reset process = (Power button + delete) together. Release them after 3 sec and Then press Paper resize button. Thats it. it resets the (E) error message temporarily for you to be able to print.
I JUST bought new black and tri-color cartridges. Printed 4 documents in one instance- no problem, they looked great. A few weeks on, I attempt to print today, and the black cartridge can't be read by the printer. It's brand freaking new! No one has touched the printer in the meantime. I've tried gently wiping the contacts with a clean, lint-free cloth, on both the cartridge and the carriage, and it didn't help. So, of course, I can't print anything. $24 for 3 sheets. Might as well have just tossed it in the dumpster after I walked out of the store.

Hi we have a hp deskjet f4580; now when we turn it on, it makes a lot of noise and it wont print. It also doesnt read the new cartridges that we installed. Pls help
+Navya Vanapala A grinding sound is heard when the printer is turned on or when it is printing. Blinking lights may accompany the noise. The problem can be caused by a carriage stall or a paper jam. To resolve this issue, follow the instructions below:hp.care/2ggMNRz
I opened the printer MX318 to change the ink carriages but all of a sudden my old ink boxes are stuck at the end of the printer and all I get is an 'alarm' sign … what can I do … there is no paper jam … I just get a sign 'check printer/
Hi Sylvia Severi, Thank you for posting on HP’s Printer Support UA-cam channel. After doing some investigation, the printer model that you gave me MX318 is a Canon printer. I’m not trained on Canon products, so I would recommend checking UA-cam for Canon videos or please visit Canon’s support web page.
My printer fell on its side And the printer I got was used with used carriages and I had a carriage problem and the printer won't print the image I wanted it to print what do I do
+Gwen Steffani Alguno Please work through the steps in the "HP Printers - Printer Does Not Turn On" document ( ow.ly/XXALJ ). It has the steps to help with your power issue.
Personally i made a big mistake purchasing this printer -_- Too many problems. At times it would cancel scan and resulting 14-15 prior scans to not save ( when making pdf) And at times half printed papers.
+anant negi Is there something I can help you troubleshoot? If yes, please let me know how the printer is connected and what operating system you are using. Please also let me know what the issue(s) are and if there are any error messages.
***** problem is with the printer itself it seems. I have to heavily rely upon using the default WINDOWS print scan copy software because Hp software tens to malfunction when scanning thereby ruining the whole set of scanned pages all together ( when doing a set or pdf. ) At times it will print half a page and then remove the page then again print half the page.. thereby wasting 2-3 pages in such a process. I am using printer via USB 3.0 port as well as a USB 2.0 port. Windows 10, and Windows 7 both have been using. As far as error is concerned it says Printer not connected. No it is not a lose connecting issue or anything like that. Just that it will show then when it is scanning suddenly it stops and then starts. I have even tried another cable of the same model with a backup power constantly running. the problem still seems to persist.
+anant negi I've included the "Printer Specifications for HP Officejet 4400, Deskjet Ink Advantage (K209), Deskjet F4400 and F4500 All-in-One Printer Series" ( ow.ly/VAlcA ) which shows that the printer only supports a 2.0 USB. This printer has a full feature driver for Windows 7, but currently there is not one for Windows 10. When you were experiencing the issues scanning, did you try HP's Print and Scan Doctor utility? The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues. You can use the "HP Printers - Using Print and Scan Doctor for Windows to Help Resolve Printer Issues" document ( ow.ly/Arcmm ) to learn more about it. You can always download it from hp.com/go/tools Please let me know if you decided to run the Print and Scan Doctor and what the results are for any that are not green check marks or green wrenches. Also please let me know what the wording is that accompanies the results.
***** Ill try the utility drivers right away. And the problem occured with usb 2.0 itself. I just stated that I use 3.0 too for the printer. Although that should not make any difference as any futher USB ports are always backward compatible with the lower model.
