Personally a huge fan of the Trans Am and Camaro content. It inspired me to get a third gen myself and I’ve been working on it ever since. Not anything amazing but it is an original 1984 Z28 with a five speed manual running a SBC under the hood at the moment. I love the all the content you put out but those two specifically really help me figure out what I’d like to do to mine and how much it’d hurt the wallet
Likewise. I have been plotting an ls swapped firebird for a while, and definitely like the way he's going with his. Probably going to steal a few ideas as I start getting things done. Interior and handling are coming first, though.
Before I found this series, I knew I wanted an '86 Trans Am. I actually searched for a build series because I wanted that car. I found this channel and I love it. I hope I can get the Trans Am soon.

Like your content but I'm biased towards the third gens. I started watching for the Camaro and Trans Am. Need the content on those two, especially since I have an '88 GTA that's going to be swapped with an LQ9 and T56. If you want to help I welcome it, lol.

Hey Matt, personally I'm a fan of all your content. I had a 83 Z28 that i put a 1970 400 into it back in the late 80s. I currently have a 2000 WS6 M6 since 2004. That one isn't going anywhere. I love the Tahoe content. And my daily vehicles have always been some sort of foreign vehicle. I had a 91 Geo Storm GSI that i tore up the autocross courses with. Loved that little car till it suffered at hands of my ex-wife. Driving a Mazda 3 sport now that i would love to turbo kit some day. Keep up the great work Matt. I watch all your videos.

Your Trans Am looks just like the one I used to own, so I've been following that as well. I've watched a few of the Tahoe videos, but I've seen all the Camaro and Trans Am ones. This video has me excited to finally see your Camaro getting some love. She's a beautiful, sassy bad ass in my opinion :)
Astra cosmetics look ace! What did you use for clear coat on the headlights? We just replaced (at 90k miles) the o2 sensors and engine is much more responsive; run a scanner to make sure yours are not slow as the car seems very sensitive to these; car is not faster, just throttle response is much smoother; $40 each at RockAuto for OEM. Euro equivalent to your car is the SRi and I think the top of the line model is the VXR with different seats, etc. For shocks and struts, the SaturnFans forums have a ton of info but these are basically import only; one option is Bilstein B6 or adjustable struts and Eibach springs; a few guys complained they were stiff. You can also get a rear sway bar; the stiffer handling would be a bit more challenging in snow and rain. Some euro Astras had active struts from the factory but I don't think that would be an easy mod.
FYI there was an Astra H "facelift" during production, so some exterior parts were updated sometime around 2007. Not sure when but when looking for parts you might prefer importing post-facelift.
Tahoe vids are most appreciated. Can you tell us more about the brake upgrades. Sounds like cosmetics…paint ? Or are you doing a serious mechanical upgrade of the brake components ?

So, I would definitely like to see you finish the blue T/A I think so far it looks pretty cool, not sure if your looking to make it have sort of the sleeper look, but whatever you decide, as long as it makes you happy, I’m sure it will come out looking great. 👍🏼

I'm a big fan of the tahoe videos because I got mine right around the same time you got yours and your videos was the first ones I came across when I got mine. They're pretty much the same except mine is a LT not a Z71 but same year and around the same mileage too. First thing I did to was get those ebay headlights and LEDs you put on Tahiti and I still have them never had any issues.
God I love that Camaro...I love the firebird build videos too. They help me with how to tackle my camaro, cause Im going to be starting restoration process at some point in the near future. I watch all the builds tho...
I love all of your content myself, but I wanted to let you know if you have any moisture coming in your car in the front on either side, your gonna have to get your windshield taking out and re-sealed ...... I have a friend who has the same problem
I considered an Astra but decided to go with a Chevy HHR. Good ones are easy to find, easy to fix and customize and you can fit a bunch of stuff in them - an eight foot ladder will fit with the hatch closed and it will easily swallow a set of tires and wheels. Wish I could find a SS which are becoming more and more rare.
The astras are a very popular over hear in the UK in the modified car world I have the astra van highly modified and love it had it 11 years from new and I simply won't get rid

Despite what some naysayers say below, some of us are enjoying the Astra content. You are, however, selling the power short: It has 138 hp, not 125. Only 138, but you'd swear it was 140.
I left a negative Amazon review on my Crosstour dash cam, and they refunded me. They also let me keep the cam for deleting the review. You should try that.
Saturn finally got their act together and then GM pulled the plug during their 2009 bankruptcy. The Saturn Sky wound up looking way better than its corporate twin the Pontiac Solstice. Astra looks WAY better than the crappy Ion it replaced.
Z28 grill? Functional SS hood? BTW, came for Camaro and Tahoe content but stayed for all of it really. Had a 91 RS and looking for another and had a 05 Tahoe and upgraded to a 13 Tahoe LTZ. Miss my third gen the most.
Happened to with the brakes seems unlikely but we actually had the brake lines which are biased from the master just switch them as see I couldn’t believe it

I appreciate trucks, but I like going fast through corners, except for blind ones. If I ever get a truck, it'll have a bed. I have had and run cars most similar to your Astra, so I am interested in what you can do with it. When you do turbo it, make sure you don't lose too much mpgs when babying it. Consider where gas prices are now and are likely going to remain. The F bodies that you started with are both dear to me, they are what I wanted when I was younger. Are you going to drag race your Firebird with the automatic?

What did you paint the trim rails on the astra with? And where did you find the caps lol I’ve been looking everywhere. Did you sand them down or anything
@@lsxmatt yeah they look pretty sweet factory I did mine they didn’t turn out quite as well lol I scraped off all the remaining vinyl, sanded it and used a satin black rustoleam then a flat non textured undercoat to mimic the factory but still came out textured lol.

All I have is an '05 Suburban LT 4WD, so I'm mostly interested in the Tahoe content.

I sanded them down by hand and just hit them with satin black kryon. Still looks great after a year and its always parked outside.
