I love watching when guys don't check the oil before starting an engine, I love it when an overheating engine has no visible coolant, I love it when oil is double the correct amount, I love it when folks pour transmission fluid in a hole with no proper capability to check the proper level nor know how on late models, I love it when trans fluid is put in a transfer case where much thicker oil goes and visa versa, I love it when a gearbox requires a specific spec fluid and something from the shelf is used totally destroying the gearbox because the shop wanted to save the owner some money by not paying the big bucks for the BMW overpriced OEM Spec fluid, the only fluid that can be used. In all of these cases, some are caused by the owner but most all perpetuated by the technician who does not care to follow a checklist of procedures that they do not want to create based on years of experience after seeing others create problems that they themselves can prevent, but then create more problems for themself by publishing the mistakes on video for the world to see, including the Judge. This is a problem for content providers who do not like to edit mistakes out of their videos, there are 2 types of mistakes, ones that can get you into trouble and ones that can teach others not to make the same diagnostic mistake that was made in the video to include the wrong call to change a specific part that did not fix the issue at hand, which we all do, thanks for the latter. Bernie Thompsons 5 Gas, very cool. FATFINGER the cars data, OMG, who is not going to notice when they type in the info that it is off by 100K?? This is why on an Automotive FB Group that I Moderated, PICS of the VIN and other important numbers are not allowed, it's up to the OP to post the correct information as making FATFINGER mistakes is a little common so the only person who can make a typo is the OP, not the Members giving assistance. The Members giving assistance only need to copy and paste the text into their subscription-based software to look up SERVICE INFO or PART NUMBERS or SCHEMATICS. Thanks for the overall informative video and the BOROSCOPE verification and viewers need to know that BOROSCOPES are very affordable these days, not like 30 years ago. But most 5Gas is still very expensive if you do not live in a SMOG State where is will get used and you can charge more for that use.
Ford actually has a revised engine block design. 2014-2019.5 have a space between the cylinders so there is very little material for the head gasket to seal. The new blocks have the cylinders touching each other.
any combustion gases coming out of the reservoir but we also need to be aware of combustion gases in the work bay coming from the running vehicle when the tailpipe is not properly vented outside of the shop environment, so suck in the air in the engine bay area then go back near the reservoir tank to check for any real increase. In the older days, it was believed that old coolant created some of the gases so do not be fooled hence the need for near and far gas samplings of substantial differences. No matter what, do not suck up any liquid into the gas nozzle, the best way to test is to attach the fill bottle that can be used to burp the system when refilling the system as that bottle will contain some gases and hopefully prevent suction of fluid, cheers.
Nice work! I really need to get a 5 gas analyzer.
Thanks for sharing Rob!
Rob thanks for sharing. Rare to see a shop with a 5 gas analyzer. That’s seem like a pretty big blowout to drain the system . Thanks again. Artie 👍

What is your PPM number that you use to be 100% confident the HG is blown?
