or a turnpike toll road rest stop? Looks delicious!
A truck stop/gas station with fast food outlets on an interstate would be the equivalent. The M1 is a major motorway (highway) from London to Northern England.
A bit expensive but it's a pretty huge breakfast. Not bad I'd say.
It looked pretty middle of the road to me although the bacon and egg seemed above average. Grilled vine tomatoes, decent beans, farmhouse bread, more butter and another egg would help level it up.
The Sausageometer is always the quality test for me😂👍

I laughed out loud on this one, when you were describing how it wasn't as large as it looked I thought "like an anti-TARDIS" only for you to follow up with the reverse TARDIS line.
I would have liked an additional egg with mine, but it looked pretty good other than that.

For motorway services this looks good. Do you eat bubble and squeak up north? I'm not totally convinced by american hash browns on full English. I'd prefer to see sautéed potatoes. Much more English. Agree with you about the eggs. One egg for an ultimate is a bit mean.

the food here looks good but when we stop this food out let is always closed i think that they should be open all day not just for the morning as a lot of people like my self love a big breakfast any time of day
for £11 almost did not seem bad for were it is. £14.77 means toast and drink were £3.77 at least it does not loon like it was under the heater too long and dried out.
with the extra item black pudding a breakfast is normally more expensive.

The thought of driving for hours & then eating that can’t be much good for anyone. The cost to clog one's artiries: around £15. But others may see it differently. Yuk is my verdict, that's all 🤮

Motorway services used to be expensive. That has changed to a degree with fast food outlets like KFC and McDonald's. They appear to charge the same as their regular restaurants. £14.77 was steep for what you recived.
A larger plate required. Doesn't look great piled up like that!
