You'll need to check the RPO codes on your vehicle to ensure to buy the correct parts. Below are the parts I used.

Same exact thing happened to me with the surface sheild! I ended up cutting them open and using a under coating gun.

I did this same set, went same route as you... I had to heat the nut on top of strut to get off on both sides
Look into Vigor Air Suspension. Front complete struts are like $260 a side. Comes with new electric connectors too. That's what I have in my 2009 esv. But I have a Canadian spec. Just subbed! Great videos. Oh....another thing, check your ground and add another one by the hood shock. You'll be surprised what it'll fix. Another common gm issues on these trucks.
I pulled the magnaride from my suburban when mine went out, don't even notice the difference in ride from the magnaride/rear air suspension to just good quality struts.

@@cornbread9472 it's was nothing special. Just what the shop I have gone to for 32 years recommended. It's what they use when they pull the air ride from customers. Some off brand not cheap, not expensive at all.

Tighten the nut then untighten the nut. Back and forth with the directional switch on the impact... It will zip right out. You were fighting it the whole time 😂
Just an observation, your struggle with reinstalling the strut is due to you only jacking up one side vs. having the entire front end lifted. The stabilizer bar was working against you.
I bought a set of these struts for $60 off Ebay for a 2018 Tahoe the brand was AED great strut still going strong.

For whatever its worth you can buy an o ring kit for the ac system that comes with a new screen/capillary tube. I performed an ac service to my buddies 02 last year that included a new desiccant/accumulator, screen/cap tube, and flushed it with rx11 and that system ran like brand new. I highly recommend it!
Heat up the can in warm water get it to spray. 🤷♂️ sometimes that works. 😂I noticed the truck switched in the introduction of the video 😂
the rear shocks leak ever 80 100k. so I'm sure they have been replaced. I'm at 140 on the stock fronts. it rides well stuff, but I'm sure they need done. it's never been up north thou

Yea aerosol cans piss me off, like when I have under an hour left of my recoat window painting something and I fall one can short, then rush to the store 20 min away grab another can come back and its a dud! Yea that happened to me. And finally when I got a new can it started peeling because i was too late, start all over!

100% that A/C is the rear HVAC lines leaking - happens to like 8 out of 10 GM SUVS with rear HVAC. Its bad when companies like Dorman make rear block off plates for the A/C....
that spacer is what butts up against the little snap ring on the piston. With out the spacer you would have no dampening of the shock. The piston would flop up and down and not compress in the strut housing.
Luxury brands are a headache I cannot afford to deal with.
The complexity and expense is terrible.
I owned a Luxury brand once in my life, and it cured my ego from that nonsense.
Some people never get over it.
I love PB Blast...but use fluid film instead. Its the best in the rust belt states. And the cans never fail. Ive never had a PB Blast can fail, surprising to me too because its made right here in ohio.

The upper plates have bearings and they should have been replaced
Is that the bump stop that sits on top of the strut inside the spring?
I want my Escalade to be that height im not sure what all was done previous owner said a lift kit and new shock and struts but ill measure mine later and let u know how hight my front and rear mid fenders are sitting i took out the bottom lift on the strut its a small metal piece in the shape of a letter C i believe or squared U and i was told thers some on the top of the stut as well so i need to remove the whole thing again tomorrow and see i want to put a drop kit or get it to normal height can you measure your height from floor to middle of front fender and let me know and also the rear

As Usual, as normal by age, that Frame and metal components are attached and welded on that Frame, all of that is close to a Rusty BUCKET. Totally Rusty Bucket.

when I put the Bilstein leveling shocks on my 2018 Sierra I took the strut assembly to Big O tires. they did the two of them for 40.00 dollars on their huge wall spring compressor. Did you replace and secure the plastic Christmas tree clips on the driver's side wheel liner? There appeared to be a ground eyelet dangling.
That was there when I pulled the liner off. I’m assuming it’s for an option the truck doesn’t have. Looks like it was tucked away in the harness from the factory.
Failed Mag ride control replaced with Mag ride control that will fail again in 20k miles. lol Nice you like to keep buying parts to support GM.
I’m very surprised you were able to be reserved with swearing ….. anytime I work on something…. I swear at least every other word..helps with disassembling and reassembling 😅
