I decided to go back to school after year's of crontic OCD and anxiety where I thought that I wasn't able to absorb all the information I get during the classes, getting into stoicism helped me to get over the fears of looking stupid infront of my classmates, not having enough time for the gym or simply wasting too much time if I fail the exams and having to do it again the next year. If I fail I will just be where I'm at right now and I'm OK with that, I don't need to proof anything to anyone be getting a degree even if that means that I have to drive a forklift for the rest of my life.
Such a good comment Lumpen, love this!
This is so relatable to me
I'm not failing courses but just getting C+ and stuff. But I'm taking things from a letter perspective now. Trying Change my life
Great points about not forcing concentration, and not multi tasking.
Thanks Lynn! Great to see you in the comments 🙂
bro you should make a video on health while smoking a bigass cigar
LOL Joe, this might have to happen
How can I deal with having so many health problems, and being the worst type of person.
I can cover those in separate videos 🙂
@@OCDrecoveryNick please do.
I also have lots of problems and am also the worst type of person so videos would be good
Amazing video Nick thank you! Love the examples 😂
lol! Thank you! You know I have to make the videos fun as well!
You make me laugh🤣
Lol! I really do enjoy making people smile 🙂
Sorry if this question isn’t really related to the topic of the video, but I often get this strong urge to think of or imagine bothersome/graphic thoughts . Although it feels very automatic, most people have told me acting upon this urge is a compulsion. Do you agree with this? And is it related to the automatic rumination you’ve discussed before ?
Hey Arwarorooo - Absolutely, it can certainly be automatic if the belief behind it is 'if I lose control and continually think of these thoughts (and act on them) this is absolutely horrible' it usually continues.
Would reminding yourself of your beliefs just a few times a day still be compulsive?
Nope! I think in the beginning it's going to happen anyway but the further you move along the journey the less likely it's needed, terrific question.
@@OCDrecoveryNick thanks, Nick. Appreciate what y’all are doing for people
Okay. Good. Cos I've done it like 10 times today. Which is annoying but at the same time they were all consistent and they're getting shorter 😅
