- MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine economy grew at a faster rate last year with the further lifting of strict COVID-19 quarantine and lockdown protocols, a survey of leading bank economists showed.
Michael Ricafort, chief economist at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., said the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.8 percent last year after expanding by eight percent in the fourth quarter.
