I too bought ally couple of weeks ago. It is awesome, and the best thing is AMD is launching FSR 3.0 on September 6th and it should be a game changer for ally. 🎉
Glad folks who have an Ally are able to play this at least at 30fps! Hopefully Steam Deck will see some small performance boosts to get it running consistantly. Now if only we could change the FoV IN GAME. *sigh*. It should be illegal to have games release at 70 FoV, it should be classed as assault.
All hail Big Brain Blunty 🙇♂ I still can't believe that the engine doesn't allow you to change the field of view in the options menu. What the hell, Bethesda?!
I can run just about any game in HD at 60fps with the right settings. Starfield needs a couple of months and Microsoft to force a heavy hand on optimizing this dinosaur.
With render resolution all the way down to 50% while dynamic resolution is on, that shits just to blurry for me at some stages in the game😅😫 but in 900p with 75% render resolution but capped at a steady 30fps it's pretty much playable and still sharp enough
I've been playing this for 14hrs at 1080p Medium, running a custom 18w TDP. The only problem area so far is New Atlantis, as you displayed here. I'm by no means a graphics/ FPS snob, but I really couldn't handle the blurriness of 720p 😅 I'd definitely rather have mid 20s on New Atlantis than that smudgy mess 😬
I have not played this game but if the creation engine is so bad, what would you propose they do? Start from zero, a huge overhaul that is an actual 2.0 and not just marketing, or use Unreal? While I think Unreal is mega impressive, I also don't want to see everybody go to it, having a mono/duopoly at such a core stage seems like it would only hurt us long term.
it's an amazing game I've spent 27 hours playing early access n have just been exploring planets.. I've visited 20 systems already and every one is different from the last n there's so much more
this is gonna be great playing on the go and eventually with mods. I will have to redo windows on my ally in a couple days cuz I ordered a 2tb nvme cuz im tired of running out of space on the 512gb lol.
@@konzo5942mehhh that just felt like a lot of work when I did it, but granted I only used my Ally for a week after launch before I put my 2tb drive in.
Default (4G reserved), it's designed to dynamically allocate more ram if needed, there's no reason to ever fiddle with it UNLESS a game is specifically an issue.
Like I said... the default 4 automatically allocates more if needed, don't fiddle unless you know WHY you need to fiddle, and you just discovered why ;)
2 days!!!!! For 2 whole days. Ive been fighting with the ally trying to get it to run starfield. After 3 minutes of watching this video and the 900p trick video, I am now immersing my self into one of the best looking and smoothest games I've ever played. (Coming from playstation and xbox 😅) And it's all down to blunty. I can not thank you enough. You saved me from throwing the ally straight through the living room window. Subbed, thumbed, bell on 👍 🔔
Don't pay this dude any attention he a salty Playstation pony just mad because he can't play Stanfield on his Playstation 5 wait i bet he going to he got a $ 5000 dollar gaming rig like they always do when they get called out on their bs
Literally bought an ally yesterday and i couldnt be happier
I probably would of waited to see how the legion is ally is great I useit more than my desktop lol also use custom fan curve to save SD card reader
dont buy sd…. buy a new 2230 if you decide to upgrade😉

Thanks! Looking forward to playing this on my ROG Ally while I’m travelling in Pakistan.
Didn't know you're a gamer
I never thought it would not run on the Ally but great to see it works well. Looking forward to playing this game in the next few days.
great video Blunty, man the ROG ally is a friggen beast!
Just ordered 1 can't wait for it to arrive
Once again, the exact video I need 🙌
Crazy to see you here. Binged your content when I first got my quest 2!

you will never know the WILLPOWER it required to not derail this video by going on THAT rant LOL
You're entertaining to listen to! Please tell me you do audiobooks :)
Now that i know this stuff and lucky i found your channel you deserve a subscribe! Thanks for the info friendo!
Steam Deck runs it surprisingly good considering recent horrid games being so badly optimized that they didn't run well.. but this is worlds better.
15pfs is garbage for steamdeck . Switch Fanboy shills thinks that's acceptable ,but not for a PC handheld.
Been playing all weekend on my Ally. At work too (we have to wait for work orders to drop so we get a lot of downtime). Been having a blast.
Will fsr 3 improve starfield on steam deck. I heard fsr 3 has more input latency is that okay in this kind of game.
Nice video thanks I'm going to try those settings on my rog. Amazing game so far.
Would the setting change if i wannt to use a monitor? I see alot of screen splitting even when having vsync on.
If you're seeing tearing when you have Vsync on... no, you do not have Vsync on, it's ONLY function is to nuke screen tearing.
Are you using Steam or Xbox Game Pass ?
Where do I place the driver when I download it?
On your desktop. Install it then delete the installation file from your desktop
I've noticed if you play at 900p with RSR the CPU utilization drops. It gets rid of the "stutters" in New Atlantis
30 watt 720p medium settings?
900p really is the sweet spot
I already have 20+ hours on it using the ally no issues it took over my 3 days off
Why my Ally crash???😢

"So I dont want to sound too smug about this" - Well thats a fail them mate! Here.. have some love though to make up for it! :)
900 p is not available in the windows settings
Watch the video with the sound on
Wish Steam deck could run it this well

FrogboyX1 channel couldn't get Starfield to run on his top tier Rog because it kept shutting down. Going to tell him to watch this.

you can move your data over completely if you have a pc you can image the 512gb onto or a pc you can plug both drives in at once
